I wrote my five star review below after coming for almost a year. I’ve had to drop it to one because in my huevos rancheros there was a metal piece of the fryer. I did bite the piece and caught it before swallowing it which may have saved me a trip to the hospital. I sadly cannot recommend The Breakfast Club.

I passed by here several times around 10am and almost every time there was a small to medium-sized line. One day I was in the area with a friend and there happened to be no wait so we decided to give it a try. As far as diners look, this is about as classic as it gets. The interior is nicely renovated but has such an old-school design and feel that reminded me of something from an 80s movie. I had the pesto benedict, which was a solid dish throughout — the pesto was a worthy substitute for hollandaise. I also had the coffee oreo milkshake which was seriously fantastic; it was delicious and had great consistency — I highly recommend it. My only knock on The Breakfast Club is that the service was a bit slow despite only half the diner being full when were ordering. This may have been because the layout of the diner made it difficult for the waitresses to see us from the other end. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and am looking forward to coming back!

Old school dinner with insane food and huge portions. Great for the Cambridge crowd and out of town guests. Who can complain about all day breakfast!!! I love the milkshakes, omelets and pancakes. The pancakes are sinful but so worth it. There can sometimes be a line but it moves very fast!

There is a bit of a wait for breakfast/brunch, but the service is quick and they keep people moving-thus, the wait is not very long. The coffee is served piping hot and the energy in the place is awesome! It is a small place, but space is well utilized and doesn’t feel too overcrowded. We ordered«The Princess» Waffles which come with whipped crème and fresh fruit. The waffle itself was delicious, but I would have preferred fresh crème to Cool Whip. The Irish Benny was delicious! I love Stone & Skillet English muffins-and those are the bases for all the Benedict offerings. Yum! Suggestions for improvement: the bathroom needs to be upgraded and serviced more regularly.

I love the food here! Very quick and friendly service, but the place could use a good scrubbing. The laminated menus have a sticky film, the walls and picture frames have liquid stains and hand prints. Please clean! I love this place!

The Breakfast Club is an old school style diner on Western Ave. in the Allston section of Boston with plenty of parking. The menu is diverse and delicious. Yes you get the bottomless cup of coffee and the service is good. There are numerous versions of Eggs Benedicts and lots of egg combo plates. Prices are average for diner food. They also have an awesome entrée menu that’s includes burgers, meatloaf, turkey and chicken.

The layout of the store is rather interesting. There’s all these different sections and each has it’s own particular design and furniture which I don’t really find all that appealing overall. However, my friend and I were able to get this table with these huge couches and aesthetic lamp so it was definitely pretty cool where we were at at the least. In terms of ordering food, you have to order in the front section first at the cashier and then they bring the food over to your table. I got an Eggs Benedict and it was quite delectable! In particular, the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy and the side potatoes were well seasoned. I always think it’s a plus if the price matches the product and in this case it was just perfect. :) If I ever do return with another friend, I hope we get the same table again.

Yum! One of my favorite diner-feeling restaurants in Boston! This place has bomb breakfast and friendly service! The waitress was very helpful with giving recommendations and the food came out quickly. My friend and I both got omelettes, the gucci and the bomblette, and I got an coffee oreo milkshake! The milkshake was SOGOOD. I highly recommend you get one if you come here! The omelettes were also really good; it was perfectly cooked and the flavor of the filling items perfectly blended together.(The omelettes also come with home fries and lots of toast to fill you up!) Really the only downside is the wait because everyone is trying to come here, and you have to wait on a line… which sucks if it is cold. I will definitely be coming back here again for brunch!

Classic looking diner where you will find delicious pancakes, an array of benedicts with stone & skillet English muffins(they are addictive and sold at whole foods! ) and other delicious breakfast items! The coffee keeps flowing and they sell cool t-shirts!

Perfect hungover brunch spot. Sidle up to the counter for a heaping stack of pancakes, hash, bacon, eggs and more. Our group tried and loved: + corned beef hash + chunky monkey pancakes: bananas, chocolate chips, walnuts, drizzled with caramel sauce + hash browns great comfort food, ambience is what you’d expect from a classic diner. Pro tip: English muffins are stone & skillet — the best local baked good!

Great atmosphere! Usually has a line beeeeecause it’s so good. The only thing to know is their eggs Benedict are quite scrumptious. Once I got a salad and I didn’t particularly enjoy it. To be fair you really have to wow me with a salad to impress me. Great French toast!!!

I’m a sucker for American diners because they don’t really exist back home so when I go to the states frequently I make sure I check a few out in the areas I stay. My friend took me here as he knows I have a big boner for the 1980’s, the place was packed and it took about 15 minutes before every table was cleared and cleaned. It must be my dumb thick Aussie accent but the waitress didn’t know what the hell I was saying … «ROOTBEER“which I repeated a few times but she ended up asking my friend what I was going on about. The service was below average, I felt that we just missed their morning rush and it was ok for them to slow down to sloth level and take their time, the menu is fairly large and decent I can’t remember what I had but it had turkey tips and The food was good it came out within 20 minutes of ordering, I only gave this place a 3 because of the disappointing service and the food was great and the 1980’s memorabilia!

What a delicious brunch spot! After hearing many great things, I finally came here for brunch this weekend with two of my friends. First off, I was pleasantly surprised that there is a parking lot for this diner in Allston. It’s a small lot, but saves you a lot of the hassle you usually have in Allston of finding street parking. The diner itself is pretty small. Around noon time, it was pretty packed and there was a bit of a wait, but it went by pretty quickly. The servers were all very friendly and worked efficiently to seat people as quickly as possible. One of my favorite brunch items is the egg’s benedict, and I was beyond excited to see close to 10 different variations of the egg’s benedict on the menu here! I was overwhelmed with options, but opted for the Atlantic benedict(smoked salmon) and shared a stack of banana chocolate chip pancakes with my friends. This was honestly one of the best that I’ve had. The salmon was fresh and flavorful, and the potatoes were well seasoned and savory as well. I enjoyed the pancakes as well, but among the three of us, we weren’t even able to finish the pancakes, since they have such generous portions! The décor of this diner is very old-school diner-feel, with throwback lunch boxes lining the walls and various other decorations. This may be my new brunch spot whenever I’m in town. I can’t wait to come back and try other things on the menu!

In my experience, breakfast at a diner is breakfast at a diner. You know what I mean — a menu exploding with options, all plates come served with multiple side dishes, towers of jelly packets line the tables, and chances are you’ll be called«hon,» by your server. The Breakfast Club offers all of these things and then a little more. We arrived at the Breakfast Club at about 8:30am on a Sunday morning. Even at that early hour, a small line was forming at the door. As there were only two of us, we bypassed the line and found a couple of seats at the counter. This was a great choice, as we were able to watch the operation in action. For breakfast, I ordered The Janitor, a dish served with two eggs, homefries, toast, and homemade corned beef hash. When I was given the option as to whether I wanted the homemade or canned hash, I actually had to pause because there are few things in this world I love more than hash out of a can. I was very happy with my decision. The corned beef wasn’t cubed, but pulled, creating a much heartier texture than the often mushy canned version. The Breakfast Club’s version was also considerably less salty than what you buy at the store and was served with a great crust after being left on a flat-top grill for just long enough. My friend also got the hash, but had his in the form of the BF’s take on eggs benedict. The only point of criticism I can offer is with regards to the homefries. It was clear to me that they were not made to order, rather they had been sitting at a warming station after being cooked in bulk. I find that the potato loses it’s integrity the longer it sits, so that may be something for the diner to consider. The staff at the Breakfast Club are super friendly and responsive. Being from out of town, our server was patient, yet excited, to share her menu favorites with us. You can tell that this is a favorite local spot for the neighborhood, as it seems like everyone that walked in was greeted by name and asked, «The usual?» Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal at the Breakfast Club.

Went here with the boyfriend to grab a bite to eat for breakfast on a rainy weekend morning. There were some spots available at the bar, but we waited about 10 minutes for a table to open up. For our meal, we decided to split a couple of dishes. The first dish we got was the strawberry-pecan french toast topped with whipped cream. This was a good rendition of a classic – not the best french toast I’ve ever had, but a solid choice. The second dish we split was the chicken sausage omelette. This was a decently sized omelette and had a good helping of sausage and veggies inside. Also, the breakfast potatoes were really good, and the bread was great as well. I also opted for a glass of fresh-squeezed orange juice – which was tasty – I just wish they hadn’t gotten rid of all the pulp. Overall, this place is a great little spot to grab a bite for breakfast. The service is friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. Not a bad option for cheap breakfast in Allston.

FAVE breakfast in the Boston area!!! Came here after seeing tons of pictures online about this place, it looked scrumptious and wasn’t very far of a drive.(Plus, they have their private lot which is amazing for parking if you’re used to the parking hassle in the city) Waited about 15 mins in a line outside the door, it did move quite quickly and we requested to wait a couple mins for a booth versus the bar(two people). Once seated, we were greeted very quickly for drinks and handed menus. Got water and one hot coffee(refillable) which tasted great and better than expected for diner coffee. Both got the Basket Case: Comes with toast, eggs, home fries, bacon or sausage or ham, and a side of either french toast or pancakes. Eggs were perfectly over easy, toast was slathered with all the butter you want and more, home fries surprisingly tasty, bacon was so crisp and tasted almost caramelized, sausage was standard breakfast sausage flavor but actually quite tasty. French toast were some of the best I’ve had in awhile, perfectly seared and crispy outside with a lovely soft interior. Loved also the cinnamon shake on top and how they brought individual syrup containers with WARM syrup.(Pet peeve is adding cold syrup sitting on the table to my hot pancakes or french toast) Overall, I had a great breakfast experience here and will most definitely come back again. The prices cannot be beat– specially for the basket case and the value of everything you get. Come now and don’t be scared by the lines! They move quickly. The atmosphere will instantly make you feel cheery and make you want to watch your favorite 80s or 90s classic after you leave. The music is great and overall enhances their old diner feel. I am a fan!

I’ve been coming here for breakfast every now and then for the past year or so. Every time I have a hash and bacon craving. With my recent visit, it marked the end of this chapter as they changed their food. The bacon ain’t the same anymore. I love bacon but not their current choice of bacon. Lacks the bacony flavor. The hash ain’t the same anymore. They used to have a choice of the good olé canned hash. Now it’s only the homemade hash that I don’t like. Too much stuff in it. I like my hash simple. They’ve been good and provided friendly service. Lines are usually out the door on weekend mornings. To beat the line, go wicked early.

Went with the seasonal Harvest Hash(apple, fig, maple sausage, caramelized onions, butternut squash), which came with homefries, two eggs, and toast. The hash was sweet with the fig/apple and salty with the sausage/onions. It was tasty mixed with the eggs and hash browns. Festive addition to the menu that I’d order again! My only complaint was that my toast was pretty thoroughly burnt on the inside – still tasted okay, but did not look good(picture doesn’t show).

The staff won’t give you your table unless your entire party is present. So plan accordingly! The menu has a lot of references to «The Breakfast Club», such as «The Criminal», «The Princess», «Detention», etc. Beverages came pretty fast for my party of 4. I got«The Detention» which included 2 eggs, potato cubes, toast and steak tips or turkey steak tips. The boy ordered the pollo eggs benedict — 2 poached eggs with chicken patties on toasted english muffins. I thought the pollo was awesome and it wasn’t heavy as I thought it would be. The steak tips were a bit tough and harder to chew. I probably wouldn’t get that next time. The pork sausages my other friend got looked pretty legit. They weren’t the shrunken, dry, burnt, oily kind of sausages I’ve usually seen. They were juicy and plumb-looking.
