I love this family owned place. I have taken my clothes for dry cleaning and/or alterations for over 20 years. Always friendly they are like family. I would recommend them always.

The very kind woman who runs this shop is a master of managing expectations. I brought in my much-abused, much-loved leather tote bag for a spring cleaning. She clucked over it, insisted that the stains would not come out, knocked $ 5 off the price, and told me I was making a mistake leaving it with her and it would take 3 weeks to get back. I picked it up after one week, and it’s pristine. She clearly takes great pride in the quality of her work, and she is a pleasure to talk with. There aren’t many shops like this left — get to her while quality leather cleaning, dry cleaning, and tailoring still exist!

Apparently I have a very unconventional body type for Americans because everything I buy, I have to alter. Thanks, U.S.A!!! Freedom, my tuchus! Luckily I know how to sew so I do most of this myself. But when I have something really difficult, I take it to this brilliant woman. Of course you get what you pay for — and brilliance does come at a price. Then again, I had her alter a fully lined and really detailed thick wool coat. Without the sleeves, but with full torso(taken in in in) and bottom(let out out out), including pockets, the total came to $ 80. I’m sure for simple hem lines, garments in denim, cotton, or other normal thinner fabric, the price is far far below that. Impeccable finishing and sewing. Strong and invisible stitching. Great fit. The turn around time was completely reasonable(a week for my complicated coat). Keep in mind she’s the only one running the shop so she will take some time off for holidays — don’t be a putz and dump a bunch of last minute things on her. Best of all, I find something incredibly soothing about her Romanian accent. She is direct but warm. She always calls me, «Sweetie,» or some variation thereof. She is confident and knows exactly what to do. I really trust her. There are two dressing rooms and you change there so she can take your measurements and pin your garment. She has one of those boxes you stand on, too, for hemlines. She also has dry cleaning but I always put all my clothes through the washer(this is why I can’t have nice things). Call for a quote and let us know what’s the price comparison to other places!
