Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle

Great place for a cheap plate of soya sauce chicken rice of noodle. Don’t be misled by the price, it is really a large amount of food.
A long queue snakes around the corner, go early as their roasted meat finish fast.

When in Singapore I often follow the simple rule that things are good where there is a long line and by that definition this place should be awesome. The soy sauce chicken rice seems to be the number one dish here so after a long wait I sampled that and the soy sauce chicken noodles.
The prices are good (4.50 SGD for both dishes together) but the quality is just what one can expect at this price. Chicken is spongy and too much bones in (I can accept bones if they ass flavor but not the case here). The soy sauce was not a favorite in flavor, a tad bit iff taste to it. The noodles were better since there we also had the spicy sauce on and that was good but not excellent in any way. I struggle to give this place a good rating as the food is mediocre and the wait is long but I guess the redeeming feature is the low price.

This store is a must try. Although, it might mean that you return to your work a little late during lunch break. There is always a queue at this store, and for damn good reason. the soy sauce chicken that they sell is pretty much as good as it gets for the price.
A plate of soya sauce chicken with rice or noodles cost $ 2.50 and the standard is really superb. I wouldn’t be surprised if this tops the ones they serve in many other restaurants.
tasty, tender and just great. The queues are the only barrier between you and a cheap, wonderful meal.
