I was extremely disappointed with the establishment. FIRST off, you have to traverse a two lane highway on the edge of the mountains that is winding, uphill and downhill. dangerous most definitely if driving at night or dawn. Second, when we got there, the ambience that is pictured, is extremely lacking. with a measly small river in the back, and one small gazebo. not such a big deal after all the buildup from their website. My family came with the inn busy with an event. so we walked around. inside, was this old musty smell, that i did not want to smell for the duration of the evening. Let me make this clear. I LOVEOLDSTYLEANDCLASSIC. BUTTHISWASOLDANDMUSTYSMELLING. its a small inn in the middle of nowhere beside a cornfield and a small river. After 20 minutes of not being asked who we were. what we wanted, we just decided to leave. called and they did not want to even refund or even partially refund. They must have had a great photographer, because the place is not what we expected and does not look like the pictures here. RUSTIC just means it isnt updated to at least make the place nice and accomodating. The Grill is amazingly small too. what a disappointment. Horrible experience. The hostess did not acknowledge us for some time. We were charged twice for a bottle of wine. They refunded the extra charge but kept the tip the same. When I asked to talk to the manager /owner his response was«what’s up?» I have never experienced such rudeness.

Just left from a wonderful weekend at the Edgewater Inn for a family reunion. This is a very quaint and quiet getaway and the home has such great character. The staff, particularly the owner, Keith was everywhere you turned working on something and attending to the guests and was exceptionally friendly. The rooms were well-equipped and the entire premises was very clean, warm, and welcoming. Also, the food was great! I would highly recommend the Edgewater whether it be for a weekend getaway, reunion, or any other event. I can see this being great for a wedding venue as well.

The Edgewater Inn was a central point to meet my college friends for a bit of a mini reunion with our families. The property is tucked away, down a back road in Alexandria, PA. It’s at the end of a long gravel lane, and the grounds themselves are really meticulously maintained. The landscaping is beautiful and the building itself has a lot of charm. It’s right next to the Juniata River with lots of yard in the back to take the family to toss around the football or just relax and watch the ducks play around in the water. My son and I had a fun time catching crayfish in the River. The owners, Keith and Sarah were more than happy to build a bonfire for us to enjoy one evening with the family while the kids played with one another nearby. They were ready to help us out with whatever we needed. Really nice peeps. The restaurant was great too. We had dinner two nights there. The wings. Yes. Do yourself a favor and get the wings. Ask what wing sauces they have that night, they have some unique flavors that were amazing. All in all a really relaxing stay and enjoyable weekend for the family. Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We had a phenomenal stay at the Edgewater Inn. The grounds were very well maintained. The chickens and ducks were a great addition to our stay. The owners were very personable. Keith created us a bonfire on Saturday night and sat with us by the river. The complimentary breakfast was superb. I will definitely be going again next summer.

Brought some friends from out of town in for food and drinks. Bragged about the place to them on the drive there and got them all excited. Arrived to a empty restaurant and bar. Proceeded to order drinks watched bartender make my drink, «habit from being former bartender“and there was barely a shot in it. One thing getting a weak drink from corp. establishment and except it for what it is but a small business in need of business make a drink. I’m not saying over pour but do yourself a favor don’t do a 3 count or use a small shot glass. We were there to have a good time and spend some money but between lack luster service and poor drinks we decided to go to another restaurant for dinner, where we spent a couple hundred dollars. Rumor has it that the business is changing hands, hopefully new owner will live in up there staff.

Decided to take a drive last night for dinner and ended up at Edgewater Acres. Had a great meal, attentive and friendly service, and a nice drive through the country to make a complete evening. Seafood Bisque soup is excellent. There is not really a children’s menu but the kid really liked the adult portion of their chicken tenders. Great for a day trip or consider for a weekend getaway.

This property is gorgeous. The rooms are clean and have character(not like boring hotel rooms and also not gaudy like some B&Bs). My hubby and I stayed here the first night after we were married in Huntingdon. It was perfect. The hostess took the time to make sure we had an extra special suite with a porch and, when we overslept breakfast, made us a special breakfast — of anything we wanted — when we came downstairs! We also hosted our rehearsal dinner here and it was so well-liked that several other family members have decided to have special occasion meals and gatherings here too. The elegant grounds are perfect for weddings, milestone birthdays and just getting away. it’s a peaceful place, with charm, and, perhaps even more importantly, with owners who care and are there!

The rooms are clean, the grounds plentiful and the hostess caring. 20 guest rooms and a dining room flank an historic 1762 farmhouse situated on the Juniata River. Holding back the star count is a 1960’s feeling to the rooms and a small hotel vs B+B feel.
