Busy, comfortable, delicious. The service was at first slow, but once they caught up, they were much more responsive. We had salads. One with steak(it was unevenly cooked) and one with a tuna steak(cooked to well-done perfection). They DO have a good selection for a vegetarian palate. I look forward to returning. If going on a Saturday night, a reservation is helpful for two, and mandatory for any group larger than two.

On my top 5 lists! Never had a bad meal here since it opened. Love the pear salad, crab cakes really do taste like Maryland’s, Cajun linguine shrimp special was fantastic. I ate the whole thing!

Mimi’s serves the best martinis around. The atmosphere is great – I’ve only eaten here a few times, but the food and dining experience were also excellent. It’s such a nice addition to Huntingdon, where the restaurant options are otherwise seriously lacking.

A nice restaurant in a very small town. The appetizers were quite good. My Veal Mediterranean was cooked well but was probably a little excessive on the garlic(which was undercooked). The service was quite attentive. Drinks were a little strong.

We got this amazing present from my husbands secretary. It was 100 dollars card to go to Mimis restaurant. We went together with the children. We ordered a delicious piece of meat for each one. Nora got scallions with a yummy pasta, and my son got fettuccine Alfredo. The attention was just excellent. The waiter was so nice and efficient and fast! Everything really clean. I loved it.

Found this restaurant while passing through the area. We had the mushroom ravioli, French onion soup and Mediterranean pasta. Everything was good. Tried a couple of martins(Mango and Berry) these were unique and enjoyable.

I would give this restaurant 10 stars if that were possible. I don’t get to go here very often, but as a treat it is sublime. Great food, lovely atmosphere and the service is always courteous and welcoming! I have never left this establishment with any sort of regret, and always eagerly anticipate going back soon!

Huntigdon is a small town nestled in the base of the Allegany Mountains, 20 – 25 miles outside of the Penn State/University Park area. Due to the small town feel, the culinary experience is neither diverse or expansive. Most of the town’s eateries consist of local Pizza joints, Fast Food, Dinners, BBQ and a Chinese Buffet. Sometimes fast, comfort food fits the bill and sometimes a better quality meal hits the spot. Mimi’s Restaurant and Martini Bar is a beacon of light shining bright in the areas of amazing food, tasty drink choices and excellent service. The dishes are prepared with fresh ingredients by a staff that takes pride in the preparation and presentation of the dish. The Martini menu is expansive, fun and reasonably priced. The décor is simple, quaint yet elegant and the staff is very friendly. Mimi’s is a true gem that should not be missed if you’re in the town of Huntigdon. Tried: Brazilian Delmonico steak(Medium) with Vegetables and Mashed Potatoes: A large cut of a slightly fatty steak, well-seasoned and cooked on the fire to perfection. I’m not the biggest fan of mashed potatoes but these were made amazingly fresh with a nice texture. Side Salad with Homemade Blue Cheese: — Delicious Pasta Mediterranean: A delicious Mediterranean dish with sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, capers, feta cheese, Kalamata olives, garlic and olive oil. OPA! Margarita: Strong yet well balanced for potency and taste.

The restaurant is the only one of its kind in the area. I’ve gone to this establishment for a number of years now, and the business has gone downhill, from quality of cocktails made at the bar, to portion sizes served. Not to mention, the price is a bit absurd for the finished product you are getting. I’d much rather take a little drive to State College or Altoona if I wanted to pay for a good restaurant experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to family or friends.

the bar staff is always friendly and i am hooked on the Tuscan chicken! i’d say about once a month i treat myself to a solo dinner here and every time i get the Tuscan chicken with extra artichokes. amazing! And make sure you get the Caesar salad too!

Cozy place on one of the main streets of Huntingdon. We had the fried green beans, salmon sandwich, and ravioli. All were good. The décor is nice, but they could use some more interesting music. It sounded like elevator jazz, but I guess you can’t please everyone!

Great staff. Very accommodating and professional. The atmosphere is out of place for this country town. I have been here twice for both family and business dinners. I am very happy to see that Mimi’s has maintained its quality and service over the past 5 years.

Like a little bit of Manhattan in Huntingdon. Great food, good atmosphere but not pretentious. Unique, interesting choices, chef has created a surprisingly original(and delicious) menu. We were out there on a college visit, we live 4 hours away but will be regulars if he ends up attending Juniata. Quite a gem, hidden out in the country.

Really liked it overall. Had the Chesapeake burger; fiancé had crab cake sandwich, and we shared«blue chips» and the sesame ahi tuna appetizers. The chips are their own homemade chips, and they’re really good– crispy, just salty enough. The tuna was excellent. Fiancé pronounced crabcake decent, but not the best he ever had. The burger? It was good, but wasn’t what I expected. For one thing, I asked for medium well but got medium rare. It was so rare that the bun was bloody. That being said, I make it my policy never to send back food, so I went ahead and ate it. It was actually excellent– in fact, the burger itself was so good that the crab imperial(which had too much red bell pepper) on top was more a distraction than anything. I’ve never had meat that rare in my life, but I just might do this again… Beyond the food, Mimi’s has a really nice atmosphere and the service is fast and very friendly. I’m not from here, but from what I’ve seen, this seems like the nicest restaurant in town. Helpful hints: they have a very wide martini selection and a small but decent wine list. It’s a bit loud in the bar area, but not terribly so. The menu has different sections. The sandwiches and«casual» dishes are affordable. The«fine» options are far more expensive, starting around $ 18 but some edging toward $ 30. Certainly not unreasonable, but if you are on a budget, you will most likely be getting a sandwich or a burger here. Oh, and there’s no hostess stand, so when you walk in, just wait and they will come over and seat you. It feels a little awkward because you end up just standing there next to tables where people are eating– but they did seat us very quickly.

We had our best meal at Mimi’s while exploring the Raystown lake area. They didn’t rush us, like many restaurants do. The food was creative, fresh and delicious. The menu is eclectic, although at times it seems it has Italian influences. The restaurant is clean, well decorated. The service is good as well. All in all, a wonderful dinner.

This place has a great atmosphere that you never would expect in a town this small. Inexpensive great food with a friendly staff and tasty martinis. Looking forward to checking this place out again next time I’m in town

The food overall was just ok. We had a sandwich and a wrap which were unimpressive. The fries(sweet potato and sour cream and onion) were awesome, some of the best ive ever had. The desserts were excellent, especially the peanut butter desert.

There is an old saw about Pennsylvania being Philadelphia and Pittsburgh with West Virgina in between. On a weekend exploration of the Huntingdon, PA area we found it to be a very beautiful place but the old saw did pretty much fit. Who woulda knew, that there in the land of the roadhouse and bar food would be a fine dining establishment fit to be in the big city, with an eclectic menu, wonderful décor and excellent service. Highly recommended but you will need a reservation.
