The longest standing club in Singapore! Zouk evolves from a classic mambo club, famous for its mambo nights, to a dance club where the world best DJs flock to Asia and will definitely spin at Zouk. The location is huge, 3 levels high and could fit probably 2,500 people. Citibank clear platinum card offers one for one drinks(ALL) throughout the night! Crowd is always good, no rowdy bouncers, no rowdy people around. It’s a pity that this iconic location is going to cease its rental at end of 2015. I do hope that they could get a extension on the moving out date again!

A legendary club with many epic nights, Zouk has been the go to place to see international DJs in Singapore, much less, Southeast Asia for decades. Zouk is actually a collection of 5 clubs, but here, I will stick to the main name sake(also see my review of the Velvet Underground). The main room is huge, with two levels and 3 bars. The sound system is bad *ss, and there are tons of people on weekends. As someone who is relatively new to SG, I have a few interesting observations: 1. The drink ordering queue and system suck. A different person takes the order and the line is nebulous at best. My order has been lost more than a few times. Ugh… 2. Most of the drinks also suck — but that is expected at clubs, so stick to shots and beer 3. Puke. I mean every time, I see at least a few guys throw up at zouk. OK, so people here start drinking/clubbing earlier than in the States, but seems like a few newbies to both who can’t handle the night, and end up hugging the porcelain god 4. It’s also dirt cheap by US standards — for around $ 35 Sing dollars, you can see a top DJ, and I have already seen Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclair, Ferry Corsten, MIss Kittin, etc. Last time I saw PVD in Seattle, it was $ 50USD with no drinks. While a few newer clubs are starting to bring in some talent, Zouk is still the place to see a big show, and one of the few places that can accommodate a good sized crowd. Even with a few issues, it’s still a great internationally renowned club, and for good reasons. Definitely a place to check out!

For all the hardcore party goers this is the place to be. Currently Zouk is the only place that frequently brings in international DJ e. g ferry corsten, dash berlin. This venue is also popular to hirers to host their events Entrance to the club has a very artistic feel, dim colourfull surrounding, carpetted flooring, and ladies with over size handbags i forgot to mention there is a baggage counter, which not many clubs have. No idea how much they charge tho! Dancefloor is frigging hugee, best part it is cemented flooring for all you shufflers, ravers can party till your sole burns off frictions. The audio, lighting, cryo, confetti intensify the crowd hype. So far they have the equipment to make what’s a club a club.

Just partied here a week ago!!! SG you’re so lucky to have Zouk! I had one of the most epic nights here dancing the night away. I wasn’t fond of the high price tag to go in esp since I never pay cover working in the industry but I was in SG on holiday and wanted to see what SG nightlife was all about. Zouk is number 1 in the city! Cover got you 2 drink tickets and since I don’t drink alcohol I got to waters to go when I was ready to leave the club. I danced straight for 4 – 5 hours to the sickest beats! I think it was«kill the noise» that night… whoever that DJ was… he killed it and needs to come to Vegas! I came to dance and that’s what I just did and left Zouk soaked and wet! Ahhh good times… if you love EDM, house, dubstep, etc you have to party at Zouk! Ahhh wish I can come back to SG and party here again one day! Cheers! — Miss Unilocal 2014

«Zouk is not a club. It’s a lifestyle!» I love this place! They play the best music and bring out the hottest DJs! You get two drink coupons with entrance. You can combine five drink vouchers to get a jug(which is actually a lot better deal — trust me, you get more alcohol). I wouldn’t suggest coming before midnight though, even if a major DJ is performing. Like all clubs, it’s pretty dead before then. I am only giving this place four stars though because it usually teems with teeny boppers. Eck.

So now I remember why I stopped going to clubs. Zouk is an amazingly large venue, considering how small everything is in Singapore. However, even with the venues large available capacity, the club was packed like sardines full of «fashionable» young Singaporean Chinese jumping around to techno music. Perhaps it is a combination of my old age and impatience, but in my opinion if it is going to take 30 minutes to purchase an over-priced drink from rude bartenders, I would rather much stay at home with a nice glass of Jack. Just some quick advice, if you have a Citibank credit card, you get two drinks for the price of one over-priced drink in the front bar area.

I have not been here in Ages, but evidently, this place is still hopping. 80s night is awesome. Great vibe and ambience. And right by awesome eateries that open late to cater to the crowd.

Probably the best dance club in general I have been to in my life. I was here for New Clear Sounds, DJ Shadow, Paul Oakenfold, Daft Punk, I could go on. During the day the club services small theatrical troupes and their shows. The club is a bit pricey, from the tickets for the shows to the drinks themselves, but it is worth the ticket price. The set up is small but it is supposed to be that way. The best DJ’s in the world spin here. Zouk is comprised of three clubs and a wine bar. the main club«Zouk» plus«Phuture» and«The Velvet Underground». The wine bar is creatively called«Wine Bar». Yes, all pricey… unfortunately. The one issue I had with them up until I turned 25 was that the Velvet Underground had a 25+ age limit. Now, I completely understand why that is. This is the place that spawned the real club scene in Singapore to what it is today. where others have come and gone after a short while for one reason or another Zouk has been the mainstay on the island for years.

First time in Singapore and I had to go out at least one night to have fun. The one and only Zouk is a historical landmark! It is literally around the corner from the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel so if you’re staying there… you can just walk to the club then try to walk back to your hotel room after drinking and dancing the night away. Hung out mostly in Phuture and Zouk, not so much Velvet Underground. Happy with not only the quality of the sound but also the song selection by the resident DJ’s. Fairly crowded but not so much that you can’t move and get around. When in Singapore… do as the Singaporeans do. The local people love to party, dance, and have fun all night til the morning. Cover charge is a bit steep but at least it came with two drink tickets for the bar. Hip hop and r&b room had a good crowd and the DJ was on point all night. Great music choices, excellent mixing, and the people responded in kind. The house room was also off the hook. Good times!

I don’t like this place. At all. Personally, it just does not adhere to my idea of a good clubbing experience. The place may be big– yes, but it’s simply too crowded on a Wednesday and Saturday night, which are the only two days I club in Singapore. My problem is that they let in too much riffraff, of which bleary eyed half drunks and NS boys determined to land some easy game. Clubbing is supposed to be a classy experienced to me, enjoyed with friends over good music and and good drinks. Zouk provides none of these things for me. My biggest gripe is that we are surrounded by concrete walls, unlike Butter Factory or Avalon where I can look out the pristine glass windows. So for some reason or another I always feel very stifled and warm. I’ve only been there twice, once for a friend’s birthday and a second time to give it another chance because of all the hype around it, and I have been twice disappointed. It is just too unexclusive and altogether unclassy for me.

Zouk is one of the most renowned clubs in Singapore, or in Asia for that matter. As an established nightlife hotspot, Zouk is recognized for its high standards in the clubbing scene and is a club that even tourists often visit when they are in Singapore for vacations. Needless to say, the locals fancy this club as well. Open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the club gets packed when it is nearing 11pm to midnight and on special occasions, can even be fullhouse. The cover charge is $ 23 for ladies and $ 28 for men, inclusive of 2 house pours. The music played at Zouk includes trance and House Music or retro on Mambo Jambo nights on Wednesdays. There are 2 bars within Zouk itself, with a spacious dancefloor in the middle for everyone to groove to the beat. The prices of the drinks are reasonable too. It is indeed a club that has kept its standards high, never failing to give its patrons a rocking good night.

Zouk is probably one of the best-known clubs around and while it is probably the club I’ve been to the most, I’m not exactly crazy about it. I guess the name that it has created for itself makes it easy for friends to agree upon for a night out and it has sort of become the default club among my group of friends. Often way too packed with drunken kids busy grinding one another, it borders slightly on sleazy. The music isn’t brilliant all the time, although I’ve got to admit that they have have pretty good nights here and there. I guess Zouk is a club that holds a certain sentimental value for me, being the first club that I went too when I turned 18, and going back there occasionally is still quite a bit of fun on nights when it isn’t all that crowded.

Zouk is indeed a dying club here in Singapore with so many new clubs opening in the last 3 years. Despite all, I am sure many of us growing up in the late 90’s would have fond memories of this club. Whatever critics say, Zouk still hauls in a good crowd and more importantly, good events and good acts. One of the most stand out genres offered at Zouk would be its Mambo/Retro night which definitely one of a kind. The wine bar at Zouk is also a great place to have a relaxing drink if you’ve outgrown the dancing and shoving!

The granddaddy of all the clubs here in Singapore, Zouk has grown into an institution, or more precisely, a rite of passage for clubbers here in Singapore. While it has changed a lot from the time I first visited almost 11 years ago, the place still draws in the crowds without fail. Without Zouk, there would be no mambo nigihts and all the assorted synchronised dancing. Now that they’ve moved Mambo nights into Phuture(which I consider sacrilegious), the feel and allure of Mambo nights is kinda lost. Which is a pity. However, out of the most recent changes, is the one they did to Velvet Underground. Gone is the exclusivity of the place, now that anyone and everyone can enter. But no matter how much it changes, my feelings for the club that started my clubbing days will always remain number 1 to me.

I know Zouk die hards will probably hate me for only giving this place 2 stars, but i really dont get the hype with this place. First time I went here was back in my late teens and even then, I wasnt a big fan. The place is always insanely crowded. The outside is always littered with drunk people on the street, some completely passed out, others throwing up in the bushes. The inside isnt any better. Sometimes its so crowded its hard to move. And the crowds make it not a fun place to club. Drinks are also pretty expensive. Id say the best place to go in the club is Velvet or the outdoor bar area. I guess the only interesting thing to me would be Mambo Nite. Although I havent frequented it much, it is a very interesting and entertaining sight to see – something that everyone who lives in Singapore should see at least once.

Zouk is an institution in the Singapore night life scene. It’s the club that everyone goes to when they’re 18(or younger, but hush child) — I mean, come on, surely everyone has had fond memories of countless Wednesday nights spent doing coordinated hand actions with another 300 people — and it’s the club that people still go to when they’re slightly/much older. Spaces like Velvet and Wine bar cater for the more mature crowd who still like to get smashed while being surrounded by young people. Oh, and of course Zouk caters for the horny army boys too — what with Phuture playing perpetual grinding music, and being so cramped that you can’t help but dance against the butt of the person in front of you. Zouk keeps its relevance by bringing in excellent DJ acts, and organizing the annual ZoukOut festival which draws in revelers from all over the world. Its renown for being a purveyor of excellent music, and has nights which cater to all tastes. You can get everything from techno to lounge to house to pop, depending on the night and room that you go to. Practically everyone grew up at Zouk, and it’s not uncommon to hear drunk people yelling outside the club that no matter what new places pop up in Singapore, Zouk will always feel like a 2nd home.

Zouk is like one of the best clubs to be in Singapore. It consists of four areas which are Phuture(for your R&B fix), Velvet Underground, Zouk itself and Wine Bar(fin my opinion it sells one of the best peach bellinis in Singapore). I often go to Zouk for Mambo nights(which sadly isn’t held at Zouk anymore) and for their awesome variety of guest DJs such as Steve Aoki, Kaskade, Cosmic Gate.etc. Queuing up at Zouk rarely lasts for more than half an hour(unless it’s a guest DJ). Pay for the entry at Phuture or Velvet Underground and you can access Zouk as well. Wine Bar is also a great place to network. so really, I can’t think of any better place than Zouk to dance the night away.

One of my favorite nightlife haunts since I was at a legal age to drink. One of the oldest dance and music clubs in Singapore, it has been the cornerstone for electronic dance music here. Featuring their regular stable of local DJs and a slew of international acts that graces Zouk’s various consoles. Zouk is sub-divided into 3 main dance halls, that being Zouk the main floor, Phuture and Velvet Underground. Any one business night, they will feature different genres of party music. Guaranteed to get you moving! Look out for the 1-for-1 deals that run from 10pm to midnight and their Citibank promotions that they run at the winebar, a more chilled out area just out of the dance floors. If you’re here in Singapore for the first time and would like to party, look no further, Zouk is the place to be. Expect, Mambo Jumbo and Dancehall/R&B styles on Wednesdays(which is a Ladies’ night as well), Friday for mostly House and progressive sounds, and Trance on Saturdays.

Even though I’ve been away from Singapore for a while now, Zouk remains my favourite club ever. It’s pretty much where I spent my formative clubbing years. I’m of the opinion that it was better before it got all prettified(i.e. the renovation in 2006/7, I forget exactly when) and the crowd suddenly became inundated with posers, but, I have had so many good nights at Zouk that I’ll still give this place five stars even though its current state saddens me whenever I return. It’s most definitely the best place in Singapore to go clubbing if you’re looking for big-name DJs, a world-class soundsystem and great décor. But, having been living in London for a few years now, and, also having gone to Zouk when it was well and truly great, it’s not quite what it used to be. However, I have no doubt that when this place is good, it’s freakin’ awesome and can easily rival any of the top-notch clubs worldwide. Mambo Jambo, Zouk’s longest-running club night, takes place every Wednesday. It’s the night that every true-blue Singaporean must go to at least once in his/her lifetime or his/her citizenship will be revoked. Just kidding! It’s one of the most popular nights around, with the playlist essentially remaining unchanged since the night started. Yes, in other words, it’s a retro night. It’s one of the best nights to go to purely from tourist standpoint. Where else can you see mass co-ordinated synchronised dancing of that standard? It’s no joke that those who don’t know the dance moves can be found in lesser clubs practising the moves before daring to step onto the hallowed ground that is Zouk!
