Starbucks

This is a clean Starbucks. Great to work at with lots of space. It’s usually not very busy in the evenings. They have a fireplace and some sofas. They have two big tables for groups. I wish they had more electricity outlets tho.

I usually go here because the baristas are friendly. I’m not a coffee expert and occasionally like to get the mochoa skinny style. It’s usually great but I went over the weekend and got a mochoa which tasted really like artificial sweeteners.

Four people behind the counter, yet only 1 at the cash register and 1 making/​preparing the coffee. Line got longer, yet the staff showed no interest in moving things along. Decided to get an iced coffee instead of an espresso to speed things up, yet it still took forever! Never again at this location!

The staff was excellent they even helped me set up my Starbucks app on my phone. The coffee was excellent and the décor was nice and relaxing. Great way to start my day!

I used a brand new $ 25 Starbucks gift card for the nightmare order described below. Foolish me for not asking for a receipt. The second time I went to use it, I was told there was only $ 0.73 left on the card.
I ordered a Venti Cappuccino and received a cup that was 90% liquid, mostly superheated milk, which the barista first offered to me my «latte». When I asked «you mean my cappuccino?», she said yes. When I felt the heft of the drink, I told her that a cappuccino should not be that much liquid. She offered to remake the drink, and proceeded to make the very same 90% liquid drink. Again, I told her the cappuccino should not be that heavily with milk, that the froth of the steam milk should be spooned into the drink, to which she replied by pointing to the steaming pitcher and saying «I steamed it for 20 seconds». I then asked for a refund as it was clear she did not know how to make a cappuccino. Another barista offered to remake the drink again. She made a cappuccino that was about 60%- still VERY heavy in my book (and according to
) but by that point I just wanted to get out of there as the baristas’ attitudes were not inviting.
I chose to go to this franchise store because I have experienced similar poor barista-​ing at the Starbucks counter at the Barnes and Noble across the street. I am inclined to favor independent shops. The poor quality of training seems to be too wide spread for more trials.

This is the only Starbucks that I’ve ever been to as a «regular» that the baristas don’t greet me by name or have my order ready when I come in. I know that’s not a requirement but many of the other local Starbucks and coffeeshops do. Still though the quality is the same good coffee.
It gets a bit crowded here though. I prefer the ambiance of the one up closer to Albany shaker. It’s got a cold feeling here.

Twice recently, I’ve stopped and grabbed 3 Evolution brand juices, twice at least one, has been past the expiration date. I didn’t think I needed to check the dates myself and got a mouthful of nearly two week expired juice the first time. Figured it was a mistake and bought three more this past Sunday, without checking the dates. Get home and 2 out of 3 are bad. Thankfully I checked before I drank. this time.
2 stars instead of 1, because the staff tends to be so miserable, that I’m throwing on an extra star out of pity.

This Starbucks located across the road from Colonie Center is my favorite location in the Capital District and one of the first locations in the area which opened in the late 1990s.
When I worked in Colonie many moons ago, I used to stop in at this Starbucks every morning on my way into work to pick up coffees, frappuccinos, and caramel macchiatos for me and my coworkers. I still make it a point to stop at this Starbucks location for my caffeine fix whenever I’m in the area. The service here is efficient and friendly and the drinks are made right to my liking (ie nonfat milk, extra shot, no whipped cream).
The layout (seating) has changed slightly, but there is still ample table seating, a few armchairs and a fireplace. There’s plenty of local artwork hanging on the walls and also several power outlets to plugin your computer and devices.
I can setup my laptop and access the free wifi, sip my favorite venti iced mocha drink, chillax, and get some work done in the same visit here.

I stopped in this Starbucks location to try the Caramel Apple Spice; I paid for my drink, only to learn that they were out of Apple Juice. I replaced it with a medium hot chocolate with no extra charge, and they even gave me a card for a free drink the next time I visited. Pretty sweet service!

Standard Starbucks. Not much to say for detail. Clean, fast, etc.
Strong coffee and expensive fancy drinks.
Gets +1 star for having a drive through and being very clean.

This is the best Starbucks location I’ve had the pleasure to eat/​drink at. Drinks are always perfect, but if you aren’t satisfied they will do what they can to accommodate you. Very spacious (I love the armchairs by the fireplace) and the floor-​to-​ceiling windows in the front of the building make for plenty of light, regardless of the time of day.
If you are in the Crossgates/​Colonie Center area, and are craving caffeine, go out of your way for this Starbucks. It’s worth it. Seriously.

Pretty decent Starbucks location. It is a little dark in here though and I find the decorative fireplace a little weird. They should have just left more room for seating. I was amused to see on my way out that they had a giant basket filled with coffee grounds for customer’s gardens. Cute! I am all for re-​using them. Oh, and my coffee was excellent, made just to my specifications. The parking lot here can be a little intense and crowded: drive defensively. :)

I really enjoy this Starbucks. They have a lot of space with a variety of seating: benches, small table and chairs, a large community table, a sofa, and arm chairs next to a fireplace. I used to go here to study when I went to RPI. The service was always great and the staff was very personable. I think this is definitely one of the best Starbucks I’ve been to for a long time.

Your standard Starbucks with all of the usual coffees, teas and baked goods you expect from such an establishment. This is probably my favorite Starbucks in the area for their HUGE, comfy chairs and couches. They also have a nice cozy fireplace, which is a great place to sit and chat on a cold or rainy day. Its location provides that it never gets too crowded, so if you’re looking for a quiet place to study or get some work done, it’s a great choice.
