Famished after long hours of shopping with my colleague, we decided to go to JCube for dinner. Piqué Nique was the first eatery we saw when we reached the place, and our mind was set. Yes. We were THAT hungry. Besides, the look of the café was inviting enough for us. It was quite pretty. The skies were already getting dark outside, and I loved that the place wasn’t glared with bright lightings. It was dim and just right. Like in every restaurant or café, the first thing I check when I open the menus is the pricing… Very pricey! Nonetheless, we decided to just try the food. We shared their Texan Fries since the staff was considerate enough to warn us that the portion will be large even for two people. The fries were good. Really good. For desserts, I ordered the Ice Cream Profiterole. Everything was nice except the ice-cream. It wasn’t sweet enough. I’ve tasted countless of vanilla ice-cream, but this wasn’t even creamy and sweet. My colleague who ordered their French Toast drizzled with salted caramel sauce also commented that the sauce tasted purely caramel, not salty. Not sure if this is one place I’d return to; even if the staffs are helpful and friendly.

This is a cute little restaurant in the JCube mall. It is staffed by a few young people(perhaps owners?), who were very polite and friendly. The service was good. The food was average for the most part. I tried the spaghetti and meatballs. The pasta was a bit tough and bland and the sauce lacked spices. Yet, the meatballs had a nice, fresh flavor. I also tried the macaroni and cheese. It was rich and creamy in a homestyle baked format, but there were some dry and unsavory noodles on top. The chili that came with the chili fries was the star of the show. It had a good peppery spice to it and would be good for a bowl itself if they serve it that way. Unfortunately, the prices are extremely high here, coming out to about $ 30 per person. Although there is friendly service, the mediocre food does not come near to commanding such a price.

Interesting name with a unique menu. It is a fancy burger and pasta place, except that they added a twist to all their dishes. I highly recommend getting their chili cheese fries. The fries was all potato and the sauce has a kick to it. That was surprising after trying their meatball spaghetti which was slightly bland. The mac n cheese is great for mushroom lovers — it is almost a stroganoff wanna be except with cheese instead of white sauce. The food was delicious, the service was great but it is likely to be a one time trip for me. The price is way too high for the standard of their food. Almost $ 20 for a plate of mac n cheese is outrageous, even if the ingredients are fresh.

Had a craving for mac&cheese but couldn’t think anywhere in the west to satisfy my cravings until I walked past Piqué Nique at the newly opened JCube and saw mac&cheese in the menu! The place has a very inviting rustic pastel-themed interior — you hardly get such novelty restaurants in the wild wild west of singapore. So I came in and ordered the mac&cheese. They serve it as a side so worrying that it might not fill me, I ordered the crab chowder Boy did I regret that. The mac&cheese was delicious but ultra filling. I loved how the chowder came in this rustic tin can serving, it was served with a bread which was fresh and crisp. A refreshing change to have piqué nique in Jurong, will definitely come back to try their range of breakfast stuff — saw a couple beside me with eggs and the works and it got me planning what I’d order the next time I come here to dine. Have bough their red velvet macarons to go before and it wasn’t that impressive, not as impressive as the food on the menu at least.
