TBB Tiong Bahru Bar

This is a great place for all your bar, sports, hanging out, get together needs. With seating both inside and out you can relax with a selection os happy hour drinks.
The food here is really good too — especially the chicken satay, seasoned fries and pizza.

Good drinks, nice bartenders, and good music playing. The pours are a bit small so watch out for that but the drinks are still tasty. Also this place is huge!

They don’t have live bands anymore.
That said, they have an impressive list of American beers. For the life of me, i don’t understand why anyone would focus on American beers as they’re not exactly louded as half decent beer in the world. But. They carry my favorite blue moon.
We ordered crab cakes and buffalo wings. The crab cakes are moist and with real crab meat. The buffalo wings are ordinary, with no dip on the side (I usually like blue cheese).
It’s a chill out place with extensive beer list. I’d hang there again maybe during happy hour as the drinks tend to get expensive.

This can totally be filed under «I so wanted to like this place.»
Their inconsistent service made my maiden voyage here a 2.5, but I’ll round up to 3 since there were some good things.
TBB has a lot going for it– it’s spacious, a wonderful live music venue, has lots of TVs, decent drink specials, and a good amount of people there on weeknights.
I came with my husband and another couple, and we were seated immediately. One of us ordered a drink, and all of us ordered food. The husbands managed to get their Asian inspired tapas first; but the ladies’ pizzas orders never made an appearance. Despite us asking our server twice about the status of our pies, and the server both times confirming that they’re on their way, an hour passes before we get fed up and ask for the manager.
Another server comes over, we calmly explain the situation, and say that if the pizzas are indeed on their way, we should have them comped as we’ve waited way too long. By the look on her face, I knew she didn’t want to do that. So then she goes on to say there isn’t a manager on duty, and that she can relay our concerns when he comes back… tomorrow. Or give him a call. Yup. I will let you come to your own conclusions about that.
We continued to push, saying that we’ll just cancel it and head out. But she insists that the pizza is already done and that cancelling it is not possible. This goes on for a while, until she finally checks with the kitchen. She comes back, acknowledges there was an operational error, then FINALLY decides to give us the pizza for free.
To add insult to injury, we asked for the check as I wolfed down the 2000 and late pizza, only for them to take an additional 20 minutes to run our credit cards and close out our tab.
I’m pretty sure that this place has been around for a while, so I wouldn’t necessarily say this service lapse is a teething problem. I’ll be willing to stop by again, but if I receive similar service, my update won’t be as lenient.

Came here with a friend and we were both really impressed with the live music.
Drinks were good and an overall great place to hangout!

Classic mojito was perfectly minty last night … but looks like the change in bar person has had a negative effect as what little mint there is in thw bottom has not been muddled and the leaves are brown not green???
