Great for breakfast all day round and their lunch is good too. Love their spicy hash browns and they have very good lattes. Would definitely recommend, and the wait never seems to be too long!

Went here because a friend recommended it to us. It was just my boyfriend and I on a Saturday morning/afternoon for brunch. We got seated within 5 minutes of being there we started with orange juice which you can get freshly squeezed and that was very good. My boyfriend order the chicken and waffle which he said is pretty decent nothing to rave about. I got the Cajun hash with sunny side up eggs. I liked how crunchy the hash was but all of the seasoning was sitting on the underside of the hash, so when i would take a bite it was a bit much to handle all the powdered seasoning. It would have been nice if they blended in the seasoning as they cooked the hash in instead of putting it all on top. The sunny side eggs were good though. I’ll give them another but for now my overall review of them is that they’re okay standard.

Found a HAIR in my crab omelet. Something was peeking through the omelet so we pulled it out to see what it was and it was a black hair, most likely male.(You can see a picture of it in the photos section). Good thing we spotted it before i took another bite out of it. Clearly, the chef and kitchen staff do not wear proper safety clothes. Immediately after I found a piece of hair I lost my appetite and paid for the check and left. Hopefully the kitchen staff will start wearing a hat or a net to keep this from happening again. So be careful and look through your food for whoever comes here!

Nice spot to grab breakfast if you find yourself in the area. I ordered the lobster benedict, which was one of the specials they had on the menu and was recommended by our waitress. The food came out quickly and was good, nothing amazing but good nonetheless. The service was friendly and the coffee hit the spot.

Love this place! Quick service, decently cheap, great coffee, delicious food. I recommend the crunchy french toast and the home fries. The only thing I’ve ever gotten from here that I haven’t loved is the eggs benedict. Overall, great place for brunch!

Well. I registered just for this post. For the MOSTDISGUSTING dining experience ever in my life. When I was eating a fly came over on my food. Then I told the waitress and she said we can offer you a new one. But, who want to eat after that? We just said no, that’s fine. Just return this for us. When we check out, we found that they are still charging me for that. So the manger came over. ” I am sorry, but you already ate. We want to offer you a new one, you can take home. But you said no. We still have to charge you for that because you already ate.“ WHOWANTSTOHAVEFOODAFTERTHAT??? That just made me sick. Sick. ” oh but you already ate, we want to offer you a new one but you said no” «But you already ate» I still cannot forgive the manger. Or the girl who just claimed herself as manger. The tone, the face she said“but you already ate” looks like«oh you cannot afford food and just trying to get free food» Sadly, this used to be my favorite place. I will not stop posting this to any place I can. Because the manger just insisted charging me for the most disgusting pancake. I can say what I paid for. I paid for it. I mean, I paid.

This is my go to brunch place. Get the chicken and waffles you will not be disappointed. All the times I’ve been here I always ask for recommendations and it always turns out great.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch with a big group of my friends. We waited quite some time since we had a big party. The place is very open and is very spacious and parts of the walls were very hipster like because of the grey wood. Anyways, we were seated and we ordered our drinks. Our drinks came out relatively fast. A few of my friends got the orange juice and that looked really fresh. I got the iced vanilla latte and it was perfectly sweetened with the right amount of ice. Afterwards we placed in our orders. It didn’t take that much time for our food to come out. I ordered the meat lover’s omelette with hash browns and white toast. Union is probably one of the few places in Boston that has hash browns rather than home fries, which I love. The hash browns were perfectly crispy and you still got the potato texture on the bottom. Pair that up with ketchup and it’s bomb. The white toast was nicely toasted and it had a little bit of butter on it to give it some flavor. The omelette was cooked to my expectations. It had ham, sausage, and bacon in it, but I opted out the cheddar cheese for American cheese. It was very soft and it was cooked nicely. I am definitely coming back again to try more things because their menu had so many great things!

3.5 stars. Came here with friends the other day hoping that I would really love it, but I was a little disappointed. I had read the reviews and people were raving about the Cajun Hash, but I personally didn’t think it was anything special. My friends and I also ordered a Crunchy French Toast to share and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It had the perfect crunch and softness to it. And the bananas also added a nice kick! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice as well. Would I come back? I probably would, but I wouldn’t order the Cajun hash again.

Love this breakfast/brunch joint. The egg bomb breakfast sandwich with bacon, sausage, eggs and fresh avocados, is sooooo good and cheap.

Came to Union for brunch on a Sunday morning with a friend. She recommended coming to the Union so I gave it a try. It was pretty busy when we got there about 10:30 but we only had to wait about 10 minutes or so for a table for two. There were so many different items on the menu that I wanted to try but I finally decided upon the Egg Bomb sandwich. It was a bagel with tomato, avocado, cheddar cheese, two fried eggs, and bacon and sausage. Since I’m a vegetarian, I got it without the bacon and sausage. I had heard great things about the home fries so I decided to order a side of those as well. The sandwich came out and it was huge! It was very tasty and the perfect breakfast sandwich for what I was looking for. The avocado was fresh, as where the tomatoes. The two fried eggs were cooked perfectly and the cheddar cheese just melted it all together. I wasn’t very impressed with the home fries, perhaps because mine were cold. Their coffee is phenomenal and I drank about 4 cups. Overall, a nice brunch spot but I know there’s a lot of competition in the area.

Nothing like bottomless coffee to start off your day for the price of $ 2! The waitresses here are always nice and the menu hits all the bases with foods you would like to see for brunch. Pancakes, waffles, eggs benedict, your salty meats… I always like to come here with at least one other person so we can share something both salty and sweet. The crunchy french toast was delicious and lives up to its name with its coating of corn flakes. If you’re feeling up to ice-cream for your very first meal of the day, then by all means go for it because I hear it goes great with the toast. I always fall for the eggs benedict trap, but I’ve noticed that chicken and waffles has made its way to the menu here. Next time I’ll be sure to give that a try :3. Brunch places tend to be overpriced, but this place is reasonable especially for college students within the area!

Very comfortable inside and friendly staff, but the food was just okay. Enjoyed an awesome Illy coffee, but the lobster Benedict was awful and my friends omelette he said was not that great. Also felt like the ketchup on the table tasted strange, but the hash browns an potatoes were good. Would not repeat for food, but maybe for coffee.

Pricey, warm freshly squeezed OJ, long wait for food and waitstaff, on a not busy Sat at 2pm. It’s good, has a nice selection of grub, solid in quality, taste, and a decent selection. They have the best home fries I’ve had in awhile, perfectly seasoned, crispy outside, fluffy well cooked insides. I don’t think the price is worth it and I don’t think it is anything to write home about… You can get the same for cheaper elsewhere. That and warm OJ… really? yuck.

I adore Union’s diverse, unpretentious brunch offerings. Their egg white omelets are heavenly, and paired with hash browns and whole wheat toast, constitute my favorite brunch plate in Boston. Omelets are customizable and hash browns(a weakness of mine) can be substituted for home fries. The sheer range of options makes it impossible to find something you won’t enjoy. As someone who generally shuns meat, there are plenty of dishes to choose from. The location is exceedingly convenient(Harvard Avenue stop on the Green Line) and after a meal, you can explore the heart of Allston. Potential drawbacks: there can be a wait during brunch. At peak hours, the place gets very noisy; this is unavoidable and obviously not a fault of the establishment’s, but it can detract from the experience.

This place was OOOkay, at best. I have had better. The portions are a decent size, and everything on the menu is extremely affordable, but the plates that come out look like I made it myself in the kitchen. It’s that sort of quality and look as well. I don’t think it’s hard to make good brunch but it just wasn’t that great in overall taste. With that being said, it’s basically a place for college students to get away from their campus and get some brunch without paying ridiculous prices. That is good enough to try, however, the waitresses/waiters are all the age of college students and with their young age, comes lack of experience. I’ve gone to school in the area so if I were still at school, I would probably come here to brunch, but if you’re trying to show your friends who are visiting you a good time in Boston, this may not be the best place to do that.

This place is good! I’ve always heard good things about this place and this summer, Union was literally a 1 minute walk from my apartment so why not, right? Brunch is my favorite meal of all time so of course I was excited to check this place out. Service was subpar and upsetting. It took the serve 20 minutes to give us water and take our order. Both my boyfriend and I both having experience in the restaurant industry, we are critics of service. The busy wasn’t THAT busy that you couldn’t even bring us water. She didn’t apologize for taking so long. My water didn’t have ice in it. This place is well priced and they have a lot of options. Regardless, I thought the food was good and would definitely come back again, hopefully with better service.

I would have never tried this place until my friend forced me. I kind of wondered what was inside but never ventured in. Well when I walked in, I was shocked at how big the place was. We sat down and I realized they had fresh coffee and would customize any of their drinks to your liking. I ordered so much food, I thought it would be frail portions but man was I wrong. When not 1, not 2 but three people came with plates of food for my friend and I, we both looked scared… the people around us looked scared. Well we dived in and the food was sooo good. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were flavorful. The bacon boy the bacon was so crispy. I devoured most of my food and had to surrender because it felt like it was never ending. I need to try this place for dinner because they now serve dinner!

I truly love Union. However, the service is horrible. The good is completely phenomenal. Every Time I have gone the food, beverages(the fresh squeezed OJ is a god sent for a hangover cure) and the fresh mimosas have been DELICIOUS! However, I’ve been about 4 times and the service is awful. It usually takes almost 10 minutes just to get beverages but after that everything comes out(food) very quickly. The servers have pretty bad attitudes but I come for the food. I really wish the service was better but I will definitely keep on coming Also if you’re going in the morning on a weekend either go before 9 or after 11 unless you want to wait. Place gets packed quick for the right reasons! Try: omelets, french toast, Belgian waffles, the hash browns. My 4 favorites(so far) also — the fresh squeezed OJ and coffee is AMAZING

When I visited Boston last weekend, we ate brunch here on Friday morning and it was excellent! When I looked at the photos and reviews before getting to Union, I immediately knew I was in for a treat. I absolutely love any type of eggs benedict, so I was thrilled when I saw that the restaurant had a Lobster Eggs Benedict. I didn’t even need to look at the menu to know what I wanted as I am a huge seafood lover… smoked salmon and lobster benedicts are what I live for. The Lobster Benedict certainly lived up to my expectations. I would highly recommend trying it, and definitely order it with avocado and hashbrowns! The hashbrowns were unreal… perfectly crispy! My friend got the Southern Benedict which had the eggs smothered in gravy, and she raved about it. My other friends got a Ham & Cheese Omelette and a make-your-own omelette with cheddar, tomato, mushroom, onion, and sauteed spinach. To drink, we all ordered different coffee drinks. I had a soy latte and it was great! I am so delighted we chose to try Union for a delicious brunch in Boston, and I hope I am able to visit again soon and try more of the dishes(especially the benedicts)! Service was quick as it was not very busy at the time we ordered. All of the server were very friendly and accommodating as well with the additions and customizations we made when we ordered.
