Este bar es el más antiguo en lo que se refiere a ambiente osuno en Chueca. Muy distendido y agradable puesto que no es como otros de musculocas del barrio que se reúben para presumir de ronceado y mirar por encima del hombro. Con el tiempo han surgido otros bares de osos en la zona que más que gacer competencia se complementan puesto que empiezas en un bar y luego vas yendo al resto. Cuando mejor me lo he pasado ha sido en un día de diario. Nadie va de diva, puedes conocer a gente nueva y hacer amigos… O más. Tienen promoción de 2×1 creo que todos los días.

First off, Hot is a gay bar. It’s also like walking into some sort of a 1970’s San Francisco time warp of a place. If you wonder what happened to the San Francisco clones, the bear one in particular and those with shaved heads and lamb chop side burns, you’ll find coming in here but not until around 1:00am in the morning which is when normal drinking and partying gets started for most gay bars in Chueca.
It’s friendly enough though the patrons gather seem to divide themselves up into clicky little groups of bears (the hairy bodied ones), wolves (those with a little bit more than average hair), otters (those with light hair to hairless). Then amongst the crowd you’ll usually find a few American or British tourists being marked out as targets some of the street hustlers that wander through the crowd.
There is also a pitch black dark area which I would guess is that way in order to serve some other purpose than saving upon electricity but I don’t really know for sure.

Como estamos en la semana del Orgullo, me ha dado por hacer reseñas sobre sitios en Chueca, aunque es un barrio del que he ido perdiendo el interés con el tiempo. En mi opinión, Chueca es el perfecto ejemplo de cómo se ha roto la gallina de los huevos de oro con un barrio, otrora de los más interesantes de Madrid, a base de ofrecer productos cuestionables y precios elevados, en una constante búsqueda de maximizar el beneficio del barrio.
El Hot, por suerte, es uno de esos que resiste el paso del tiempo con relativa deportividad. De los bares más veteranos con respecto al movimiento oso, hubo un tiempo que se convirtió en uno de los lugares de peregrinación para todos los simpatizantes, un lugar de culto no solo para los habituales de Chueca, sino también para los que venían de visita, regularmente.
Pasado este tiempo, el bar sigue siendo uno de esos sitios que, en realidad, parecen sacados de otro tiempo. Tirando a oscuro, mantiene incluso tradiciones tan poco arraigadas en Madrid como la de la hora feliz, con la que puedes conseguir un 2×1 siempre que pidas antes de la hora estipulada.
Y lo cierto es que, quizá ese regustillo a antiguo, a genuino, es lo que sigue haciendo que el bar continúe teniendo su público tras tantos años de historia. Eso y que, como dicen en otro comentario, el trato es de lo mejorcito que te puedes echar a la cara por la zona: amable, agradable y con una sonrisa.

Where to start on this one! This is hairy homo heaven. You will see your muscle bears, your otters, your «classic «bears, everything in here, plus the occasional American tourist loving it all! ;-)

The average age here is thirties to forties, but on weekends and Saturday especially, the age range will vary significantly, as in most of Chueca. You don’t have to be a bear — I walked in there clean shaven and had the best time and made quite a few new friends, Spaniards are very friendly as long as you leave the South Beach or Chelsea attitude back home. That being said, this is not really a place to cruise, do come with a friend. I do recommend you practice your Spanish also — unlike Barcelona, not everyone will understand your English, and generally speaking, you should make the effort to speak Spanish in Madrid. You will find that even if you murder the Spanish language and Cervantes rolls in his grave, like my friend Matt did, you will get more than a few smiles for making the effort.
The rule here is you start the party across the street, at a bar called Enfrente (which literally means, «in front «), and then around 2:00 or so, everyone ends up here. They do have a happy hour nightly until midnight, 2 for 1 on just about anything, but like most of Chueca, everyone is getting sloshed at a bar or still at dinner before midnight, so it will seem sort of dead at that time (once again, I remind all my American friends, dinner time in Madrid is around 10pm, plan accordingly!). Arrive around 1:30 after spending the post-​dinner hour at Enfrente, it will be busy but not crazy busy, so you can walk around, get the lay of the land, find your bartender for the night, etc. The overall vibe here is relaxed, a lot of the guys know each other. The drinks were strong and very fairly priced — not unlike some of the rentboys who will hang out near the bathrooms. Be careful, as Americans or Brits, you will be singled out by the hustlers, a firm and polite «Not interested «is all you need, just keep an eye on your wallet (I recommend you put your wallet in your front pocket in all bars in Chueca when it is wall-​to-​wall people, as will often happen in bars here).
And oh, there is indeed a darkroom in the basement. It is exactly what you think it is.

Es el bar de osos por excelencia en Chueca.
Casi todo el mundo que lo frecuenta primero se toma una caña en el Enfrente y después a eso de las dos se cambia de acera (nunca mejor dicho) para continuar en el HOT.
La gente que frecuenta este sitio es fenotipo Bear y admiradores. A mi el sitio me gusta por que es tranquilo (aunque se llena hasta la bola) y la gente es simpática, generalmente la gente no va ni aque la miren ni a mirar por encima del hombro.
Nunca he tomado copas en este local, porque soy preferentemente de cerveza, el tercio son tres euros.
Hay una zona oscura.

Un bar génial pour tous les bears et ceux qui les aiment. Ambiance sympa, simple et sans chichi. Consos généreuses et pas chères. Le sous-​sol permet de faire plus amplement connaissance. Un endroit où l’on se sent bien tout de suite.
