When Botak Jones first opened, it was one of those stalls that stirred a wave of curiosity because it isn’t something you would expect at a hawker centre/coffeeshop. They have an extensive western menu with burgers, steaks, seafood, pasta and so on. I guess I ruined my own experience by heading to the stall during its busy period but I ended up having to wait 1 hour. And honestly, the food wasn’t worth the wait. The chicken chop I had turned out to be a little on the dry side and my friend’s beef was passable if you aren’t overly critical. I like the fact they put spices on top of their fries but that was marred by the fact that the fries were a little soggy. Decent offerings but I wouldn’t say you missed out on anything if you don’t get a chance to try.

It’s nice to have a botak jones near you in case those greasy cravings for sinful burgers and fried goodness hits you anytime of the day while you’re at home. This neighbourhood botak jones outlet in bukit batok is also halal so don’t expect any pork or bacon ingredients. Another outlet in the west side of singapore is in clementi. What’s great is its pre-order service. At this bukit batok outlet, you can call the outlet before you leave the house, pre-order you food and have it ready by the time you come down, so that means no queue-ing. I’ve had the cajun chicken and I like that you can choose the sides — from colesslaw to fries and salad. The chicken was a little bit dry and bland though, I think I might stick to what they do best next time — the burgers. Verdict: It’s a pricey meal for a coffee shop ambience but the portions are generous and the choices are unique.
