Can I really not have reviewed City’s before they closed? I was quite fond of them, even though I moved out of their neighborhood several years back. My husband is an East Coast grinder snob, and City’s was the only place we’ve found in Michigan that passed muster. And the pizza was really good too. Does anyone know if they are opening elsewhere, or if there’s anywhere else that makes a good grindah?

I’m also saddened to hear they’ve closed if indeed they have. I live right down the street and ALWAYS went here for my pizzas! Ever since I saw them open and tried their fare I was hooked… a perfect balance of sauce and toppings and very flavorful. I loved their crust! Very cool people operating the place too!

I’m saddened — I think this place might have closed. Their phone is disconnected and we visited the location twice during advertised business hours and the door was locked, but there was no signage indicating they were closed. Anyone know anything?

Our experience with City’s Pizza has been very mediocre. We found that the wings we ordered arrived soggy. I believe they are baked, rather than deep fried like traditional wings. We also ordered the Three Cheese Bread, which was alright. However, the sauce they include is ice cold, which takes away from enjoying the cheesy bread. And most importantly, we felt as if the pizza was nothing special. It was essentially a little less enjoyable than Domino’s. We ordered the Atlantic City Pizza with Garlic Butter Parmesan crust. The crust was surprisingly flavourless. We tried to taste the added seasoning, but still could not place it. Next time I order pizza in Ann Arbor, I will stick with Anthony’s Pizza.

Thanks to a number of other great Unilocal reviews, not much more to say. Their pizza is absolutely delicious. Great local pie joint. Notably, I was very pleasantly surprised by their wings, which were much more tasty that I expect from a pizzeria. I’ve only ever gotten takeout, so I can’t speak to their delivery services. I would like to note that, when you put a tip in the tip jar, they ring a bell and EVERY working employee yells out«Thank you!!!» It’s fantastic. I appreciate their hard work and delicious food, and they appreciate the tip, which makes me tip a little more since I love their service so much. If you’re looking for a delicious, American style pizza, I highly recommend City Pizza.

I visited a couple of years ago, had trouble finding it as there were lighting issues out front. The pizza was no different than your typical take-out chain pizza. I was hoping for a bit more from a locally owned, non-chain pizza place, so I stayed away. I recently saw that they had good Unilocal reviews, so I figured I’d give them another try. Strangely, they had lighting issues once again and looked closed. The stoop in front of the door on the right reeked of cigarette smoke; I guess that’s where they take their breaks. Perhaps the door on the left isn’t as jarring. But again, I found the pizza very typical. The olives are clearly from a can. Their web site says their sauce and dough are homemade, but you’d be hard-pressed to tell. They could just as well come off the back of a Sysco truck. I’m puzzled by their average rating here and the adjectives some reviewers toss around. I understand that sometimes chain-style pizza fits the bill, but it’s a few solid notches below«amazing».

Amazing pizza! The crust is perfectly parts crunchy and salty with the addition of the cheese and butter. Perfect proportion of cheese to sauce to dough exists. the sauce is not too overpowering and allows for more appreciation of the other characteristics of the pizza. Not to mention, it’s very inexpensive and the staff is super cool. It’s hard to have the best of anything in a city that’s prides itself in great food. But City’s ranks among the top.

The hubs and I decided to try CP and were very impressed with the quality of the food and delivery time! They took a little less than the estimated time given, which was 30 minutes and the driver was very nice! We ordered a medium Cleveland — Pepperoni, Ham, Mushroom, Onion, and Green Pepper, Milan Salad — Romaine, Onion, Banana Pepper, Black Olive, Feta, Tomato, and Greek Dressing, and a small(which seemed like a regular sized) three-cheese bread with a side of ranch. The cheese bread, is one of the best I’ve had out in Michigan. The salad was okay. The flavors didn’t really stand out to me and I’d be more cline to order a different type of salad. And our pizza was pretty good. Everything on the pizza tasted fresh and the crust was thin… just how I like it! I would definitely come back here for the cheese bread and pizza!

Ingredients were not of high quality. The cheese was suspect. Not worth the calories.

While it is no doubt the best pizza in Ann Arbor, what city’s pizza is not known for is their BBQ wings! you have to try them, they are SOOOOGOOD. easy 5 stars for following reasons 1.Customizable –they were more than happy to do half and half toppings and also bbq sauce on one of our pizza at no extra charge 2.Promptness –They said it will arrive between 35 – 45 minutes. It arrived in 35 minutes. NOICEEE 3.Crust –I don’t know how they do it. The crust is thin, crispy and flavorful. 4.Toppings –Toppings are of high quality, and they never skimp out on the toppings either! I got select pepperoni on half of the pizza and there were at least 8 – 10 slices PERSLICE. NOICEEE 5.BBQWINGS –These are the real deal, the bbq sauce is amazing. It’s not runny, they don’t over sauce it yet there is so much flavor. It’s one of those sticky honey like bbq sauce and it is just awesome. Also, there are little char on the wings that makes them very crispy and amazing. More people should try the wings for sure. One downside is once you start eating, the next thing you know you ate the whole large pizza by yourself.

One of the most underrated Pizza places in the Ann Arbor area, a hidden gem. Pizza and service is fantastic, subs are delicious, and delivery is FAST. Highly recommended.

It pains me to write this but I won’t be eating here again. We left Bigalora at Arbor Hills after being ignored by our waiter for 15 minutes, so we headed to City’s since it’s a local favorite. We pulled in to the parking lot and saw an employee outside shaking off a door mat. He then proceeded to head in to the store, take our order and make our pizza. He did not wash his hands or put on gloves before handling the food. Um, I *just* saw you outside handling a dirty rubber mat that lays on the floor! … I’m so disgusted. I paid for the pizza but won’t be eating it. It’s going in the garbage. I’d normally speak up but we had just left Bigalora after terrible service and I was so dejected already. A very disappointing night for pizza in Ann Arbor.

Fantastic pizza! Had it delivered. It arrived in 30 mins still nice and hot. I ordered the Cleveland and another 2 topping pizza since there was a deal. The garlic butter Parmesan crust was perfect. Way better than dominoes, etc. The pizza dough was buttery and not too heavy, and the toppings had excellent flavor on their own. One of the pizzas had salami, and they were nice thick slices. Would highly recommend!

First meal I ever ate moving to Ann Arbor! Got the Jersey City with the garlic Parmesan crust, and was mighty tasty! It was oily, but the meat toppings were really good, as well as that divinely buttery crust. Was even good cold, and I never eat pizza cold(you make do without a microwave). I like fluffier crust than that, but I’m not complaining. Pizza delivery was fast, not a bad price. I’ll order from here again.

City’s Pizza is my new favorite pizza in the Ann Arbor area. Forget NYPD, forget Pizza House, forget all the rest. I am a light eater generally but my first time ordering here, I ate an entire half of a medium pizza by myself, and could not stop thinking about having the rest for dinner! They allow multiple different kinds of flavored crusts such as garlic butter, parmesan, garlic butter parmesan, or sesame seed. I always get the garlic butter parmesan and it’s the most amazing crust I have ever had! I ordered the Cleveland pizza, and City’s is very willing to exchange toppings(I switched the pepperoni for tomato). Delivery service was extremely quick — I placed my order and 30 minutes later got my pizza, warm and fresh, at my door. Great service, FANTASTIC pizza. There is a delivery fee for orders under $ 25(I think about $ 2.50) but I think it’s well worth the price for the fantastic meal you will be getting without having to leave your couch! Definitely give this place a try if you haven’t already!

Whenever you find yourself picking up the phone to order from a big pizza chain — STOP! And call City’s Pizza instead. You will be glad you did. First, the people working behind the counter actually care: it’s the owners themselves, and they are super friendly and willing to help with suggestions. Second, the pizza is amazing. It’s of the classic type: round, chewy crust around the edge, but thin-ish otherwise and covered by a perfect balance and proportion of toppings. The sauce actually tastes like something, and the cheese is always perfectly melted with a smattering of nicely browned spots. Third, willingness to customize and quality ingredients: I’m a pepperoni-mushroom kinda gal, my husband is a sausage-mushroom kinda guy, and they’ve always been happy to do a half-and-half for us. The mushrooms are fresh, not canned, and sliced delightfully thin. Also — they do flavored crusts. Do yourself a favor, and order the triple threat: butter-garlic-parmesan. You will be very happy you did. Fourth, on Mondays and Wednesdays you can have the best of both worlds: at Banfield’s(the wonderfully dive-y bar next door) you can get a large pizza and a pitcher of cold beer for $ 12.95. It might be the best deal in Ann Arbor! Check it out, you’ll never go back to the chains! Other details and helpful hints: While they do have a couple of chairs and tables in the front, this is primarily a take-out joint. They also carry subs and salads, which I have not had the pleasure of trying. They are not open super late — maybe 11pm.

To Be Determined The reason why i say that is because i feel like it could be better. The wings were very average, and i tried a double pepperoni pizza and a jersey city pizza. The crust was fantastic and the double pepperoni was very good. Now the jersey city pizza was also very good, but i didn’t taste any italian seasoning and the salami topping i could of done without. Now overall it was good, new, and i loved the theme of the food being named after different cities. Now i think the place does have the potential to be a 4 or 5 star place, we will just find out the next time i try this up and coming place.

Yup, I’m a stress eater. And yea, I was under a great amount of stress yesterday. So large pizza, here I come! Right down the gullet. You Unilocalers led me here even though it is only 5 blocks from my house(I’m discovering so many great places to eat nearby, now!). Called and ordered for pick-up. Really friendly person on the line, equally friendly person when I showed up(in pajamas, told you I was stressed). I split my usual pepperoni and pineapple pizza with my S.O. and it was tasty. The regular crust runs on the thin side(which I prefer). The sauce is ridiculously flavorful with lots of herbs to dance around on your palate. Toppings and cheese were good. The only thing is that the crust wasn’t flavorful. Good texture and all but I wanted something subtlety nifty about it. Maybe more sour? Or sweet? or salty? Something about it was just a little bland. They do have flavored crusts so maybe I’ll go that route next time. But I do want a traditional crust that just plain tastes good. Pizza that’s really reasonably priced and not too greasy. I’m salivating for more but there were definitely no leftovers. Yesiree bob, this just might end up being my go-to pizza joint in Ann Arbor.

We ordered a Large Miami and small cheese sticks. The pizza was delicious, quality toppings and being hand tossed makes for a unique pizza. Quality really shows in the ingredients and preparation. Got a chance to chat with the owner while picking up my order, he mentioned fresh toppings(even excluded banana peppers, as they are pre-made) and joked around welcoming criticism online as that would only make feedback better for him. I must say what we ate for this order was really well prepared. My new favorite pizza place in the area, I only wish they would deliver to Ypsilanti Twp.

Far better quality than the assembly-line chain pizza places elsewhere. City offers up a basic«city» themed menu with a number of specialty pizzas, sandwiches & salads. The Atlantic City pizza was our choice today: Special pepperoni, Italian sausage and double mozzarella cheese. The crust is very, very good. Sauce is just right. I had a «Saline Salad» which is your basic club salad. It was a good, no frills salad topped with a lot of turkey, ham and cheese(and per my request, a handful of jalapenos). The owners are great, friendly and very welcoming. Mostly a place for takeout and delivery, but with a few tables, was perfectly okay place to eat in(as we did). We’ll be back again soon.
