Sweet 50m lap pool with only$ 1 fee on weekdays and $ 1.30 on weekends. Week day mornings are fairly empty. Even at 10a, the lap pool is shaded by a building so you are swimming in relative shade. The actual lap lane is about 2 lanes when it is crowded, these lanes are what you can count on without having anyone bump into you while you do your laps. There are lockers for 40cents with no in and out privileges. Shower rooms are clean but you need to bring your own soap/shampoo/hair dryer/towel/plastic bags for your wet stuff. Apparently you can use your EZlink card to pay for your swims, so if you had filled up your MRT card, you can use it to pay for the swim fees

If you want to train your Olympic swimming prowess or want to haolian your butterfly strokes, Toa Payoh Swimming Complex is not the place to be. That is unless you have access to the cordoned-off area of the complex where they conduct elite training of national teams. Located at THE heartland of all heartlands, this swimming complex has always been a family-oriented location. The baby pool is just next to the training pool which is also next to the teaching pool. With all these sizes close to each other, the mothers can comfortably sit by the bench below the shade in front of the bathrooms. It is a common sight to see a line of mothers, all eye-balling the pools in front of them. At nights, when the classes are all over and the kids have gone home, you’ll start to see many foreigners. You can tell by the various accents every time you take another breath for your breaststroke.
