#103 Usually, we drop in for beers, never food, but… I have heard so much about the food at this place from so many people in my neighborhood that I decided I must try it out. I am a huge fan of German fare, I love a great view while I eat and anything this close to home makes me happy. I arrived around 8:30 one evening to the tiny destination. There were several people at the little bar inside sampling German beers and such – been there, done that– I wanted to sit outside overlooking the marina and the boats. There were lots of people on the patio; however, there was just enough room for my companion and myself. The server greeted us in a less than joyful manner. She was not rude or anything, just not very jovial either. We asked about beer suggestions – you know, like what was her favorite or what was the most popular? She stumbled around the beer menu for a minute and then pretty much forced me to pick my own beer. Fine. I mean, I am the one who has to drink it I suppose. My companion chose a beer as well and we looked at the food menu as we waited. I saw the big pretzel and really wanted that with some great German mustard. I was not majorly hungry but the pretzel sounded perfect. My friend found some things that he thought would hit the spot also. The server brought our beers back and we were ready to order. I asked for the pretzel and she told me they were out of them that evening. So, I went for another dish of a few things to sample but she informed me that the pretzel would not be among the yummies on the sample dish. I get that. But there are like four other things on that plate. Can I not have those other things? Apparently not. She offered no suggestions. No options. Nothing. She just kind of stared at me for not knowing what I wanted. I was thinking to myself, «This is a great opportunity for this server to suggest and sell me hella stuff I would not have otherwise wanted…» But, nope. Nothing. I finally said, «Just give me the fish and chips.» She was making me nervous. My dinner companion chose a few items as well and I added a chicken jalapeño sausage with sauerkraut to my order. We drank our beers and enjoyed the view and the beautiful Bay Area weather as we waited for the food to arrive. I think it was just about this time that I realized I was never coming back to this place – three people decided to light up cigarettes and smoke them while we were sitting there. Okay, I get it, people smoke cigarettes, but right there on the patio where we are eating??? The server brought our food out and I was sure she would tell these people to move their smoking party elsewhere, but nope. She just made sure they were not in need of any more beer as she dropped our food off. Weird. I am still in California, correct? I mean, I was in Georgia for the last few months where smoking is cool in a lot of places, but… ??? All in all the food was«okay,» the service was«blah,» the smoking situation was horrible and the view was«nice.» Will I return? No. And that is too bad, because this was a great beer spot before I decided to dine here. Stephani Frowns for Brotzeit Lokal ;( #ifiwantedcanceriwouldsmokemyself

Wanted to try some German food with friends for Sunday brunch. The dishes for lunch were limited and the first thing the waitress told us was that they were out of cheese, steak and veal, which eliminated quite a few choices. The food we got was ok. The server could not answer any questions I had about the beer selection. They have great mustard and pretzels and the location is very nice.

Oof, really wanted to like this place. Casual German food and beer, on the water? What’s not to like?! Quite a bit actually… We went with a large(ish) party early on a Sunday night: 8 of us(3 kids) at 5:15pm. The waitress didn’t take our food order until 5:55pm, and only after we waved her down. To which she said«Did you need something? I have other tables.» Well. Actually, yes. I’d like to order approximately $ 200 of mediocre wurst and spaetzle please… After finally placing our food order, only half of it came out. After one in our party mentioned it, the remaining pork shank came out with«extra sides» to make up for the delay – too bad we were ready to pay our check by then. And one of many beers we ordered was absolutely the kicked end of the keg, because the dunkel looked like chocolate milk. Gag. tl; dr: overpriced moderate food/bev with a real shitty attitude. No thanks.

Great selection of tap beer and sausage. I had the knack wurst and onion rings with an Icelandic ale. Sausage was very good. Onion rings were thick and fresh cut. Easy walk from hotels off Embarcadero. Would definitely come back.

The food is on par with Gourmet Haus Staudt in redwood city but with a way better view. The beer selection is good with a decent mix of German beers and American micro brews. The outside seating area sometimes has a wait when the weather is nice. The indoor area and bar seating generally does not. The smallish parking lot is full most of the time. Carpooling with a designated driver is a great idea.

Brozeit Lokal is a German restaurant located off 5th avenue by the new Brooklyn Basin area. It has estuary views and views of the boats in the water. Try to have a window seat and enjoy the great view. I ordered the following: Brotzeit Sausage Platter two sausages, cooked sauerkraut, spätzle with warmed bretzel, all for $ 17. I ordered the Brockwurst and Knockwurst, both flavorful sausages. The sauerkraut does not have a strong vinegar taste and the warmed bretzel with mustard, was a nice addition. Speaking of that, these are the sausage choices. House-Made Sausages Bockwurst Chicken, Pork, mild flavor, chervil, juniper Knackwurst All pork, course grind, beer and juniper Merguez All lamb, medium spicy, Moroccan Flavors Bratwurst Pork, cream, white wine, nutmeg Jalapeño Chicken All chicken, jalapeño, medium spicy Nurnberger Traditional Nurnberg style pork & white wine Wurzige(«verzigah») Spicy, chicken & pork«everything sausage» Andouille Smoked pork, spicy(Caggiano Co., Petaluma) Venison Seasonal Venison — Italian Vegan Wheat gluten, eggplant, fennel, red wine, garlic & sweet peppers These are the beer offerings: Beer Cocktails Brotzeit Radler — pilsner, 7-Up & lemonade Dirty Hoe — witte beer & framboise Dirty Blonde — weissbier, belgian triple & cider Mas und Boot Mas 1L Boot 2L Pilsner Weissbier Dunkelweiss Pale Ale and IPA Kölsch I ordered the Pilsner and I thought it was good choice in beer. Brotziet Lokal offers a breakfast, brunch lunch and dinner plus appetizers. The lunch and dinner menu features German favorites such as Schnitzel, Sauerbraten and Leberkase. Definitely returning to the restaurant on the Oakland estuary. Very good service by the wait staff.

Food is great had the fish and chips. My family enjoyed it’s also. kid friendly kid approved. Lol teen approved also! You gotta try it. A little pricey. But nice place! Brotzeit Lokal is an Oakland gem hidden down by the waterfront. They serve delicious German-style food and have a large selection of beer as well. The location is right on the water and makes for an excelling dining view. I personally like to sit outside here in their biergarten — it’s dog friendly and my pup loves to come along :) I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve had here so far but I always tend to go for the sausages. I have tried a few different ones, including the Jalapeño Chicken and the Bratwurst, and they’ve all been really good. You can get one sausage on a roll with a side of fries or salad, or a plate with two sausages and a couple sides. Their Sauerbraten with spaetzel is also really delicious — the steak is fall apart tender and the spaetzel has great flavor. The Bretzel makes for a great starter to share around the table. Service can be a bit aloof at times, especially when sitting outside on a less crowded night. I’ve had to flag servers down before after no one came around for a while, but everyone that’s waited on us has been friendly. Don’t expect to get a cheap dinner here, but the location honestly makes up for the slightly higher prices. Overall I really like this restaurant, and its a great spot to enjoy some delicious German food with a wonderful view.

2 ‘s for the server that Olivia provided. Food and beer get a 4 Over all the restaurant is great. The outside seating is excellent in a hot day. The beer selection is good. The food was awesome. Nothing like meat & beer! For Olivia, not the friendliest. With a dash of rudeness, and a splash of attitude. The rest of the crew was pretty friendly welcoming and attentive. Will definitely try this place again. Looking forward to roll in, in the kayaks. For lunch in the near future.

This place has an amazing view right over the Oakland Estuary. A bit out of the way though and a little hard to find. Use google maps. They have quite a few German beers on tap. Was very happy to see Früh Kölsch among them. We ordered at the bar and had a seat while we waited for a dinner table to open up. We finally got one overlooking the water. View was good but table was awkward. It was long and rectangular so four of would have had to sit next to each other looking out over the water. We would not have been looking at each other. Good was good. Had the mussels that came in a tasty white brew. Also had potato pancakes which were not bad. Service was super slow. They must have been short staffed or something but it took 40 mins for the first dish to come out. Had to re order the potato pancakes. If it were not for the good beer and food, not sure that I would come back.

I wanted so badly to love this place. The setting is promising, tucked down an out of the way lane on the Oakland waterfront with charming harbor views. The menu was hopeful as well. Unfortunately operations didn’t measure up. We got seated faster than expected, but at a bar table. It went downhill from there. The host didn’t mention there would be no table service there. It seemed fairly obvious that someone didn’t show up for their shift, because they were drastically understaffed. We got moved to another table — still in the bar but supposedly with service, but not so much. We waited and waited for service to no avail, & finally begged the bartender to take our order. We had a calamari appetizer that was pretty good. It took almost 2 hours to get our food, which was ok but not at all authentic German and certainly not exceptional by any other standard. I think they comped us one entrée to compensate for the wait. The beer was excellent. With a Groupn and one free entrée the price was reasonable, but at full price would have been outrageous. This is not expensive food to make.

Service was the downfall of our visit. It took 20m to seat our party of 6 which I had no problem with. But then compound that with we never met our server for the next 45m. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks. My wife then got us menu’s from the host station. Our server introduced herself and made an insincere apology about how long everything was taking tonight and that she would be right back to take our order. Another 15m later she finally showed up. Dinner took another 20−25m to show up and by this time it was almost 9pm. Our kids were exhausted. One had fallen asleep during the wait. Dinner was alright. Not the level of Speisekammer by any means. I will try this place again. I have close friends that swear by it. But not a good 1st impression.

Driving along the Embarcadero, you would never have known there was a German restaurant. To get to Brotzeit Lokal, you drive through the Homewood Suites parking lot and the restaurant is located at the back on the edge of the Oakland Estuary. The place is a casual German pub with a large patio area. The inside tables inside was a mixture of regular tables, bar tables and tables with benches by the window with a nice view of the Estuary and Coast Guard Island. There is a decent selection of German and domestic beers. Checking out the menu, our order consisted of: Jäger Schnitzel — pork cutlet with mushroom gravy, spätzle, rotkohl and sauerkraut. The pork cutlet was tender but mushroom gravy needed more mushrooms and the amount of gravy overwhelmed the cutlet. Leberkase — veal meatloaf with spatzel and rotkohl. Had a taste and the meatloaf reminded me of a pressed loaf than a typical meatloaf. Overall, service was friendly and attentive. Nice view from the restaurant. Compared to the German restaurant in Alameda, the beer selection does not come close and the food, though good, is not as good as the other restaurant.

Came here with my family, we are all German from the Bavarian area and this was so bad I will never go back. Make that, my entire family will never go back and that is because the food was so terrible. I ordered the scrambled with sausage, onions, etc… the eggs kept coming to me uncooked with clear parts throughout. I finally asked for two poached eggs instead and both came out as undercooked as you can pretty much get besides just cracking them raw onto a plate. After the 4th time sending the dish back, which was beyond necessary and now I wish I had photographs of it but I was so annoyed I didn’t think about it… I just gave the rest to my aunt and we left NEVER to return to this place. Oh, just remembered we also had the pretzel which came with… get this. GREY mustard with pieces of mushroom in it. Nowhere that I know of in Germany do they serve grey mustard with mushrooms in it. I couldn’t even look at it and had to cover it with a napkin it was revolting just to look at. The pretzel certainly isn’t something to write home about, anyone can make one. Save your money in my opinion and stay at home. Ick, Ugh, Gross, blechhhh. I doubt they will be around another 2 months with food this bad and they are only open 11am-3pm Sat & Sun, prime days for the Embarcadero food scene. I really wish there were more good German restaurants in the bay area but sadly there really aren’t, you just have to know someone or be German like me and have learned from your Oma and your mom. Goodluck to this place…

I agree with one of the previous reviewers from this month J.J. somewhat. I don’t feel like we were duped or mistreated but I do think it’s very pricey and we had major communication issues with our server. We went for a very early dinner today, and there were hardly any tables there, so they were free and open. They had a beer week specials thing that on their menu said extended to the 31st and on their framed thing that sits on the table, which was still out at every table, it said the 30th. The waitress we had at first said that the prix fixe menus were still available to order from, but then when we tried ordering one, she said she has to double check, and then came back and said no it was not available as of yesterday. So why bother wasting our time saying it was still available earlier? Then we had to change our selections. She said they were out of bretzel but we can substitute for bread(which is not the same thing at all). When I asked her about the beer she couldn’t give me any straight answers when I wanted bigger sizes, and then was wrong about one of the beers I did order. It came in a much much smaller size than what she stated. I was getting really annoyed because I feel our waitress just did not know anything. We ordered our food. It was delicious. We had the marinated tri tip(forgot what it’s called) and some sausage and sauerkraut. Everything was just really good and delicious. We also asked for some bread and she said okay, and then we got charged for that, just plain old tasteless bread. I think they should really do better on communication overall. The food was so good that’s why I’m giving it 2 stars. But really they are not the most customer friendly. I think this place can take off so much more if they were better about what they’re offering and prices with customers. After thinking about it for a while, even though the food is really good, I was so annoyed by the service I wouldn’t go back.

So wanted to have a beer with a good friend of mine on Thursday(1-14-2016), and browsed around Unilocal, and found this, and quite a find… Now, to be very honest, I am a big fan of German and German styled beers, particularly Hefe or Weisse-bier. Having said that, I do recommend the Einstock(sp?) — beer from Iceland that they had available. The beers appear to be of a rotating tap style, so what was there today, might not be there in a week or so, but variety is the spice of life, no? So what makes me give it 5 stars? Here’s the list: 1) super-friendly staff — Chris, working behind the bar was helpful, very knowledgeable, had great suggestions, and was totally on it while we were there. 2) food — we both had sausage(different varieties). Although the flavor was not as complex as I might like, it was very obvious that these are not factory-made sausages. The bretzel(pretzel) was lovely and warm, and tasted great. The house hot mustard will spice things up if you need that. The sweet mustard will likely be to most peoples’ taste. The strudel is fantastic, not sweet at all, but the whipped cream and caramel sauce makes for a great flavor combination. With a cup of coffee — divine! 3) Beer — lots of it, and yummy. I had the dark wheat, and then the gold. My friend had the Einstock, as mentioned above, and very, very tasty. 4) atmosphere — nice and open, friendly. Obviously a super-cool place in the summer to be, as it is right on the water. The patio must be so nice(it was raining cats and dogs the night I was there). 5) price — I disagree with other reviewers. It is certainly not cheap, but I felt«I got my money’s worth» and the quality of the food is obvious. Last but not least — they have(for restaurant week), a braised pork shank. A table of folks ordered it, and my only regret was that we did not. The thing was enormous, and smelled, OMG. The table that ordered it attacked it like lions that just brought down a buffalo on «Nature!» Will be back for that pork shank before restaurant week is over… gotta get me some of that! «Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy…» Thanks, Brotzeit Lokal! Support Oakland, drink beer!

Something about this place leaves me sort of annoyed and vowing not to return. The food *is* delicious, so there’s that. It’s very very good. Also, they usually offer a sour beer which makes me happy. Still, this place seems incredibly expensive and there’s something about it that always leaves me feeling less than satisfied… proverbially dirty. It has to do with the way you’re treated, the pricing, etc. I have tried really hard to love this place but always feel l’ve been duped. Also, the owner was rude when I called her about the discrepancy re: a special they advertised on their website.

One thing I can say is that I do not consume enough German food. My lineage mostly consists of a German, Irish, and Danish background(my grandparents last names were Eiden, Schweitzer, Filburn, and Fiedler– like anyone cares). With that being said, one would think I walk around in my spare time wearing lederhosen. Thankfully, I just walk around in dinosaur pajamas, spandex suits, and camo. When I pulled up the other day to the current hotel I am staying at, I pulled down a street I thought I shouldn’t have. I saw a small building, and thought maybe it was a bar. I will see what its about. I took tonight off, I had already put 60 hours of work in 4 days, so I thought I would try to find something to eat that did not consist of In N Out, Taco Bell, or Panda Express. I pushed«Nearby» on my trusty Unilocal App, this place came up. I saw the distance, and that it was German. I put 2 n 2 together and realized that must have been that building I saw! Schwing! It was literally less than a 500 foot walk from my hotel room. The place was not crowded at all(great, since it was Saturday night) — but had a nice amount of people in it. It was a seat yourself gig– with an outdoor patio reminiscent of a biergarten, a bar area, and an inside area. There were some hightops(which I sat at) and the rest picnic style tables. I sat in the bar area, and Chris, was my server(also bartender). He was friendly as can be. He got me started right away with a drink. I looked over the menus(which had apps, sausages, entrees, seasonal items, and beers, sodas, and wines). I decided to get the Jäger Schnitzel plate, along with the bretzel plate w bread and obadzta. Yo, food came quick. And I tell you what. It was such a pleasant surprise. The schnitzel was perfectly thin and crispy. The kraut was some of the best I had, and that spätzle was light, yet powerful. That plate didn’t stand a chance. Then the bretzel came. I forgot how robust Camembert cheese was until then, but it was nice to help soak up the beer. There is also water at the table as well to help. I then asked about getting a t shirt(cool logo had one on wall for sale) for my sis. He said they were out, but got me a drink on the house. Didn’t have to do that, but I wasn’t going to argue! All around, it was a peaceful, pleasant meal that was tasty and in a cool environment. The only non German thing about the place was the music– but I wasn’t complaining– since Van Halen was playing. A hidden gem, not to be missed! I will definitely have to come back. Prost!

Visiting some old and new friends who live in Oakland and upon deciding where to eat for lunch on a Saturday, they immediately thought to take me here. They’ve been several times and this place is a favorite of theirs. The restaurant seems to be serving up some legit German fare with house made spatzle(kind of like a German mac and cheese but I guess there’s no cheese in it), sauerkraut, and a good variety of wurst(German sausages). There’s even a vegan version! The place is a little tucked away from the highway but once we parked in the lot and walked in, what a fab location! It’s right on the water. Perfect place to go on a beautiful sunny afternoon. We sat inside as it was a little chilly out but we still had a marvelous view. What up to the guy stand up paddleboarding with his dog! Too cute. I got the Lokal wurst which is your choice of sausage with side. With fries or salad, it’s $ 13. Potato salad or onion rings bumps it up to $ 14. I chose the Jalapeño chicken. The sausage did not live up to its name, not being spicy at all but it was still flavorful and I enjoyed every bite of it. Kind of reminded me of Top Dog in Berkeley to be honest but with a better bun. $ 13 seems a little pricy for essentially a sausage and fries but the fries were nicely done(I easily polished them off) and the meat is sourced from local farmers that don’t use antibiotics or hormones so that justifies the higher cost. Plus there’s a generous helping of picked vegetables that comes with this combo and you can’t beat that waterfront view! Had no problems with service. Would happily come back here again if I were in the area.

I really enjoyed this place! Went early on a Saturday and was there right as they opened. The patio and view at this place is outstanding! Right on the dock and most of the tables have a view of the water. The beers were mostly German(as they should be) but there were a couple other options. I tried a couple beers all of which were good. I had the sausage sampler which has 2 different kind of sausages, sauerkraut, German noodle salad, and a giant soft pretzel. This plate is what my dreams are made of! SOOOGOOD! That German noodle salad(I forget the real name) was sooo tasty! Especially with the sauerkraut! The sausages were pretty tasty as well and there were a bunch you could choose from. Prices were very reasonable as well. There are not many places where I would go back and order the exact same thing but this was def one of them!

This place is lovely! If you come for the happy hour, it’s a dollar off most drinks and they have some good eats options. We were quite a fan of the hot sauce which is dispensed by using an apothecary-like dropper in an opaque bottle. There are vegan/vegetarian food options, amazing fries. and the best part is how calm it was nestled along the Embarcadero. I loved the scenery, the outdoor seating, and just the vibe. The food and drinks are definitely on the pricier side. PS. Fries are GREAT!

This is actually quite a nice litle place. The view, overlooking an estuary, sailboats; was very different than most of Germany(at least my experience) but the set up of the place itself very much reminded me of little«dumpy» local places over there. There isn’t anything fancy, just good solid food, wooden benches and lots of good beer. It is pricey. I chose the 3 dollar sign category[site won’t update?]-because if you had 2 – 3 beers you would easily get to that amount. I think that’s a function of location and that you pay for premium locations even if not premium«food». I had a very servicable fish and chips(really unique cut on the fries– sort of random and junky). The beer was a nice German import, dunkel. My total was $ 30, I left a $ 10 tip, out of nostalgia for the Drendl clad lovelies of Oktoberfest; the server was a plump little nugget with gorgeous eyes. {Note to self: I have to get my wife some tight black waitress pants and a little order pad.} Our server, though effective and pleasant was not particularly attentive(in the normal U.S. way)-but that fit right in with the overall ambience of the place. It was very German in that respect. There is no rush there to eat and get out, off to some other segment of the rat race. If I came back to this part of the Country again, I would stop in at Brotzeit Lokal.

Dinner was a big disappointment in several ways… We’ve eaten at Brotzeit many time since it’s been open and this was the first time we’ve had a negative experience so I wanted to share that experience. The food has always been excellent but it appears they have a different cook now because the food is clearly different. I’m a fan of schnitzel and have ordered the jaeger schnitzel before and really enjoyed it. This time the meat was coated in paprika, to the point if was red in color, which dominated the taste of the entire dish. The sauce was also different and simply not good. I should have returned it, but I didn’t want to make a scene. The atmosphere was an issue as well. There was a large table of about 6 who were clearly very drunk. The most drunk was drinking large, black cans of beer and had several while we were there. They were yelling and howling throughout our visit. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said there was nothing she could do. A family was actually seated at the next table and within 5 minutes they left. I certainly don’t mind being around people drinking and having a fun time, but this was over the top and made it difficult to carry on our conversations. The final and most upsetting issue happened at the end. We were actually asked to leave to free up our table! I have never been asked that before, in any kind of restaurant, in any locale in the world. We were really insulted. Especially since this happened within 10 minutes of paying the check. The reason given was that they needed the table. Well, that made no sense since 1⁄3 of the tables were already open and there was no line or anyone waiting to be seated. It would have been one thing if there was a line and there was a legitimate need for our table. In that case it might be understandable but for the manager to ask us to move to the bar or deck so the table could be reused. Maybe offer us a beer as compensation. But it was simply wrong for a waitress to come kick us out. As much as I’ve loved this restaurant over the years, I will truly think twice about going back. I don’t know if they have new ownership or management that isn’t at the level of the previous folks, or whatever, but this was an experience that sure rubbed our group the wrong way!

Brotzeit Lokal was recommended by my friend who came here previously for a work function, and raved about it. We came here on a Saturday for lunch to see what the hype is all about. The Saturday we went, the weather was perfect, so we sat outside. Not your traditional bierhaus where there are the super long benches to fit a lot of people, but we ended up sharing with another two people to fit six people on one table. FOOD: Each of us got a sausage platter that comes with two types of sausages. The Wurtzige is by far the best one I had. Slightly spicy(not really to me, but the waitress explained it as medium plus or hot minus), and goes really well with the pretzel. I liked it, and would probably get it again. The sauerkraut was alright too, I wish I had a bit more! Overall, the portions were decent. BEER: Their beer selection is not very extensive, but they do have imports from Belgium and Germany. I will say that you cannot go wrong with any of the choices. A bit on the pricier side for beer, but remember that they are imported! I liked this place, even though it is a little far for me and a bit on the pricier side, I would consider coming here again!

Brotzeit Lokal has a lot to offer. Great location on the water, nice indoor/outdoor seating, and awesome German beer selection. It’s too bad we just happened to get a server that was either having a terrible day, or was just naturally moody and pretentious. Either way, it didn’t make for an enjoyable dining experience. It took about 25 minutes just to have our order taken, and every question or request we had was met with some snide remark. The other servers seemed friendly and engaged with their tables, so this shouldn’t be generalized to the overall customer service. The food isn’t bad for German fare, and you can get Fruh Kolsch(excuse the lack of umlauts) which brings me back to being at the actual Fruh Hofbrau in Cologne. But, I’d rather not take my chances with getting a bad server and instead go to the other German beer gardens in the Oakland and Alameda areas.

Decent beer selection and food, ranging from sausages to typical pub grub. Maybe I stopped by at an «off» moment, but service seemed rather leisurely, despite the place being uncrowded. Something about the clientele seemed«off» too — the overall vibe I got wasn’t anywhere near as open and unpretentious as most Oakland establishments. If anything, the place was rather white, entitled, and judgmental, sort of like what you’d expect of the Marina district or, increasingly, much of San Francisco. All this having been said, the location is rather nice — right on the water, with plenty of room to spread out inside or outside.

Have explored German restaurants in the East Bay, and this is my favorite place so far. House made sausages, spicy whole grain mustard, freshly baked pretzels, and great spaetzle are just some of the items I’ve devoured recently They have an extensive list of draft and bottled German beer as well as locally brewed beers. The spaetzle and views alone merit a visit

Small little bar located in the same parking lot of the Homewood Suites Hotel. German beer and eat. Tried a few of the German beers they had on tap. Bar tender was nice and let me try a few sample before I picked my beer. Service was really friendly. View was great.

Beautiful a hidden Hideaway in Urban Oaktown . I was Craving German Food so I searched my Trusty Unilocal App and Brozeit Lokal popped up. So I jumped into my Trusty Whip Black Beauty and rolled to Brotzeit Lokal . I parked in their parking lot . I rolled in and was Greeted and Seated. I Opted to sit in their Outdoor Biergarten. Their Outdoor Biergarten is very nice and has a great view of the Oakland Estuary. My Server Crystal came and got my order. I ordered off the Happy Hour Menu : I ordered a Dozen Oysters, The Mussels Cooked in Beer and The Andouille Sausage and Fries. My Server Crystal brought my Oysters and Mussels out 10 minutes later . I started on the Oysters first they tasted good but 2 tasted a little different . I didn’t think much of this at the time. But 2 hours later I came down with the worst case of Food Poisoning. This was the only meal I ate all day. This one I ate at 4PM. The Mussels were very Tasty I liked those a lot . I had a Hoe garden Beer. Yummy. Next was the Andouille Sausage and Fries, Very Tasty and Filling. I then had a Mt Tam Pale Ale. Very Smooth and Refreshing. My Server Crystal was very Attentive and Nice. I paid by Discover Card and Rolled Out. This Originally was a Four star review, But the 24 Hour Food Poisoning changed that.
