Instead of posting pictures of the food, I should be posting pictures of myself: «before and after» as this restaurants selling point is Japanese dishes with a super high collagen content which is supposed to make you look younger. At dinner time they serve a beauty hotpot, which looked disgusting to me when it arrived at the table as it looked like lobes of fat but this turned out to be the«surprise egg» of the hotpots! Once they melt they transfer in an extremely chicken-y broth which you can cook your food in. The standard set comes with ground meat, shrimp and a variety of veggies. Once the broth is melted you can also eat the pieces of chicken hidden in the«lobes»(told ya there was a surprise!) and on top you get noodles to finish off your broth. You can order extra’s but I was super full just eating the standard set. At lunch they serve ramen within the same concept, they have this same rich broth as the ramen soup — so they serve it already dissolved with a choice of noodles. On the side they provide two pieces of chicken, alfa-alfa sprouts, spinach, two sheets of seaweed and yuzu peel. Here you can also order extras, I went for some chili. Again, I was pretty full with this one dish. I really liked the collagen broth both during lunch as well as during dinner but I am not 100% convinced yet that I look better after having this meal, I guess I’ll have to return more often to see if eating this will make me fat or beautiful!

A tasty, healthy, and reasonably priced($ 25++ per person) Japanese steamboat. How often do you get all three at the same time? The problem is that it’s just so hard to get a table here. Arrive later than 5:30pm, even on weekdays, and you’ll have to wait over 45 minutes to be seated. This branch doesn’t take reservations. The main draw is the dinner steamboat, which comes with a thick and hearty chicken collagen soup base. The accompanying ingredients are fresh and of quality. They serve chicken ramen only for lunch, with the same delicious soup base. Their marketing claims the soup is made from nothing but organic Japanese chickens and salt. I can believe that — it’s rich but yet clean and refreshing. And tastes of chicken. And salt. They’ve got a cute customer loyalty programme where you get a name card describing you as their«assistant manager». You get promoted to «manager» and beyond as you visit. The rewards are decent — on the second visit, I was offered a choice of edamame or fries. They have high chairs for your toddlers, and mine just loves drinking the soup.
