Had dinner with colleagues here the other night. We didn’t really eat much, just one main course each, but we were all happy with them. I had sea bass with couscous, which was tasty and done just right. My colleagues had salmon and pork chop. We all cleaned our plates. The bread with chili dip appetizer was good too. I wasn’t too intrigued by the desserts so I skipped that. Overall, the ambience was nice. It was a cool evening with just a few tables occupied. The only bugbear I have is that the chairs were really heavy and every time someone moves it, the entire floor seems to vibrate.

Venue 5⁄5 Food 3.5÷5 Even in the midst of the hazy weather, I had a lovely experience in the greenhouse of Nosh. Nosh is tucked behind the buona vista mrt stop, a short 5 minutes walk. Surprisingly, just exiting the Rochester mall into the Nosh area makes you feel like you’ve entered a beautiful green area! The slope was a little steep and then you make your way up a flight of stairs into the greenhouse area. I keep wondering if I’m gonna drop something into the endless bushes beneath! Service was slow but servers were friendly. The only strange thing that happened was when I asked for a box to pack my unfinished food. I was asked to fill in a form with my name and IC number before they could do so. I have never had that happen before, so that was a really strange experience. We had cracker-like pita served out for our complimentary starter. Flavors were good but the pita was too crunchy. Then we had crab cakes(great flavor, not sure how crabby it was), and pork belly(love it, not too fat)! But our entrees fell short of our expectations. My mushroom risotto was not cooked enough for me, and it was too watery. The only saving grace was its decent truffle flavor! My friend had a fish, which was ok. And we ended our dinner with the date cake, too sweet for the both of us. I would be happy to be back, but there were only 2 special cocktails(no other choices) so that was kind of surprising. And I probably would only have appetizers!

Finally visited Nosh for the first time, but not for their noshes– this time it was for their Quiz Night! I brought a few Unilocalers here for a chill CMYE that involved racking our brains, wondering things like, «What body part is sweet bread made of?» and«Suva is the capital of what country?”* The quiz took place outdoors on Nosh’s beautiful, huge outdoor patio. I was amazed at the amount of teams that participated; it’s really a popular event here! You can have a maximum of 8 members on your team, and of course, no mobile phones allowed while you play. There are 6 categories, 10 questions each, so at the beginning you have to collect 6 sheets of paper to fill in your answers. The quiz master then reads out the questions and gives you time to discuss with your team and write it down. At the end of the round, you give him your answers, he’ll grade it, announce the answers, and then announce how many points each team scores for the round plus their total amount of points. The event itself is 2 hours from 8PM — 10PM, and it runs pretty smoothly. You can always order bar bites or items from Nosh’s regular menu throughout the evening. I ordered their $ 12 nachos and a $ 10 pint of their house beer, which was good enough to last me the entire quiz. Halfway through, they also gave us some red concoction that was meant to be taken as shots; they gave a bottle to each table and it was good for about 8 shots. Overall, I was pleased with the experience and wouldn’t hesitate to become regulars here. So, who wants to be a member of Team Unilocal? I’m accepting applications now! :) – *I’ll save you the Google search. Pancreas and Fiji, respectively!

I went to Nosh with my partner for dinner. We sat outside. Service was good, everyone was attentive and helpful– maybe more so because the restaurant was not full. The ambiance is very nice. But we were disappointed with the food. I had the seabass which was oK, my partner has duck taglietelle which was too dry, and the mix of ingredients were a bit too experimental for our taste. Lava cake was good. I would recommend this place for drinks and a romantic dinner but not with too high expectations on the food.

Last night… I had a early birthday celebration at Nosh. Their staff is very kindly :) Food also highly recommended… Especially the sea bass… Is just perfect for me… The decoration very romantic. With playing soft music… I will come again.

Met a friend for dinner, sat in the covered patio area. Quite comfortable, even with the humidity. Fans, coolers set up. Food was pretty good, simple salads well prepared. My sea bass was perfectly done, just excellent. Staff seemed a bit anxious to move us through-not sure what that was about. I’d recommend, it’s a great location, too.

Nice set place converting an old colonial bungalow into a restaurant and bar. Was there for a business dinner. Staff were very accommodating in trying to fit us into a private space inside the bungalow itself. Service was prompt, and they did their best to leave us with as much privacy as possible. Food was tasty, as expected with a restaurant of this class, and compared to many others around the area. Ambience is fantastic if you were to sit outdoors for dinner at night. Ample ventilation provided. Will definitely come back to this place, whether it be for a normal dinner, or for a specially arranged event.

I enjoyed my experience here; good food, great ambience, esp for brunch on a weekend. I was surprised that it wasn’t more crowded at Noon on a Saturday. Will be back for after dinner drinks
