This place has the best location and is a fancy place to get your local fare. Never knew the name but I’ve walked past this place like since 10 years ago. Tried the Chicken Rice and I must say it’s hotel standard. The meat is tender and comes in copious amount. The rice is fragrant and the whole set is displayed in a neat and very appetizing way. The crème bulee was sweet and pretty good too. The menu is not overwhelmingly difficult to read and there’s all your local and Western stuff. I hear the burger is not bad too, but I wanna try the Char Kway Teow and Laksa Lemak the next time I’m here.

Perfect place to get your alcohol fix in the afternoon or at night and also people watch. Staffs are friendly except one pinoy with short hair who’s very bitchy and seems fake. It does get kinda hot though, I wish they could always turn the fan into high speed all the time, otherwise it’s pretty stuffy. There is a smoking area at the corner which is great. I always appreciate cafes or restaurants who cater to smokers. Don’t get food here though, there are much better options around the area.

Grab a beer here and people watch, but Go eat somewhere better not far down the street.

Drinking: good selection of beers other than Tiger on tap. Drank here with colleagues on three separate nights. Good, amiable service. Ordered some bar food: truffle fries; satay. Average. People watching: excellent. Eating: was looking for something quick and easy on my last night in SG. Scanned the menu and saw NZ Wagyu Ribeye for S$ 70. I was interested! Ordered medium and got a nice medium with nice grill marks, about 20 mm thick. Was the juiciest steak I have ever eaten, including other Wagyu! Every bite was juicy and rich. The Chilean Cabernet whose name I have forgotten was a pricey(S$ 25/glass) but good accompaniment. The frites were standard, thin cut 5 mm square fries. Such a great piece of meat deserves thicker, hand cut fries. Next time I am in SG and have a hankering for steak, I will come back here.

Upon walking past Crossroads Café one morning I noticed a sign offering a discounted breakfast buffet for guests who were willing to sit outside. S$ 32++ was the price — still not cheap but better than the S$ 50++ it would have cost by sitting inside. Let me start with the positive. The selection is absolutely amazing. If you can’t find anything to eat, then we need to have a different discussion. Their cappuccinos are from Illy — their beans are of a high standard and drinking coffee becomes an instant pleasure. As for the issues. Everything has sugar in it and is made extra sweet(roti prata, yoghurt, bircher müsli, etc.) — aspartame-laced, perhaps. Not the best for you or your body. In addition, they use genetically modified(GM) oils to cook their dishes. When their omelette Chef started taking the canola oil can to spray on my eggs, I almost lost it. I tend to(try and) reeducate people on the risks of these GM foods, yet the Chef tried to convince me that it was indeed healthy(does that mean everything is booked with Canola Oil??). The scenario turned somewhat comical when the caucasian Chef — overhearing our conversation — sprinted over to the station and immediately confirmed that the dish could of course be made just as I requested. So I am happy to report that they understand the risks but I guess in order to maximize their contribution margins and minimize food cost, they look the other way. If you don’t care for your health for at least one day a week, eat here!

Food was still delish thou my order was not correct. Great place to people watch. Ordered the Waygu truffle burger and milk shake. Never got the shake and they recommended my burger medium well. I ordered it medium rare and got it medium. :(. It still tastes good.

Smacked between Scotts Road and Orchard Road, this is a perfect place for a drink, especially if it’s «1 for 1 cocktails» all day.” There’s a good number of different cocktails to choose from and the drinks aren’t water downed like most places. Roughly $ 18 – 22 per cocktail. The vibe is good, but it does get quite stuffy and hot ever now and then. After a few cocktails, stumble into Tang’s for some shopping. Just don’t shop for shoes bc you(or rather me!) will trip and fall. Tip: Tell the server before ordering that you’re planning to share! You’re not supposed to, but sometimes they’ll close one eye and grant you that favor ;))

This café is a great place to sit and watch the busy Orchard Road world go by … there is a steady stream of shoppers and communters going by and you could entertain yourself with the fascinating, changing view for hours. You may need to … the service at this café, whilst very friendly, is very slow … after you are seated and given a menu there is quite a gap between attendances by staff to take and deliver orders. Even the bill is slow in coming. As far as the food goes, I’ve had lunch here — I’ve ordered the Heritage Salad — this is small, not enough for a meal, even with the complimentary(very nice) bread provided. The heroes of the dish are the heritage tomatoes, several types — but they are hidden under a shower of sprouts and a very meagre sprinkling of fetta and avocado. I’ve also had the Watermelon and Haloumi Salad — you wouldn’t want to be hungry if you ordered this one, it’s not quite enough. However, the fresh fruit platter is beautifully presented and marvellously fresh and delicious.

Best burger at any time of the day — this place is a godsend at 4am for a last beer or a salad regardless of your reason for being up that late!

Ate lunch with my boyfriend here and I ordered a salad which was very delicious. After my 24hours of traveling with airport and airplane food my appetite was messed up and I have to say this place really helped me get back my appetite for food. Would definitely recommend this place!

This may be the best spot for people watching on all of Orchard, outside on the wide sidewalk but tucked behind planters and situated at the corner of Scotts and Orchard. The dinner buffet is spendy but comprehensive, fun, includes lots of Asian fusion options and delicious. Not a place to go if you’re watching your pennies or your figure.

They say that Times Square in NYC is the Crossroads of the World. That may be so, but people watching at the Crossroads Café on a Sunday afternoon makes me think I am at the Crossroads of Asia. Great place to watch the world go by with good happy hour promos to go with the good service.

Horrible service, extremely rude staff. I would try to avoid this place if I were you. If there was a way to give it zero stars I would do so.

I ate here while staying at the Marriott. I got the chicken and rice and the nasi lemak(coconut-flavored rice, peanut and anchovies, chicken Kapitan, fried hard-boiled egg, and prawn sambal). The food’s generally pretty good, but I think it’s way too expensive. The restaurant IS located at the Marriott, so it kind of makes sense. Still. I can’t justify not taking a star away just because its price is «justified» by being in a hotel. There are better options nearby, especially because you’re so close to ION Orchard.

Excellent coffee and light lunch place, but this is the Marriott, so you pay for it. Also a nice place to watch the beautiful and the less beautiful walk past.
