This place was close to my office and I was attracted by its old HK themed décor. It feels like they are recreating the world of susie wong there. As we sat down, I was also thrilled to discover that they are pumping cantopop from the 80s and 90s. Service was very friendly so that was all good. The not so good part was the food. Char siew was pretty decent but apart from that, everything else(stir-fried kai lan, prawn roe noodle) was too salty. Cantonese food should be light on seasoning so I will not give a passing grade to this place, considering the price as well. Hey, to be a «sum yi tai»(3rd wife) you need to be able to cook better than that! But then I really do appreciate their playlist(more Leslie Cheung, Anita Mui and the Four Heavenly Kings please) so perhaps I will go back for drinks.

Deco is nice but the location is really small. Tried reserving for a table of 10 but seats only go up to 8 and even so, it’s really squeezy. They were really understaffed and I ended up getting my own cutlery even when I had asked for cutlery 3 times. Food was ok but nothing very fantastic. Avoid Friday and weekends as it gets really crowded. The rooftop is gorgeous for hanging out with friends though.

Decent food and interesting décor. We ordered roasted pork, char siew, roasted duck and clay pot rice. The meats were pretty average, can probably find better ones at a dim sum place. Claypot rice was fragrant and they were generous with those yummy chinese sausages. The service ok contrary to reviews I’ve read. They served us a complimentary soup of the day which was a good HK double boiled soup standard. Overall quite happy with the food and will go back again for drinks and chinese tapas.

Call the restaurant directly to make a reservation if Chope does not show you availability for the times you want! My girlfriends and I had Friday lunch here and we sat outdoors. Service was great — the servers checked on us a couple of times and I appreciate that because customers sitting outdoors or some random corner are sometimes forgotten. Our food came fast enough and we finished lunch within the hour(important for everyone to get back to office!) We ordered: Crispy Roast Pork with wanton noodles Vermicelli with Jumbo King Prawn SYT’s Signature XO Carrot Cake The food were all delicious and I’ll be back to try the drinks too!

Décor is very nice. Has that air of trendy, modern spot very well integrated with the traditional Asian decoration Decent food. I’ve had all of these to share with my group. Overall, it took some time for the food to come out and they definitely need to work on how to better manage the queue and on staffing the right number of people so that the guests are not abandoned(Yes, I am indirectly saying that we were. It was so hard to get the attention of the waiter and the food came slow. That combination is not good.) I would say those who are fond of authentic hawker fare would find this place overpriced. It’s definitely a good choice for those who have the budget and the time to wait(*the seatings are not abundant. So if no reservation, I wouldn’t bother.)
