More like the dump stop, If you’re ever looking to pick a fight with someone in Boston come on down to the bus stop there’s plenty of assholes and scum! Food is awful beer selection is terrible and crack heads everywhere! Beware of the old pervert who roams around the bar

Bottom line rude. Absolutely as rude as can be. For someone who lives extremely close and comes in quite a bit I shrugged it off at first, trying to understand/appreciate this«boston townie» attitude. Maybe acting like this would be semi acceptable if the product being served is able to speak for itself but this is not the case for sub-par bar food. The bartender makes you feel stupid and talks down to you in a highly condescending manner while ordering. I would avoid this place if you are not friends with the owners or live in the houses behind the restaurant. If they don’t know you by name you are screwed.

Dirty. The beer selection is awful. The waitstaff and bartenders look like crackheads, and they are rude unwelcoming and hostile.(Probably because they make no money, this place is always empty). How this place stays open amazes me, If they have $ 1000 in sales per day, I would be amazed. The waitress dropped our check with the food and the bartender was nasty. Don’t come here, the only clientele that they have are toothless, middle aged men with lifelong drinking problems.

The diviest of dives. Well, not quite, but it certainly has carpeted floors. You can never truly trust a bar with carpeted floors. Food was frozen but pretty stellar for what it is, all things considered. Doc, the bartender, is the shit. Make yourself a regular and you’ll appreciate its splendor.

Hard to believe that there is actually a bonafide honky redneck bar in the city. But that is exactly what this is. The giveaways: Buck Hunter game, white people in John Deere hats looking at us funny, BOTH kinds of beer(Bud & Coors). No thanks. The most dead and depressing place to be on a Saturday night. Unbelievably pathetic. Never going back.

This is the place I had my 1st legal drink. Welcoming staff with a cozy feel to the place. But def over run with regular most of which a middle aged men dropping by after work, as per their uniforms/business trucks parked outside. Great food every time I go over there. Service is on moderate speed but food come out hotttt. One of my favorites on the menu is the bruins burger. They know how to cook a burger just the way you like it. They have a pretty wide variety of american food and have mastered their flavors considering they represent themselves to be more of a dive bar. Juke box to the right when you walk in entrance that plays just about anything current. Thanks bus stop for making american food have that extra something special. Cheers

Was working across the street at Smith Park but needed to grab a bite to eat first. Typical bar food fare but the specials is where the rubber meets the rode. They had London Broil, Fish and chips and more that I can’t remember to save my life. But all I do remember is the fact that all three specials were under $ 7. Yes I said under $ 7. I ordered the London Broil with the notion that it was going to be decent enough to scarf down and be on my way. It came out in about 5 minutes which would usually be a bad sign but I was so pleasantly surprised. Ok it was a step above cafeteria food that is pretty accurate but again it was the price for a full plate of solid food. You can’t beat that anywhere and if you can please email me where and I’ll go check it out. I will definitely be back to try another«special» when I’m in the area. Classic dive bar filled with a lot of regulars. Nothing outrageous but can be slightly intimidating if that is not your scene. I’m a townie so it didn’t faze me a bit.

I got to check this place out with a couple of friends after a conference on a Saturday. It’s definitely nothing special and was almost empty when we went. The drinks were cheap though and they were playing the NCAA tournament, which was all we needed. The bar tender was cool and changed the channel so we could watch the game we wanted. Really not much more to report here, but nothing bad to say about the place.

Oh Unilocal my Unilocal I write to you from the dregs of society; the lees of the bars in Boston. At all costs please avoid the bus stop. This«restaurant» is caught between the neverland of too dirty to eat at and too mean to drink at. My friends and I rented half the bar for the evening and were shoved and shouted at all night. I’ve never been to a place that hates their customers more. And for sure the bus stop hates you. Like a date that wants you to eat vegan but never says so or a mother always disappointed, the bus stop will do nothing for you and yours ever. And I mean that. Whole heartedly. Please don’t come here.

Maybe I came at a bad time. But on a Saturday night I expected a lot more… I had read reviews about a diverse crowd, beer pong, and food offerings to help sop up your blood alcohol level. However the place was a bit empty and extremely quiet(I felt like I needed to use my library voice) with a few regulars at the bar and no food since the kitchen was closed. The draft prices were very average with an average selection. Our bartender was very nice and helpful though and the place itself looked good with lots of windows and booth seating.

This is definitely a dive bar… The food stunk but the beverages were ok. The bartender Jim was very friendly… But then again the place was empty.

Ever crave a tasty fish fry and not know where to go? Bus Stop Pub is the only«stop» to make! Affordable, quality and easy to get to. I walked in after being referred to by a close friend. Sorry it took me so long to try.

I was skeptical of this place bc of Unilocal reviews saying they favored regulars… it is true. A group of locals made our way there for dinner one week night, upon sitting down an old blonde bartender barked at us from across the room not to sit down because they don’t serve food? Apparently their kitchen hours are flexible but not in favor of the customer. It was normal dinner time, midweek. There is no reason the kitchen should have been closed. I guess if your thirsty it’s a good place to go. I had no such luck.

The king of ALL dive bars. Buck Hunter, Naked Photo Hunt(which was broken the last time I checked but hey maybe it’s working again?), an awesome-blossom JUKEBOX, cheap drinks, and relaxed management that allows completely obnoxious kids to play drinking games(beer pong, slap cup, flip cup, whateveridowhatiwant). Is it worth going out of your way for? Not quite. Is it a great destination for aggressive day drinking, assuming it’s within walking distance from wherever you live? Definitely.

I don’t get why people love this place? Ok so there is big buck hunter there — the only good thing about it! The drinks are so so, the décor is so outdated and the bartenders are not nice… On to the next one…

Excellent dive-y neighborhood bar in Lower Allston. Delicious, greasy pub food, decent beer selection, and by far the best bartender I’ve ever encountered. I can’t speak to the strength of his cocktails, but this guy is on his game. Leaves you the eff alone until your last sip and then he’s on you like the plague, politely asking if you want another one. I live around the corner from here and can’t wait to become a grizzled old regular like everyone else in this bar.

For a local dive bar/pub, you can’t really ask for much else. I mean, they’ve got a deer head mounted on the wall, with a duck(emblazoned with a Bruins decal) resting on it, a juke box, and a very friendly waitstaff. It’s always clean and the food is cheap and actually quite good. I’ve come in for after-work beers, as well as lunch with my colleagues, and it never disappoints. Obviously, it’s not the classiest joint in the world, but it doesn’t pretend to be, and it hits the spot every time. Today, I got a hot sandwich – the sausage with peppers, onions, and mushrooms, with a side of sweet potato fries, and it was all delicious. My friend got another hot sandwich – steak tips with cheese, with a side of potato salad, and said that her meal was tasty as well. The clientele is always an amusing mix of locals, regulars, and business casual-clad folks, but I think it says a lot that such a vibrant mix of people enjoys coming here for a meal and/or a drink. If you’re looking for a casual good time for either food or beer, I would say to give this place a try.

Ahhhh The Bus Stop, or as it’s affectionately know as throughout the regulars… The Bucket. It’s not quite a dive, but it’s close. It’s a local pub for locals, run by locals. Bar food, cheap drinks and funny staff… ask for Jack when you’re there. He’s one of the best bartenders EVER, with some of the funniest stories.
