I don’t eat Thai food a lot but I thought I would try something different than the normal Chinese take out. I ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp, crab rangoons and hoi jor. The drunken noodles were super tasty. Had the perfect amount of spice to it. My only complaints were that the noodles were a bit mushy and I don’t like how the tails were left on the shrimp. Again, I don’t usually eat Thai so in not sure if that’s how if should be served. The crab rangoons were delicious and came with this yummy sauce on the side. My least favorite item was the hoi jor. It was a tofu wrapper filled with crab meat, shrimp and chicken. It was dry and a little bland. Not good. The delivery was estimated at 45 minutes and didn’t come until about an hour and a half. The driver immediately apologized that he was late which I appreciated but my food was lukewarm. I would probably order from here again and try something different than what I tried today.

This place is consistent with their quality of food. They are reasonably priced with a great taste. Exceptional customer service when there was a problem with delivery service. 4⁄5 stars because I wish their spices were stronger. Very spicy was not nearly as spicy as I expected.

The one star is for reasonable customer service. When my husband and I were extremely unhappy with our first(and last) take away meal, I returned to Mali with the uneaten portion. The gentlemen manager seemed to genuinely care about improving the flavor/taste we were unhappy with so when I lost my bad attitude and explained what we thought were the problems, the manager was VERY gracious. The manager was also amenable to our terms for fair compensation. Good service. Unedible food.

I’m actually giving 3.5 stars. I recently developed a serious obsession with thai curry, and my sister loves thai food as well so I thought we should give it a try. They don’t have a delivery fee or minimum, so I was even more willing to give it a try. We ordered the Drunken Noodles, Goong Tod, and Lamb Curry. I was impressed with the fact that they delivered the food so quickly considering it was raining pretty hard outside. The Drunken Noodles wasn’t anything different from other thai restaurants I’ve tried. It had the spice, flavor, and the noodles weren’t overcooked. One thing I did notice was that they didn’t really mix the noodles into whatever sauce they use properly. I had to pull some of the noodles apart and found that they had no sauce on it. The Lamb Curry was everything I was craving. You could taste the sweetness of the coconut milk and the spice of the curry. There was a good amount of lamb, potatoes, and etc. I loved the taste and if I wasn’t so full, I would’ve drank everything. My sister and mom didn’t like it that much though. They lost points from me because the Goong Tod was really underwhelming visually and taste-wise. I already knew that only 4 pieces came with 1 order, but, as I said, it was underwhelming. It was suppose to come with a sweet and spicy sauce according to the description, but I got ketchup. I was excited for the sauce too… I’m sure it would’ve made the Goong Tod taste better. It was pretty much a small, skinny spring roll. But instead of vegetables there was a shrimp and some crab(both unseasoned). Other than the Goong Tod not being what I was hoping for, I don’t have any major complaints. I just think it could’ve been better. Maybe it was because I had it delivered.

This is one of our default places to eat and our favorite local thai place. My wife loves the crispy duck with the fried basil leaves. It is probably my favorite item as well but since she always gets it, I try to eat off the rest of the menu. I have not been disappointed although if i could only get 1 dish, the crispy basil duck would be my recommendation. Not always busy in the restaurant but do not let that scare you away as myself as well as many others often get food to go.

Amazing food and great service with kind waiters. Definitely recommend eating here. I got the chicken pad Thai and pad phang pa and they were both delicious.

I’m not sure what everyone else is raving about, because my experience was not good. They pull me in with the Unilocal coupon for a free Thai iced tea and the really excellent reviews. I have this rule, you see. If only one person is eating in the entire restaurant, or nobody is eating at the restaurant, it’s time to turn around and go some place else. Except I wanted the free Thai iced tea. SUCKER!!! The Thai iced tea was actually very good, so at first I had high hopes. The Yum Nau was nothing but chewy meat with some almost-Thai flavoring I knew, but some spice in there wasn’t tasting right. It was meh. The Pad Thai though, good grief, what a horrible plate of crap. Barely edible. No peanut flavor. The fried tofu was VERYPLAIN. The waitress was nice and attentive, so I tipped her well. Wasn’t her fault the food here sucks. I won’t be going back. I recommend you don’t try this restaurant either.

First time eating Mali Thai. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Kanom Jeeb, and fried bananas. The food was really good. I have had Pad Thai other places and this one is pretty good, not my favorite, but good. I would definately like to try other menu options. Happy Eating.

I must say the food was delicious! They did seem a bit short staffed, the people are really sweet there but it would be nice if they were a little more attentive to their customers. Other than that, the ambiance was great, it’s a clean and nice restaurant with DELICIOUS food! Definitely worth trying!

I’ve only very recently discovered that I do in fact like thai food(a really bad experience years ago made me think I didn’t like it). So this is only the second local thai place I have tried. That being said, this place is delicious! I ordered chicken pad Thai, a side of fried rice, spring rolls, and crab Rangoon. Yes, all for myself. No, I didn’t eat it all. I love leftovers! Everything tasted great and was delivered sooner than expected. I will definitely order from them again, although I will say I prefer My Thai in Brambleton just slightly more. But I do like the slightly bigger menu here. If you want quick but delicious Thai delivery then go ahead and try this place!

Best Thai NOVA. love this place. Listen i am salivating right now thinking about the food. I really think in my opinion this is the best thai I have had. I have been to 5 other thai places in Northern Virginia and this is my favorite spot. A bit spicy but I like it hot! Some of my favorite dishes are. Pad Phed Pa — spicy but awesome Pad Ka Pow — The basil is a nice touch to the pallet. Ped Ka Pow Krob — Great duck dish if you are a fan. curry wise I would recommend, Green Curry. I like the flavors that come out in this curry the best. You can not go wrong with any of those dishes. If you want an app, try the chicken satay.

Ordered delivery tonight and it was AMAZING! Very pleased with the food and it didn’t take long at all to come to my house! I was planning on getting Thai from another restaurant but they told me they were«too busy» to take my order and hung up on me. So I stumbled upon Mali Thai. We ordered Pad Kratiem & Lad Na. Both were wonderful dishes and still hot when delivered! We will DEFINITELY be ordering from this restaurant from now on! Thank you, Mali Thai, for a great first experience!

10.99 for a very good lunch. Waitress was really nice. Free soup was okay. Free Spring roll wasn’t completely cooked. Drunken noodles with pork was perfectly spiced and cooked. Tasted great. Made me sweat just a little. Perfect.

So average. Came here during the happy hour and ordered the spring rolls, drunken man noodles and the red curry. All of them were OK but definitely not the best Thai food I’ve had. The portions were also on the small side. I checked in and a free thai ice tea offer popped up. I tried to use it and the manager said it was expired with an unapologetic face and wouldn’t honor it. If they know it’s expired and it’s still coming up on Unilocal they should take down the offer or honor it. Or at least be nice about it! Too many other places to try to come back here.

It’s about time I got around to leaving a review for what we consider to be the best Thai restaurant in Loudoun County. We’ve had delivery from Mali Thai too many times to recall and never once have we been disappointed. We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve ordered but here are my favorites: the Kanom Jeeb appetizer is delicious, not fried so it’s not too heavy as a starter but has a ton of flavor. The Tom Kha Gai and Tom Yum Goong soups are fantastic(Tom Kha Gai probably takes the lead between the two for its milky broth, it’s oh-so-good). For entrees, my personal faves are the Gang Ped Yang(slices of roasted duck simmered in red curry with pineapple) and the Ped Ka Pow Krob(crispy fried boneless duck sautéed with onion, pepper in spicy basil sauce). The Mr. loves the Pad Phed Pa(stir-fried with peppercorn, kaffir lime leaves, shredded bamboo shoot, baby corn, green bean and fresh pepper; he gets it with beef). The Pad Thai is also a standout. But the real star of the Mali Thai show is the Mango with Sweet Rice — they do a fantastic job with this dish. We made the mistake of ordering Thai from another place that’s much closer to us and their Mango with Sweet Rice couldn’t even come close to Mali Thai’s. If you love Thai food, this is the place!

Very friendly staff, the food quality is excellent. Very unassuming décor but where it counts, they do very well. I had the pad phed pa, and it was very, very good. I enjoyed it with the Thai tea and a friendly greeting from the owner. Co-located at the Safeway shopping center near Bonefish, this is a very solid Thai destination for the Ashburn area. I look forward to coming here again.
