The food is not too bad. The Tacos Al Carbon and Fajitas are actually really good. The ingredients are fresh and good quality. The ambiance is what you would expect for a typical Mexican restaurant. Festive and fun. The service was good. Although, the server did not have to get us any refills so maybe we were just easy customers. We went on a Friday night — they were rather slow. Our appetizer and food came out at lightning speed. Maybe almost a little too fast. I was thinking about having two beers, but only ended up having one. ;)

Authentic Mexican Restaurant Atmosphere. Conveniently located within walking distance to the Hilton Garden Inn and the Marriot Town Place Suites. Also, this restaurant is directly across Briarwood Circle from the Mall. Eaten at many Mexican restaurants from West Texas to South Texas and it doesn’t have a Mariachi Band or vintage embroidered Mexican dresses on the waitresses, but it has an electric train overhead that continuously travels around the place which was pretty cool. As for the food, it’s more than enough food for the price, could not finish my dinner, not even close. Had the Steak Fajitas and they were very well made and filling. Had the fried ice cream for desert. Very good. They did not have Frappapias and honey, disappointing. This is not as good as Rosa’s, but as stated earlier more than enough food for the price and reasonably so.

Came here on Cinco de Mayo with my fiancé and her mom. As we walked in we saw a lot of people waiting outside and we wondered if we were able to get a table. We were five the standard 30 minute wait so we ordered margaritas at the bar. The place was very crowded and noisy but lively and pleasant. We got a table outside under the awning. We ordered a fajita for two and a quesadilla. The weather was a bit on the cool side and I originally wasn’t too keen on sitting outside but when they got rid of the plastic curtain to let the sun in, it was much better. There was a group of people sitting next to us and one person started smoking a cigarette(or a clove cigarette). I wasn’t sure if that was allowed on the patio next to all the other diners, even if it was outside. None of the waiters told them anything as they got served. Our food was served in a timely manner. The fajitas for two was very good and was plenty of food. It also came with refried beans with cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole and Spanish rice. Small, Tortillas were also served in aluminum foil, but there was only about 4’on each foil so we had to ask the waitress a few times, which wasn’t a problem. The quesadilla was a good and the serving was perfect for one person as well. ========== David C. Thanks for the reply. Two of us split the fajitas-for-two order while the third are the quesadilla.

We came here for margaritas and dessert and we really enjoyed ourselves! This is a large, family friendly restaurant, and I didn’t feel like my baby was bugging anyone with his little bit of noise! The small pitcher of margaritas was a good value… We felt like we got a lot for our money. The churros we ordered were out of this world!!! They come 2 to an order and a bowl of vanilla ice cream is also part of the deal. I wish there had been more churros and less ice cream, but wow were the churros yummy! It wasn’t super busy on a Friday night, so it could be a good choice for a big group if you need a reservation. Can’t wait to go back for more churros & drinks! Next time we’ll try their food!

Pretty good food and great service. We came in right towards the tail end of happy hour and excitedly ordered some margaritas to start us off. They were larger than I anticipated but perfectly made, just like you want a margarita to be. We started with the chips and salsa which were fairly standard issue, nothing special or memorable. We ordered the molcajete to share which they marketed to be loaded full of chicken, steak, chorizo, and cactus for about $ 20. For similar authentic Mexican restaurants, this is pretty low-cost which I think we got what we paid for. The bowl itself wasn’t quite as large as we were used to and it did have a small amount of chicken, steak, a few large onions, a small amount of chorizo, 2 – 3 small shrimp, but that was all laying on top of a LARGE, MASSIVE amount of cactus strips. While I like the taste of it, the amount they included totally changed the entire molcajete into an acidic overload. Not in a good way. It probably wont stop me from coming back but it definitely isn’t the first place that pops into my mind when we’re thinking we want Mexican, let alone a molcajete.

I can’t lie. I love this place. The food isn’t exceptionally good and neither is the service, but it is definitely not bad. Everyone is very nice and happy hour is unbeatable. Don’t miss Taco Tuesday with $ 1 tacos.

Absolute worst Mexican food we have ever Had. We ordered the Fajita’s and they were the most Bland thing i have ever had. Fajitas should have a nice spice to them. When we reported our dislike for the food to the manager she told us some people had different tastes Not sure who goes to a Mexican place expecting SUPERBLAND food. Do not waste your time or money YUCK !!!

Stopped in for a little taco salad action at this Mexican standby after a weekend round of golf. I’ve ordered this entrée several times before… plenty of ground beef, fresh lettuce and ample cheese in your typical taco shell bowl. I ordered it with a Los Amigos house Margarita which really really refreshed on a hot Labor Day afternoon. Los Amigos may not win the best Mexican badge in this college town but it delivers good sized portions of Mexican comida at a good value. Service was above average.

My family’s been coming here for years since opened(and through all the mgmt and name changes). So I go here a lot cuz it’s literally one of the few restaurants that my father likes(this would be a 5-star review if he was writing it but he’s not so yea). You’re in A2 and want cheap semi-tasty tex-mex, come here. I’d say the fajitas are the best thing on the menu. The meat in most of the enchilada/taco/burrito dishes is pretty bland and flavorless – but it’s usually smothered in cheese & beans so that helps, along with some hot sauce. And if you like hot, definitely ask for the«hot» salsa with your tortilla chips. Recommend: Parillada for 1, 1 order is good for 2(3 max) depending on appetites. Mango margaritas – watered down, just order a shot of tequila. it’s cheaper. DONOTGETTHESEAFOODMOLACAJETE!!! absolutely inedible. Just tasted like old spoiled and reheated seafood — clams/mussels/crawfish smelled and tasted vile. Shrimp wasn’t cooked. Didn’t even take it home. Makes me want to gag thinking about it. Service is always friendly and prompt. So they’re doing something right there. All honesty, even though it’s not my favorite place for tex-mex; I’ll keep coming for the service & the nostalgia. Oh and for the beans too.

Living in downtown Ann Arbor there are quite a few«fancier» Mexican restaurants around you can go to. Nevertheless when I want Mexican food I want it fast and dirty tex-mex style– fajitas, cheese dip, and margaritas. For that there is no better place than Los Amigos. My lady friend and I always get the Fajitas Texicanos for 2. This is approximately 10 lbs of food for like 20 dollars– mixed fajitas with chicken, steak, and shrimp. And they actually give you more than like 3 shrimp. It’s an unbelievable deal, enough for at least 4 meals even if you don’t gorge yourself on chips, salsa and queso. Which you should. They do have queso findido on the menu– BUTDON“T BEFOOLED. Many people miss that the last item under appetizers is «dips» and has bean dip, guacamole, and cheese dip. It is legit white queso — aka ambrosia. You can dip chips in it but its best if you get an extra order of flour tortillas to dip in or if you request a shot glass to drink it(follow with mezcal chaser).

Great service and the Texas Fajitas were delicious and the 16 oz Lime Margaritas for 3.99 that they have Mon– Thurs are some of the best that I have had. I as a Mexican recommend this place. I come from Chicago where the best of the best Mexican food is at. I will keep coming here unless they give me a reason not to and then I will have to update this post. I am a tipper and so I think like any place I should be treated well. My first time coming here.

My boyfriend and I come here every week since we have moved to Ann Arbor. The waiters know exactly what we want when we walk through the door. The staff is very friendly and speak Spanish with us — a rare treat. Their pollo con chorizo is superb, as well as their Long Island Ice Teas! Wonderful food and great service!

I’ve been here many times and they are always consistent and delicious. It’s pretty much utility mexican food, buy you get a lot of it and it all tastes good.

Food was pretty good, just general Mexican, nothing that made it more special, love the outdoor seating, staff was nice and attentive. Would return

Very Americanized Mexican food! I was hoping to finally find a decent Mexican restaurant in Ann Arbor(southwest Detroit native, Latina) and this place certainly isn’t it. The salsa tastes very fresh. However everything else is highly mediocre and hardly«Mexican.» If you’re looking for a place that serves Americanized versions of Mexican food, this is the place for you. The staff was very nice.

Relatively safe place if you want some mexican food more authenticity than Chili’s, but far from a really good sampling of mexican food. I got the enchiladas supreme with 4 different kinds of enchilada. The chicken was dry and crazy chewy, the cheese was filled with what I can only hope was their Queso and not real cheese(it tasted more like a tortilla dipped in cheese sauce, very light on filling). The salsa they start you with is, again, OK but not great. Almost a complete liquid, I prefer my salsa to have some texture. If you shut out the atmosphere of the restaurant you may think they served you a bowl of marinara. I’d rate more like 2.5 stars but can’t round up to three. It’s just forgettable, bland, americanized mexican food. I’d rather just have Chipotle or go somewhere in downtown Ann Arbor even though it’d be a few extra bucks

So I was a little bit skeptical about going to a Mexican restaurant in Ann Arbor Michigan. But walking inside it looked just like a Mexican restaurant you would see in California. I sat at the bar and received quick and very friendly service. I ordered the number 3 which comes with 2 enchiladas, 1 taco and a chili relleno all for $ 9.50. The food was exactly what you would expect from a mexican restaurant /cantina. If I ever visit Ann Arbor again I would definitely be here again.

I stay at a nearby hotel frequently, and although there are many fine restaurants in Ann Arbor, when pressed for time Los Amigos is my go-to. The service is always fast and friendly; there’s a good selection of beers; the menu has a large variety of choices; the décor is kind of Mexican in the way that the Mexico pavilion at Epcot at Walt Disney World is kind of Mexican. The place has a certain charm to it especially for kids; there’s a model train that runs on a little track above the diner’s heads. The food is OK, not as good as some of the Mexican places here in California, but good enough that I keep going back. While I usually have beer, on my most recent visit I ordered a margarita; it was good, but so strong it should have come with a warning label!(I’m still feeling its effects as I write this…) Anyway, if you’re staying in the area and you despise the noise level of «Buffalo Wild Legs» the décor obnoxiousness of «Rockin’ Cardinal’s», and the mass-produced faux Italian at the«Rigatoni Grill», vamanos your tailfeathers over to Los Amigos pronto!

I came for dinner on a weekday. I was seated right away and the server was friendly, she asked if I wanted a beverage soon after I sat down. The place is noisy and decorated much like any other Mexican restaurant. I decided to get a margarita on the rocks to drink. The margarita was weak and watered down. The only saving grace is that it wasn’t really salty. They serve the standard chips and restaurant style salsa. The salsa was surprisingly spicy! I’m not complaining because I like spicy food but probably for most Americans, it would be too hot. For dinner I ordered the Burrito Fajita– it is supposed to contain beans, grilled meat of your choice, veggies, and comes with lettuce and guacamole. The burrito was $ 11 if I remember correctly. Overall, good value because the burrito was huge. It’s a rare occasion that I don’t clean my plate and I couldn’t. The steak was a bit grisly but certainly not like I had to chew 50 times to swallow each bite. The meat was flavorful and cooked well. Overtop of the burrito is some sort of cheese sauce. I have to say it was way too salty, like insanely salty. I’m pretty sure I must have drank half a gallon of water that night afterwards. So all in all, the service was good but the food, while overall tasty was a bit too salty.

Never met a server here I didn’t like! :) They are so friendly and some of them are really funny. The food itself is pretty standard for a Mexican place that serves cheap(!) beer. The chips are crispy, the salsa isn’t too salty, but most importantly THEYAREFREE(I’m looking at you, Tio’s). I’ve ordered enchiladas, burritos, chile rellenos, and tacos here and enjoyed them all. The portions are fine, especially given that you get unlimited chips & salsa. I always leave feeling stuffed and sometimes in pain… the good kind. It is nice that there is patio seating, now that summer weather is upon us. One thing of note: The bf didn’t like the margarita he ordered yesterday($ 3.99, he said it was bland). Cheap grad student advice: There are often 20% food(not booze) coupons in Clipper Magazine and other circulars you get in the mail. Keep an eye out for them!
