My girlfriend and I stayed at the Kensington Hotel for our one year anniversary. Part of our package was a gift certificate for Grahams for a dinner and breakfast. Our dinner was their short ribs and I had the salmon. I also had their clam chowder. For breakfast she had an omelette and I had their burrito. OMG on all of it. All the food was perfect and it was perfect in taste texture and presentation… No negative at all from either of us. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Our waitress was very good, polite and attentive, super personality. Frankly everyone was very good. Grahams is a restaurant for anyone wanting excellent food with good service whether you are staying there or not. We will visit there again on our next trip.

Was a little leary at first because there was like nobody there. The place was practically empty, but I was surprised by their dinner menu. A group of 4 of us had dinner there since we were staying in the hotel and we each enjoyed our meal. They had a range of entrees from fish, pasta, and even filet. It is definitely and older place but is nice and quiet and definitely reasonable for dinner. The bread they serve before the meal is fantastic! The breakfast is very basic but enough to be satisfying. Overall worth going to and a reasonable value.

Came here since I was staying at the hotel, it was a pretty quiet night and it looks like one server was working. I stood at the entrance for about 10 minutes before approaching the guy in the bar whether they were still seating. In that time the server had come out several times, made sure contact with me and walked back into the kitchen without saying a thing. The server at the bar told me to sit anywhere I would like and I chose a booth. Table was dirty and it took ten more minutes to get it cleaned, get a menu and water. I should have left at that point. The food was mediocre overall but the service was horrible. I was given my bill before I could order dessert, really? I’m pretty tolerant of things, but I was completely baffled by how poor the service was. Maybe the server was over worked, but not having a moment to acknowledge my presence was pretty bad.

4 stars might be a bit generous but in fact I did enjoy my meal so I guess it is deserved. The service was definitely a bit slow — I guess when I was there they had more than the usual number of customers for a Monday night. The Brussels sprouts appetizer wasn’t out of this world but it was decent. For a main, I ate the beef short rib and enjoyed it. The mashed potatoes on the side were a bit weird; I really liked the fried leeks on the side — a nice touch. They have a wine list but no list of beers — the server had to go to the bar and write down a list when I asked what beers they had! But at least she was willing to do that. Oddly, she asked us about dessert when there was still food on our plates — seemed like she didn’t really want to get a dessert order out of us. Basically, I would say that if(like me) you’re in a hotel in the area and want a convenient restaurant, this is perfectly adequate, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way to eat here.

What?! Every single disabled spot is taken! Is every handicapped person eating here tonight? Damn! Even those are a haul into Graham’s. Nice relaxed atmosphere here. No hipster douchebags to be seen! The 14 oz. prime rib for $ 20.95 is still a great price.(They raised the price) but good beef is more expensive these days. Good times!

Dined for lunch with a group of girlfriends and each in every person was dissatisfied with their meal. Personally, my meal was inedible and I have never, ever, ever had this occur in my entire life prior to this. Inedible. We all agreed that the food is just frozen and reheated with toaster oven or quick convection unit. Low quality, not fresh, mushy, cold on the inside, etc… In contrast, the staff was very friendly and courteous. The dining facility appeared clean as well. Additionally, the Kensington it is attached to is clean and nicely located. The only reason these guys got 2 stars. My mind is blown by others speaking so highly about the food. Change in management? Change is the chef? Something has changed. If this restaurant was ever good, it has gone downhill.

I’d only go here on a Friday or Saturday night for the prime rib. It’s good prime rib for a decent price. Everything else feels like a time warp. Really old food trends and not that good. Try the prime rib though.

Oh, no, worst breakfast EVER. But before that drama… very kind staff. I fancy myself an eggs benedict connoisseur. Last week I treated myself to the most amazing eggs benedict up in Brighton at Cheryl’s. First off, they were out of hash browns… fine, I can go with the flow which are diced potatoes. Of course, the onions and peppers were not disclosed up front. I hate peppers. Then I specifically ordered medium yolk. You guessed it, first dish, pure runny yolk everywhere… yuk again. Okay, back to kitchen for round two on the eggs. They come back, fine enough. The server disappears again. First bite, WHAT is that NASTYTASTE? Is that a cinnamon sweet wheat English Muffin? Oh, YUK again for the third time! The server reappears when I am almost finished with the eggs… oh, so sorry… those are the only ones we have today… bleck…toast is better than sweet muffins. Brings unbuttered toast. Again, nice servers. Clearly, incompetent cooks. Don’t even ask about the Hollandaise Sauce… boring, must have forgotten the fresh lemon step and a pinch of salt! All this mess and she kindly removed TENPERCENT from the item which was $ 10.95., Do yourself a favor and take the extra travel time and head to Angelos! or Café Zola! or McDonald’s would have been a better and more consistent choice. Guess I know understand why the place was EMPTY.

we were guests at the hotel. monday night and just opened dinner service. hot fresh bread hit the table with sweet butter. great start. had the escargot and mussels. both were luke warm but very tasty and came with toast points. just a temp issue for me. i like my snails sizzling hot at the table and mussel broth also. mind you we were the only diners excuse for that but once again very flavorfull. wife and I split the Mediterranean meatlof with mashed potatoes and asparagus. awesome and the staff plated it on two plates to the table, nice touch. both were large enough to be a separate entry. not another diner showed up upon us leaving, dont know why, the food was good, service was good and prices very reasonable. we will be back.

This will be a running review. I started my meal with the French Onion Soup. Presentation is different with a cheese covered croisant type bread in the soup. Soup is VERY bland and has a weird consistency. It is almost not worth eating but I am starving. The special is Beef Wellington. I asked if it can be prepared without Mushrooms. The chef is willing to accommodate and warned an additional 10 – 15 minutes. I appreciate the willingness to adjust and do not mind the wait. Service has been very friendly and efficient so far. A very nice young man has made sure that a very thirsty guest has unending Diet Pepsi! Winner! The restaurant is basically empty however service is top notch! Thank you, Jakob! Beef Wellington arrived and it was beautifully presented. It is a little bland but I requested a major alteration so I dont hold it against them. The meat is beautifully cooked and very tender. Awesome mashed potatoes! Among similar establishments, Graham’s is a solid four stars. The one star loss is for the soup. Overall a solid entrée and Jakob was awesome!

We stayed at the Kensington Hotel for Michigan Orientation & received a $ 10 coupon towards the restaurant. The food was outstanding, the waitress Chenai was delightful & extremely helpful. I had the walleye with grilled vegetables. I eat low-carb & did not get the potatoes that came with the dish. Chenai said I could substitute, but chose not to. The vegetables were perfect. It’s hard to cook red pepper, zucchini, asparagus, broccoli, and green beans & have ALL the vegetables perfect. Graham’s accomplished that. I did have to add salt to the fish, but is rather so that than have it be too salty. U highly recommend Graham’s.

I’ve been to Graham’s 4 times now for dinner and every time it has been delicious. This is my go to place when I want a quiet place for dinner and drinks to catch up with my best girlfriends. They have a great bottle of Moscato here– Canyon Road, and cocktails are great too. There is not much of a beer selection, but they do carry several varieties of local beer which is nice. On to the food! I’ve gotten the mussels, swimming in a pool of buttery wine sauce and accompanied by buttery garlic bread. This is a small plate, so don’t expect a huge portion, but it’s only $ 6 – 7. The entrees that I’ve had here are: the duck, venison, & prime rib. The duck was cooked perfectly, but I definitely wanted more seasoning. The venison and prime rib are definitely the stand-outs here. Perfect med rare on the meats and complementary side dishes. This is a great place to go if you want good«fine dining» food, without the headache of downtown parking and crowds.

Salmon was ok, maybe a bit over charred. White rice was supposed to be pilaf stated on menu. Marginal but quiet atmosphere which is what I needed. Really two and half stars but I’m feeling good.

I’m not comparing Grahams to some upscale high end steak house. For this category, though, they knocked it out of the park. Food was absolutely fantastic and service was top notch. We had a party of 11(six adults, five kids). Stephanie was running the bar by herself and took care of us and the rest of the bar(wasn’t that crowded) and everything else she had to do as bartender. It was so good and convenient, we came in the next night. Same great service, same great food. And the food, wow — the french dip was probably the best I had had in years. The bread, meat, absolutely perfect. Had a burger the other night and can’t remember when I had one that matched it. The burger was cooked exactly as I asked and tasted great. Each ingredient was right on — mushrooms, cheese, bun, tomato. Others in the group had salads, chicken fingers, no complaints from anyone. It probably sounds funny to give this place a five star rating but if you are choosing a casual place to get a french dip or burger or casual bar food, you should not pass this up. I don’t know who’s working the kitchen but they know what they’re doing. And, again, the service was great.

Graham’s surprisingly has really good food. On Friday and Saturday’s they have prime rib for under $ 20. I can’t recall the pricing but there are two sizes you can choose from and it comes with 2 sides. It ‘s always kind of dead in there and service is always subpar. My group loved Graham’s chicken and always made sure to get extra sauce. Veggies are cooked well and varies which is a nice change. I stayed in AA for over a month so we dined here every now and then when we didn’t want to go out. Some of the bread is weird just ask for corn bread only. If you are staying at the Kensington or Holiday Inn be sure to stop by or order room service. I didn’t utilize the bar but I’ve eaten here several times.

2 stars is generous, but I couldn’t give 1 since yes, I would eat there if I had to to survive. But I won’t ever spend money there again.(As a disclaimer, I usually only put in Unilocal reviews for places I love and give 5 stars to, so this is an unusual review for me.) This restaurant tries to make you believe it is an upscale establishment. It is hands down the most disappointing restaurant I’ve been to in Ann Arbor(I live here). We ordered a walleye dish that was dry and bland, and something else I cannot even remember. The bread was clearly from some supplier and not very fresh. The food was acceptable at best. We then got a chocolate cake that looked very promising –big mistake. It was a dry and terribly freezer-burnt. It’s the first time I ever left a restaurant thinking«I’ve got to go on Unilocal and warn people to stay away.» The prices are on par with many similar restaurants VERY nearby that have excellent food. How they manage to survive is anybody’s guess. Ann Arbor in general has a pretty high standard, but most are downtown. This place is out close to the highway and probably ropes in the hotel guests who don’t know any better. Go downtown(or even down the block!). You cannot do worse than this place in this city.

Graham’s is a very under-rated restaurant. They have great, freshly prepared foods with great service and even better prices. Wine list isn’t very extensive, and they would benefit from great happy hour specials, but it’s still good food for a good price.
