thank god for fast food like this when you have only few hours left in the city and couldn’t leave without tasting their world renowned hainanese chicken. i was satisfied for now.

Had the small portion of Hainanese Chicken Rice(only 6SGD). It was pretty good and the size was good enough for me. The chicken came with rice, and a bowl of soup. I had the chicken drumstick rice. The chicken was tender and juicy. The rice and soup were tasty. Sergeant is inside the ION Orchard Food Opera. The staff is sweet and helpful.

Growing up in the US, we all know that we should never have any sort of expectations when i comes to food court food, not one bit, not one once, nada! I didn’t know what to expect when my friends took me here for food. In my head i was like«i didn’t fly 21 hours to come here for food court food». I guess the moral of this story is to expect the unexpected. Because i was blown off my seat! I had to try the Roasted Hainan chicken because we cant’ find it in Norcal. The meat was so juicy and tender and the skin had absolutely no fat attached to it. It’s like they removed all the fat and placed the skin back onto the chicken. The best part of the meal was that the chicken was boneless. The rice was not too oily and you can really taste how fragrant it is, the rice wasn’t too soft and wasn’t too hard. The regular hainan chicken was also good but not as good as the roasted one, i felt that the roasted one had more flavor to the chicken. There’s nothing for me to complain about. And for around 5 to 6USD the portion is what you pay for, it’s not too large of portion but for Asia’s standard it’s reasonable. Life would never be the same for me again, how can i get at any food courts in the states now?

Sergeant Hainanese Chicken Rice is on my to try list during my short stay in Singapore… Too many food and too little time! I am glad that they have a location at Food Opera in Ion Orchard. Quick, Fast and Tasty… Portion is great as I am able to try out other food and eat more food! What’s next?!
