This is my goto location. Every time I’ve been in the staff has been knowledgable and friendly.

«The most expensive tea in the world is the original Da Hong Pao(Big Red Robe) from Wuyi China. In 2002, 20 grams(about 2/3rds of an ounce) of Da Hong Pao sold for 180,000RMB, which is approximately $ 23,000US.» WikiAnswers I had to look this up so I didn’t feel bad spending $ 40 on a tin of tea here. I like teavanna, and that’s not a good thing. They have a great selection of teas. There is a tea for every taste here. The counter is located at the back of the store. You can buy teas by weight or by the cup. Teavanna also does a great job of mixing teas, coming up with some great creations like my purchase today, Maharaja Chai Oolong & Samurai Chai Mate, a perfect blend of a oolong tea and Yerba mate blends. The employees here do their job well, if not too well. While not pushy, they are well trained in making the sale, and selling up. Come in for the free sample of Youthberry, leave with a hard inquiry on your credit report. Tea bag, anyone?

Visited Teavana tonight and even before I entered I was sort of dreading it. However, I went anyway because I wanted to try out a different tea I had read about on their website. And as anticipated the staff pounced and would not let up. It kind of makes for a miserable experience when they won’t let you have time to think and browse without the constant pestering. Teavana needs to teach their staff how to recognize some people like to be left alone and probably some like the constant attention. It’s a shame really because they don’t have any real competition in the local store space, so I don’t understand this type of belligerent up-sell philosophy — I guess it works though or they would try something else. I still bought the tea, but I swear«again» that this will be my last time visiting a Teavana store.

Love having access to my preferred beverage of choice, loose leaf tea, without having to purchase off the INET. Store has a very nice selection of everything from house brand tea fare and accessories to real Japanese tetsubin. They always do a good job of keeping 6 – 8 sample teas steeped for tasting and are very attentive to their customers. Like any other niche market(Americans are reversed on the percentage coffee vs tea compared to rest of the world), you can really spend a little or a lot depending on grade, quality, etc. Pays to be educated going into the store which leads me to the staff. Because Teavana tends to locate in malls, its staff are younger high school or collegiate types who may or may not have any kind of experience or education in teas. I find its hit or miss but they are always helpful nonetheless. Just nota bene that they may simply be reading you the corporate propaganda. Tea selection, which is why I come here, 5 stars! Price is reasonable and competitive compared to internet alternatives. I tend to drink the higher end green and whites which are also readily available and almost always in stock unless a climate event has occurred preventing the grade from being obtained. Teavana as a company also does a lot of blends for Americans who are out for taste, not necessarily pure tea but it is fairly easy to ferret those out. Always a great experience, selection, service and they end up knowing us regulars!

I have been by here several times, both early and late during the day. Every time I have been in, they have been incredibly helpful, and I have found the tea selection to be excellent. They usually have a few different teas for tasting, and you can also order a fresh cup of tea right there if you like. I like to drink the tea while at work in the interest of cutting down the amount of soda I drink. The salespeople I have encountered have always been able to recommend good teas and help me find new ones I might like to try. The only reason they lose a star is because they do tend to be a bit pricey and they don’t open until 10AM.

What started out as a pleasant experience ended in my vow to never shop there again. Let me explain. Just before Christmas I went into the store to purchase a clear glass teapot and a clear glass warmer. I selected a teapot and warmer based upon the sales persons recommendation. In selecting the teapot I asked that it be filled with water so I could see how it poured. I didn’t want one that dribbled. No problems, it poured nicely.(remember that part). The gift was unwrapped after Christmas and used right away. The 1st problem was that the teapot, while seeming to fit the warmer perfectly, was large enough to block the air draft so the candle would not stay lit. In my view, the salesperson should have had experience in this area, and made a different recommendation. Not once while I was selecting warmers was I told about the size compared to the teapot. Anyway, the warmer was returned for a bigger one without incident. The next issue was with the double walled glass teapot. After 2 uses it retained condensation between the glass walls and became very unsightly. We returned it and selected a different teapot. When I asked for it to be filled with water so I could see how it poured I was told NO, they wont do that because they still have to sell it. What? A display model cant be sold because it contained water? Wont it dry out? Will it damage the teapot? If so, then what will HOT water and TEA do to the teapot? Really stupid reasoning, and besides, they let me do it the previous week! Teavana, proper pouring without dribbling is an essential element of a good teapot, especially at your high prices. Allow customers to test this in the store. It’s only water! What harm can it possibly do? Finally, be sure you ask the price of any loose tea. Some of it can be VERY expensive, like $ 60 for a few ounces.
