Mei Heong Yuen Dessert

Dang this place is good! We passed by this place by chance and were attracted by the mouth-​watering plates and bowls of dessert we saw being delivered to the customers.
We got a mix of items, including their almond + sesame shaved snow, walnut paste, and mango pomelo and sago and all were soooo tasty! You can tell they use fresh ingredients and don’t dilute their stuff here.
After we left, we were all craving it and wanting to go back again for more. And then we found out they have one chain store and went there too! Haha.
You can tell it’s a popular place with all the seats taken and high turnover of people coming in and out! The locals eat here too!

This place is quite small but has a variety of desserts to choose from. I opted for the shaved snow ice dessert. The mango snow ice was what I had ordered. It came with diced mango and mango syrup on top. I thought my shaved snow looked funny, because normally it would have looked more like a mountain rather than a straight wall.
It would have been nice if they had more options with toppings, dinner we only had mango, but our shaved snow tasted great! It was not too sweet, but just sweet enough for my husband and I. We had a pretty decent sized dinner and were quite full, but this dessert was just prefect for us. It was a light and fluffy dessert, not too filling and not too overwhelming.
I was really glad that I had bookmarked this place through Unilocal,prior to coming to Singapore. I can’t wait until my next stop here again!

Dessert heaven. I’ve come here on every visit to Singapore and loved every dessert. From the warm sesame soup to the shaved ice with mango slices and pomelo bits. I love this place.

I give 5 stars for the or née here. It’s really good and smooooth and creamy in texture. I’m craving it right now which is why I went to search for the Unilocal link so I can msg it to my friend who is coming back to Singapore soon (she is based in London) so I figured it could be on the list for us to meet and catchup over.
I’ve tried the frozen ice desserts at their other outlet. Eh. Meh if you ask me. But for the or née, solid 5 stars. If I ever get around to trying the other traditional desserts I’ll update this review but when I go there I always end up ordering or née. and I take it away for my parents too who love or née.

I was in sweet tooth heaven here. MHY offers a mouth watering combination of Chinese desserts that all look appealing. I could have ordered any of the 30 – 40 items sold here. Located near the ION Food Opera, this crammed place is filled with patrons who are all in a state of peace because the desserts are out of this world delicious.
While there today, I sampled the walnut soup, the sesame red bean shaved ice (it looks like frozen grey dirt water bit trust me, it’s muy delicioso!), and a mango, shaved ice, with pomelo sago.
All three were off the charts. Will be coming here again.

Durian Snow Ice!
I know what I am going to have for dessert the moment I step inside Mei Heong Yuen Dessert in Ion Orchard!
Snow Ice is a Taiwanese dessert, not to be mistaken as Shaved Ice. Snow Ice is made with a combination of cream, milk, water, sugar and then frozen and shaved. And what made the snow ice at Mei Heong Yuen Dessert quite unique is they take the flavour one step up from just adding the syrup on top.
For the Snow Ice you ordered here, the Snow Ice itself is infused with that particular flavour and they have just so many to choose from. But for me, of course is the Durian Snow Ice (SPD$ 5)!
It is one of the best Durian desserts I ever had! The taste and the texture, something I wish I can experience more often!
When the waitress gave me 2 spoons, I told her I just need one.
I finished the whole thing by myself! This is one of the dessert that I would never share no matter how much I love you!
