Lee Hong Kee Cantonese Roasted was specifically recommended by a friend is a Singapore native, and my visit to the outdoor Tiong Bahru marketplace, this was the only food stall with a huge line. So like a proper Taiwanese person(which I’m not, but let’s pretend), I got in line. 15 minutes later, I was rewarded with a large plate of duck and pork all prepared to perfection. Could have done it more cheaply with individual duck/rice or pork/rice platters, but this was a nice way to sample some of their highlights. Definitely worth making the trip to Tiong Bahru just to try this fantastic food stall.

Awesome, I love this place. Cheap food that is delicious. Kind of a long line but the roast duck rice was definitely worth the wait

I’ve been having this for the longest time, since my mum enjoys going to Tiong Bahru market to meet friends and shop for groceries. The quality of the char siew has always remained constant and the price is amazingly cheap($ 2.50!!!). While it might lose out a little to other more famous joints, this is one of those childhood comfort foods that I will crave when nostalgia strikes.

This Cantonese food place is awesome, and located in Tiong Bahru Market. It has been in business for the past 50 years. The char siew rice($ 2.50) which this place is famous for is absolutely delectable. It comes with a generous serving of thick and chewy char siew with the right amount of savouriness, and it isn’t overly tough for biting into — it is the right amount of crisp and juiciness. There is a generous amount of sweet dark sauce which drowns the meat adequately. If it is not enough, you can always ask the store owner for more.

Being the son of a Cantonese man, I know my Cantonese roasted meats and this… is a winner. Tiong Bahru Market is just one of those places where you wish you were a cow and could have multiple stomaches so that you could eat your bodyweight equivalent in food. There’s just too much good food here! This stall is well known for it’s roasted delights and I’m always torn between eating from this stall or the other of my favourite foods in this food centre. Just about everything that they sell is good here. you really, can’t go wrong if you enjoy char siew, roasted pork and roasted duck.
