Pretty good choice. Stumbled in here after looking for quick lunch. Good or bad it happened to be a Tuesday which is all you can eat for 12 bucks. Ribs turkey and sausage were the best choices. I didn’t even bother with the sides. A hefty lunch no doubt, but good way to try everything on the menu. I would definitely eat here again. Best barbecue ever? No. Really good but a little pricey, yes.

Sadly this location is now closed… went by for lunch on Monday and they were gone. Colter’s was a once a week lunch spot for me so it sucks to see it disappear. We got to know the manager pretty well so we we able to contact him yesterday and apparently it’s a leasing issue… hopefully they will pop up again soon in a different location.

I have been going to this colters for 3 years, and the last two times I have went there, yuck! The sausage tasted rotten and the sauce was terrible. The ribs were covered in sugar. Never again!

We love love love Colters! Unfortunately we don’t live in the area any more so can’t get Colters BBq on a regular basis. However every single time we drive through we stop and get the brisket plate with onion rings. It’s my old standby and my favorite. Great sauce, beef, freshly made rolls and tea. Definitely recommend this one.

Can’t believe this place doesn’t get anything less than great. The buffet was plentiful and tasted great, and the staff were prompt and generous with the meat refills. My only complaint really is we didn’t see them advertise in any of our tourist resources. Glad the locals pointed us in the right direction. We visit the stadium(walking distance) we will be back. EH! we loved it.

We have been eating here when it was Luther’s BBQ then changed to colter’s this place is ok for BBQ, I have seen the workers pick up the onions and pickles off the serving board with their hands(no gloves) and put it back in the serving bowl GROSS. We don’t eat here any more we changed locations

I haven’t been to colters in a long time. I didn’t know there were any left? I thought they all closed down. after the meal I had I can see why they are closing down. I had the three meat combo. ribs, beef and sausage. the brisket was chewy and had no flavor to it and the ribs were not that great me good ribs are when they fall off the bone and these were far from it. last but not least the sausage. they were ok but once again it lacked flavor like the ribs and brisket. the two sides I had were pretty much like the rest of the meal medicore. whatever they are doing it’s not working. maybe it’s time to shut this place down. regardless I won’t be back do I sum this place up? to me the best word for this place is tasteless.

This is a fine barbeque place. I had the baby-back ribs, and they were smoky and tender. Fried okra made to order, very good. The folks who work there are extremely pleasant and helpful. I haven’t tried the other dishes yet, but if the quality of the ribs is anything to go by, I look forward to sampling the rest of their fare.

My sons and I have been eating at this Colter’s since the mid 90s, and the quality has always been pretty consistent in the evenings when we eat there(haven’t been during lunch at all). Usually get the 2 meat plate with the brisket and sausage. Every once in a great while the brisket will be a touch dry, but on the vast majority of our visits it has been very moist and tender enough to cut with a fork. The sausage has always been top notch. I’ve had the ribs a few times, they are usually really good too. The sides are better than average, corn on the cob has always been perfectly cooked and tender. Love the baked potato casserole too. My older son, who is a self proclaimed mac and cheese aficionado always doubles up on the mac and cheese here. The free rolls are great when fresh, so-so if they’ve been in the warming display for too long. Of all the BBQ chains we’ve been to, Colter’s is the best. I have to comment on the service too, its always been excellent. The night manager has been there about as long as we’ve been eating at Colter’s and still remembers when my kids were in grade school, despite both being adults now.

Decided to eat here on a Friday night. Expecting to find a crowded restaurant with a football game on, but was surprised to find it completely empty. I would rate this restaurant mediocre at best. The ribs were just ok, the brisket was not cut on the bias making it very chewy, and their sausage was decent. Their onion rings were flavorless as if they breaded them with flour and nothing else. All their side dishes are self-serve and looked as though they had been sitting untouched for hours.

had the bbq which was good. not the best ever but good. the mac and cheese seemed a little watery to me, but i LOVED the mustard greens. The apple cobler for dessert in a must, but i’ll skip the ice cream next time. very cool Texas Rangers photos on the wall. Ice Tea was also excellent and naturally sweetened.

The best BBQ brisket in my opinion. The sides are always good with all the usual choices. They have large TVs to watch sports. Or they play country videos. I like this place for BBQ. And the onion rings are very good. I was getting the ribs but I stopped because sometime the are a little dry but not to often. So you may have to take a chance. On a Friday night you can get right in no wait. That sometimes a good thing if you are in a hurry.

Came here after a long day working the week of the Super Bowl, and honestly didn’t think it was too bad. The service was nice and friendly and the brisket was really quite good and juicy. No means was I blown away, but found it to be pretty satisfying.

I was at an event at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium awhile back and was starving. We were cravin’ some bbq, drove down N Collin’s and this joint stood out so we went and tried it. I’ve had a lot of bbq during my week long stay in Texas and although this place wasn’t the best bbq out of all, it was still satisfying. We walked in and the atmosphere is what you’d expected from seeing the exterior. Business wasn’t too busy when we went and we kept looking around at all the décor. The ordering was a little confusing at first, and it felt cafeteria like. Wasn’t too annoyed. All I wanted was to eat. :) Service was friendly and prompt. I ordered the Po’ Boy sandwich with brisket and sausage. Meat was average tasting, tender and the sauce added a nice flavor. The mac-n-cheese was… eh. The onion rings were good but a bit too oily.(see photos) Had the ribs another time and those weren’t too bad. Tender and nice flavor. Not sure if it’s the starvation talkin’, but it hit the spot. Good for a quick bbq fix for lunch.

C’mon Texas. This is suppose to be BBQ. To my surprise, altthough the meats were ok, the sides were god awful! Say no to the greens, potato salad and mac & cheese at this place. It was just straight nasty. The smoked turkey just gave it a 2nd star. It’s a shame to be around the corner from the new cowboys stadium and have the nerve to advertise tailgate packages and prices. Who would want to buy this sh*t? This place should go out of business, made me pull a u-turn and everything to to here for this crap? Ironically as I post this review, i peek to the side and without knowing before hand, good review people recognize the shitty sides this place has with the meats being ok! Overall Grade: D

Meats are pretty good here, but I’ve just been to too many good BBQ restaurants in the area to give this one a decent review. It’s your basic walk up to the counter BBQ joint, with nothing too special. If you’re in the mood for something filling, go with the«all you can eat» plate. You get to test all their meats and you can get anything off of the sides and breads. The ribs are pretty good and the other meats are not bad, but for $ 19, you can get better BBQ. With around $ 20, you could get 2 or 3 pounds of good quality brisket elsewhere. Or if you’re feeling something new and absolutely delicious and filling, head to North Main’s BBQ, which is probably the top notch joint for your money in the area. $ 12 will get you some of the metroplex’s best BBQ. This one is a bit lacking, but still acceptable since it’s one of the only ones around this part of town.

If the buffet hadn’t hit a price increase, I would give it a 3 for quality & value. I never order off the menu here, it just wouldn’t feel right. The food is decent, but I believe the quality of my brisket is more dependent on the marbling rather than their cooking process. I LOVE their baked potatoes. Check it out if you haven’t yet, if you haven’t hit up all the amazing Texas BBQ yet go ahead and eat here while you’re still somewhat a Texas BBQ virgin.
