Dickey’s is the McDonalds of BBQ. You can usually get in and out of this location pretty quickly. My fries have always been hot. Overall not bad but there are better BBQ places in Utah county to hit up if you are in the area.

The smoked turkey is fantastic! It is very tender, moist, and flavorful. I like all of their meats but I think the turkey is the best.

Hope you like salt! The ribs are sooooo salty… Not to mention a bit fatty… Salty beans, salty okra, salt salt salt! Brisket was good, but had a few big pieces of fat. Mac n’ cheese… Disappointing. Forget their butter rolls… Not worth the carbs! Kind of a yuck experience.

They have unsweetened iced tea with no sugar packets. «We only carry sweet-n-low». She brings me a cup of sugar from the back. Have they learned nothing from that previous mishap that almost killed that lady? Anyway, the food was good.

The meet was left out too long so when it was served to us it was cold. That made me very nervous serving it to my four-year-old. The very young staff was apologetic and offered us more meat that was heated up a little bit more. The tables and floors were not very clean(sticky). For a good sitdown barbecue and piping hot food served to your table go to rib city in American Fork.

pretty good, but definitely overpriced. there are better places around to go for bbq. they have a good traffic friendly spot to get business though. the last couple restaurants in that spot went out of business though and this one might too since the food is overpriced for the quality.

This is one of my favorite lunch spots. I usually get the one meat plate with sides. Really like the free ice cream and pickles.

Great place to grab a quick lunch. Reasonable price for pit style. Staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. I will return here if back in the area. Had one meat platter. Two sides, very moist beef brisket. BBQ sauces are very good. Went with the sweet. Good value.

Arrived at 12:15, was pretty much empty. Ordered ribs Tuesday special. Ribs were cold and burned. Sides were decent. Ice cream mix was off, I complained and they admitted to much water. Manager was a nice young guy, he gave us two $ 5 off cards because of the problems. This location is struggling, Orem and Draper locations are much better!

I don’t understand why this place has so many poor reviews. I eat there frequently, and I really like it! The polish sausage and green beans and bacon are my favorite. Have celiac disease so have never tried their sandwiches.

I did not have high expectations which I’m glad. Customer service was very friendly which is huge plus in my book, however the food is nothing Rio really remember about. I got the ribs and they were a little tough, the bbq sauce was not my taste. We got a bunch of sides: loaded bake potato casserole(ordinary mash potatoes sprinkled w/cheese and chives), baked beans(Allie a lot of sauce, very plain), potato salad w/dill(not enough potato & way over cooked), coleslaw(I liked it allot, taste like KFC). I will give them thumbs up for there rolls! They give free ice-cream, but it taste like nothing. We had a coupon and that is why we tried it out. I would probably try it again because i heard they have great loaded bake potatoes(except that they charge extra for more sour cream and butter for a ginormous potato)

After reading all the other reviews, I feel strange knowing that I really like this place and that I am giving them 5 stars. Maybe I just love pulled pork, or maybe I don’t know what good food is? We were wondering around the Hobby Lobby and I walked across the parking lot to Dickey’s to use the restroom. I felt bad for just using the facilities, so we decided to eat lunch there. No line and only 3 or 4 other couples eating there. I think there were only 2 workers on shift. It was a Monday and I ordered the daily special, Pulled Pork Sandwich meal(includes 1 large drink &2 sides.) I chose Mac & Cheese & Onion Straws. I think it was $ 7.79 or something. My husband ordered the Chicken Ceasar Salad. I inhaled my sandwich after I drowned it in Dickey’s BBQ Sauce. The meat was so tender and tasty. The Ceasar Salad was delicious. I don’t why someone ordered a salad at a BBQ Pit. The Mac & Cheese was pretty good, but like the other Unilocaler said the Onion Straws were«Way too Salty.» But But BUT! I would like to say that the Giant Jar of Pickles and FREE Ice Cream made up for it! I am so glad I used the restroom there because this place has now become one of my favorite eateries… I went back the next day and ordered the same thing except with the crossed fries instead of the onion straws.

It is what it is… I went to this location shortly after the lunchtime hour and found it odd that the restaurant was empty. I was the only person having lunch there which was odd because this chain normally has good business every time I have gone to them in other states. The food was just okay, the service was the same, with so little business, every employee was busy cleaning other parts of the restaurant except for the person helping me. This really does seem like the type of place that won’t be around long.

This place has been inside joke since we last ate here. Like: «Dude, I really feel like getting neglected and shoving some luke-warm, over-cooked, terrible quality meat marbled with cartilage instead of flavor into my mouth tonight. Off to Dickey’s!»

This place is pretty good fast food if you don’t expect much. For seven bucks you can get a nice-sized sandwich and two sides. With that said, I was really disappointed in the bun as it was dry, heavy, and took away from the taste of the pulled pork. The next time around I will definitely skip the sandwich and just go with a meat plate. The sides that I tried — baked beans, baked potato casserole, and onion tangles — were all good. The spicy cheddar sausage was the highlight. And the free ice cream and free large dill pickles are a nice touch.

It’s bad. It’s very, very, very bad. From the moment we walked in and heard the loud and obnoxious, «Welcome to Dickey’s!» we both knew we should just turn around and walk back out that door. Why, why, why didn’t we do it? We ordered, it took foreeeeever to get our fries and onion thingamabobs(not rings, not even strips, kind of like little tiny pieces someone’d pick out of their teeth). Poor guys working the fryers didn’t speak English and the ditzy cashier wasn’t much help when she asked them to deliver them to the tables. Our meal was still on the high end, even after the«buy one get one half off» coupon was applied. The soda fountain/barbecue sauce area was disgusting. For as long as we were there, no one cleaned it up. They just place a(dingy, dirty) plate over the pickle jar, so I sure wasn’t touching that. The ice cream machine broke halfway into our visit(thanks annoying kids sitting near us – by the way, this place was ridiculously crowded. Does no one know good food, anymore?), so that«free ice cream» was out. The food? My onion things were greasy as heck. I think I downed more oil than I did onion. The meat(I got chopped brisket) was swimming in grease, as well. Everything(including the stuff that came right out after it was fried, thanks to them not knowing where to deliver it despite the stupid sign they gave us to put on the table) was cold. Like, almost ice cold. I got a ridiculously small piece of chicken, too. My husband’s ribs were dry and flavorless — and yes, cold, too. The fries were okay, but who goes to a barbecue place for(cold) fries? You may think that«Welcome to Dickey’s!» ridiculousness is cute at first, maybe even endearing or funny after a few times, but believe me, it wears on you faster than a cheap pair of shoes. Eeeeevery time someone came in: «Welcome to Dickeys!» «Heeeeeey, Dickey’s!» It made it difficult to even remotely enjoy(or just convince myself it was better than it was, because I was hungry) the crummy food. Don’t waste your money. It’s not much more to just go up to Salt Lake and go to Pat’s or Sugarhouse BBQ. Both consistently deliver way better food than the aptly-named Dickey’s ever could.

Talk about a disappointment. For the price you pay, the meat servings are pathetic. The sausage just tastes like something you can buy from any supermarket and are just a couple dinky pieces. The ribs were way dry and hardly any meat on the bones. I did love their pickles, and loaded up on them to make up for the crappy meat. The rolls were good too, and my husband though the jalapeño beans were the best part of his meal. The onion straws were too salty and the baked beans were meh. The mac and cheese was the most awful thing ever, it was over cooked noodles in pretty much cheese flavored water. The baked potato casserole thing was so-so. BBQ sauces weren’t too bad, but were pretty runny which is not my style. The free ice cream was… not good. It was just cheap ice cream that tasted very ice-crystally. Sorry Dickey’s, we wanted to like you and even came back multiple times in the hopes that it would get better. I’ll come grab some beans and rolls and stock up on the pickles, but that’s about it.

I think I am way too critical of BBQ joints. I was raised in Southern California, and in spite of that fact, I was raised on Texas Bar-b-que. Some of the greatest BBQ I have ever tasted is still Joey’s Texas style Bar-B-Que in Chino, California. I hit that place every time I go there. Nothing beats Texas style Brisket and nowhere tops Joey’s. So, the bar has been set fairly high for me when it comes to meat cooked over fire! To add to the dilemma, I lived in Kansas City for two and a half years and learned what ribs should really taste like and discovered the delicacy known as «Burnt Ends». Having traveled all over the world, I can tell you that Kansas City is clearly the leading city when it comes to bar-b-que and I left there spoiled. I am rarely impressed wherever I go to eat BBQ. I love Pat’s in SLC and there was a decent place in Heber City that served Texas style Brisket… outside of those two experiences, every place falls short. It leaves me quite sad truthfully. I have learned that the best smoked meats in Utah are those cooked in my own smoker. Nonetheless, I try. With every Barbecue joint that opens, I go… filled with hope… only to walk away with disappointment. I usually will give these places a second or third visit because, after all, I am a hard critic on BBQ. Well, after three visits to Dickey’s, my judgment has not changed. Great gimmicks with the free ice cream and pickles(catering to pregnant women in the area), but outside of that I am simply not impressed with their meat… and for a BBQ joint, if you don’t have great meat, you don’t got nuttin’! Summary: I miss Joey’s. I miss KCBBQ. I am a critical jerk when it comes to BBQ. Dickey’s is not awful, but it ain’t great either. Just another middle of the road, ho-hum, BBQ joint hoping to fill the void.

Weak BBQ. If your not looking for anything authentic, or if you haven’t had good BBQ in a long time this might do.

While chain restaurants are usually a turn– off, this one is a clear exception: it’s very good. This place competes with Sean’s Smokehouse(in Saratoga Springs) and in my opinion comes close. In most ways Sean’s is better(such as their pulled pork; Dickey’s pork is too dry). In a few ways, however, Dickey’s edges ahead(such as their chopped beef brisket or their killer mac & cheese). Overall I feel Dickey’s is not quite as good as Sean’s Smokehouse. Nevertheless, it is worth a stop if you’re in the BBQ mood and you can’t get out to Saratoga Springs.
