I’m quite impressed by the range of food items served up at this branch. Besides the usual breakfast fare, there’s also like 4 or 5 varieties of fried rice, fried hor fun, sang mee, bee hoon, mee goreng, penang fried kuay teow, etc. black pepper chicken with rice, ginger spring onion with fish/chicken with rice, sweet & sour fish/chicken with rice, chicken chop with rice, etc. The menu price list on the wall is printed quite small. You might need to stand in front of it for a few minutes to take it all in. The most expensive item on the list is $ 7.00 for curry pork chop rice, ayam penyet, fish & chips, or assam fish. Ok. Officially dazzled by their array of scrumptious dishes.

People usually head there for half boiled eggs, kaya toast and a hot cup of teh/kopi. I pretty much do the same every now and then. So what makes thi place one of my favourite makan places? Their penang kway teow and curry chicken. The penang kway teow is very tasty and the chilli is quite something. And the noodles aren’t cooked to a mush which is always a good thing. The curry chicken is tender and the meat is very tasty. The curry gravy is also cooked well. Not too salty and the thickness is just nice. Goes really well with bread or rice.

This place has your usual breakfast fare of half boiled eggs and kaya toast. The kaya is fragrant and not too sweet, but a large hunk of butter is added, which some people may dislike. They also have variations such as kaya buns and kaya French toast. The coffee and tea is pretty good too, served in an old school cup on a saucer. You still see some older folk pour the hot drink into the saucer for cooling! I usually have the Teh-C or Kopi-C, made with evaporated milk rather than condensed milk. I also like the barley which they cool themselves. This branch also has a lot of other dishes you can choose from. So far, I’ve also tried their nasi lemak, Penang fried kway teow, curry chicken as well as the mee siam. All the dishes were pretty good, so I’ll definitely e trying out their other dishes! Just one gripe though: there is only one toilet here, and it’s filthy and wet!
