The HEART&SOLE of the promenade After finding one of my FAVORITE cheese places CLOSEDEARLY I walked into this place and so GLAD I DID! This place is among the newly updated Promenade shops and eateries in Anaheim. And by new it’s been updated and with shops open about year so probably now so maybe NOT so new anymore to those of us who are always down in this area. At any rate this place is pretty cool. Its 3 stores in one. There’s a barber shop in the middle and two men’s shops on the ends. One shop sales clothes and the other HEART&SOLE sales shoes. My Papa Smurf is Mr. GQ smooth ALLTHETIME and I do mean ALLTHETIME. This is a man who dresses up to go to the grocery store. He is ALWAYS to the 9’s. For church, a play, going out to dinner he will kick it up about 10 notches. He is 100% on a bad day! Anywho, he taught my little 6’1 lil bro a thing or two and both have enough clothes and shoes to open a store of their own. So while this might seems like a GREAT thing and for them I’m sure it is for me it just makes life a little DIFFICULT when it comes getting either of them a birthday or Christmas gifts thus I tend to try and start early so I have time. This place is prefect for both! For my preppy casual brother that wants to look cool without ACTUALLY looking like he tried and he doesn’t really have to try all that hard since he got all the GOODGENES and for my dad who doesn’t know how to look bad if he tried. This place fits the bill. As far as I know this place ISNOT one of those chains which is AHHH-MAZING! Most people over the ages of the tween or teen age group and FEMALE don’t necessarily want that matchy-matchy or quadruplet look and that goes for pops and the bro-nator! And looking like Mr. Sloppy Pig with the oversized saggin’ pants, no belt, shirt so big 3 people can sleep in it like a tent with extra material to make sleeping bags. NOT the look they are going for and NOT the look that is here. I found some things for the bro-nator and for Pops, especially with the shoes! LOVE the styles and tht they are REALLEATHER and have structure! For the most part the colors are true to most males and are the typical browns, blacks, tan and grey but eye-spied some bright red, and orange as well. They don’t tend to carry a ton of sizes unless they have them in the back so what you see is what you get which AGAIN is good if you don’t want to walk down the street knowing every other person is ALSO wearing the same shoes. They have loafers, some tennis, but mostly what I’d call the Yuppie, GQ, or metro-guy styles here. So no Air Jordan’s, Reebok, Adidas, Tom or flip flop wearing styles here and frankly it’s refreshing that this store caters to men that have a style beyond the looking like they just woke up and rolled out of bed, without a shower type of thing I see ALLTOOOFTEN with young men today! I’m NOT saying you have to dress in a suit but for Pete sake take a lil pride in the way you dress. No people should NOT be judged by what they’re wearing but let’s face it THEYARE and so are you! An iron never hurt anyone unless it was getting thrown at you! Hahha! If you’re NOT going to iron at least HANGITUP so it’s NOT wrinkled! Anywho, if you’re into something a little different, don’t want to look sloppy, or unkept(which doesn’t mean relaxed or casual) and can APPRECIATENICE things this might be the place for you.

Shoes that are not merely a style, but a lifestyle. There is a fine selection of eclectic boots of lesser known brands. Most notable included a pair of Tweed Houndstooth boots, several fine leather creations, boots that resembled golf shoes and an amazing selection of argyle style socks and stylish hipsterish hats. Connected to the store was a barber shop where supposedly they serve beer, although I didn’t have the opportunity to try this service. On the other side of the barbershop is a modern style haberdashery with hats, jackets, sweaters, shirts, ties and accessories. The entire selection is replete with a fine combination of old fashioned class and modern irony making it a perfect place to shop if you appreciate that sort of style. The items are somewhat expensive for my taste, but for the style of clothing and the type of shop the prices were very much par for the course. Staff was very friendly and supportive, knowledgeable about their products, willing to work with consumers regarding personal needs and styles and soft on the sale. While I am not entirely a fan of the sort of style the store espouses, the entire experience was pleasant and I could even consider changing my style to adopt some of the tweed hats or bow ties for daily use.
