Decent veggie wrap… A nice place for a quick coffee and a cup cake!

A popular lunchtime place. They offer pastries, soups, sandwiches, wraps and coffee. I have had the cinnamon bun($ 2) which was soft and fluffy but a tad too sweet for me and the chorizo wrap($ 5) packed full with veg, slices of chorizo and omelette. The pastries are generally under $ 5 and the more substantial lunch stuff(wraps, sandwiches, soups, salads) under $ 10.

This will be a tricky review to write because the okb folks are evolving their business, but let’s give it a shot! :) At present, okb is the local, comfortable-but-not-pretentious bakery/café with a lot of heart… and amazing pastries, with rotating daily specials. Their brownies are the best I’ve ever tried, and believe me, I’ve known many a brownie. Also look out for their lemon tarts, chocolate tarts and sticky buns. For something more substantial, okb has good wraps/sandwiches which are also generously filled. Coming soon, okb will remain a bakery in the daytime but morph into a wine bar in the evenings. Had the chance to preview the menu for that, and it looks like there’ll be a good range of well-priced wine paired with mod Asian cuisine. okb also offers a private function venue on the first level of their shophouse, accommodating up to 15 people with customised menus for sit-down dinners. It’s a charming and warm space, though I think that 15 people at a sit-down meal is a wee bit tight on space. I’m giving it 4 stars, and look forward to updating when I get to try the soon-to-be-opened wine bar.
