I have been going to Churchwards for several years
Now. I usually go early because i don’t like crowds.
Lisa and Joe are wonderful folks and know how to run a bar. The drinks are stiff and reasonable. The bar staff is attentive and engaging.
I cannot speak for the evening crowd as it is past
My bed time, however, i hear the same high praise
From young folks who ain’t in bed.

Came here on a Friday night with my girls, the DJ was OK could of had better music. Let me tell you… The guy bartender was a total DICK he looks hispanic ! We asked for adiós & he said they didn’t sell any there. Neither margaritas Or mojitos. Which SUCKS!!! Its either beer or tequila, The dance floor was light weight poppin! We got it turned up in there & after an hour of a couple of shots we left. It was a cool little bar!

Watch out for the troll at the door this guy might be five foot nothing with a f***** up attitude guy thinks he owns the place but in reality you can’t even get in their if he tried the club was great but that stupid security guards are the worst I’ve ever seen. They will take you out for dancing by yourself on the dance floor for just because they want to owner needs to fire all of them and rehired new security as soon as possible this time get more professional help not the thugs off the street corner

Pretty good place to visit during the day. Good selections, reasonable prices. Can grab a burger from the little shop across the street and get no hassle from the staff (as long as you clean up after yourself). Friendly service. OK pours. I don’t go often during club nights, but that’s not really due to the staff, more the clientele. Just a bunch of tools. The kind of people who when they get thrown out for any reason or get passed by at the bar, they scream racism. Yes, I know, Alameda, California is a secret enclave of racists. Ugh. Parking sucks, by the way.

Soon they’re trying to be a club in Alameda. That should speak for itself. The space isn’t terrible, and could have the potential to be pretty cool, but unfortunately this place seems to attract really sketchy people. And no, not being a racist, because there are sketchy white people there as well. They also «couldn’t» make the certain type of drink my friend asked for because it was too «fancy» and «they’re not that kind of place». If you’re charging a cover fee and advertising yourself a club, your bartenders should be able to make anything. It’s not like we asked for 100 year old scotch neat, or Dom Perignon. On top of that, the guys there were really creepy to me and my friends, tried to grab us, and prevent us from leaving as we walked out, and the bouncers didn’t seem to care that we were being harassed. But hey, at least they aren’t The Lemon Tree.

This place really fell off, horrible service from the security to the bar. «We Hit Capacity for Guys» we ended up walking in with some girls and entered a half empty bar. Really? Are you serious? You guys need to cut that out.

During the week its fine. During the weekend they charge $ 5 cover after 9:00pm for a obnoxiously loud DJ who plays there. Then the goon squad comes around and takes your stools away if you happen to be sitting down. I got no explanation but they wear their police like badges to do what they want. This was so stupid and rude that I left after finishing my beer. I now avoid Friday and Saturday nights here to steer clear of the goon squad entirely.

Love this place!!! This is the place to go if you want to have a good time, dance all night, and enjoy yourself. My boyfriend and I double dates here and we all enjoyed ourselves. It’s a great area! And there’s a salsa club across the street! Love it!

Churchward is a good time. Great place to go if you’re near Alameda. Nice large bar.
They play a great variety of music as well.
Sadly, they don’t serve long islands, adiós, and drinks of that caliber due to past issues according to one of the bartenders. Still a great place to go to!

My girlfriends and I were looking for a place to have a couple of drinks and dance after dinner at Havana’s (across the street) and someone mentioned this place.
There was no cover charge.
We had a great time. The dj was awesome and the drinks were strong. The bartender (a guy) was friendly too. I remember the dj saying that DJ Melendez was going to be spinning the tables, but we left before he started… I didn’t want to leave but my girlfriend who drove wanted to head home early boooooo!!!

I was truly surprised to find this small gem on Park Street. I don’t really think of Alameda as a good place to go gets drinks and get your dance on, but Churchward is excellent for both!

I used to come here all the time before I woke up from the party scene and realized that I couldn’t survive off of red bull and tick tacs every day.
I hear in previous reviews… a lot of whiners. A lot of cheep, whiny babies who clearly haven’t figured out the bar scene.
There was a time maybe.. .2011 or 2012 when I partied A LOT. and about 90% of it was done here.
Money talks. TIP YOUR BARTENDERS and you will get service. Its simple. Im glad I figured it out when I turned 21. I mean really its just logical — would one rather make a drink for someone who is going to tip them a $ 20 or some one who is gonna tip them $ 2?

Terrible service and they are RACIST HERE. My friends and I came in, sat there for about 15 minutes. No one greeted us. We tried to wave the bartender down and I definitely saw her give me eye contact but she never walked over she just continued to serve and chat up with the people she was already serving. I did notice majority of the customers were caucasian in there but I didn’t think that they only served that race and no others. I told the security about this as well and he didn’t seem to care either. So f**k this place and everyone who works there.

Pub is not a very fitting name for a dance club. At least it was when I stopped by for a beer one random Saturday evening.
Thump thump thump music and sweaty people do nothing for me. Neither do the sticky floors, disgusting restrooms, or the expensive drinks.
Why it was so packed is completely beyond me. Improperly named and an absolutely awful experience. Never again.
