Yummy coffee, enough of a caffeine kick to open my eyes wide up on a sleepy afternoon. Nice location with your average hipster décor with ubiquitous coffee related accessories for sale. I don’t care if they sell puppies(okay.maybe I would) but I’m definitely come back for more coffee! Recommendations: flat white & salted caramel chocolate tart… hubby liked their lavender mango cake, but it’s steep at $ 7,50.

Great cold brew coffee! Trendy feel and nice staff. Limited food but nothing healthy! I think they’re missing a trick on this point… They would nail it as they’ve got the space and ambience. In fact, the only genuinely negative aspect of this place is the parking!

The coffee here is good, but the food is terrible. The menu is as you would expect, nothing with any uniqueness or creativity. When it came out it was cold and extremely undercooked. After sending it back, they recooked the same food(condiments and all) and sent it back stacked up. Very amateurish and you can get plenty of good coffee(and food) on the east coast.

I love this little place in the middle of nowhere down a residential part of Singapore amongst the atas housing; former president Nathan allegedly lives somewhere near here… But I digress. Amazing air conditioning greets you as soon as you slide open the heavy metal and glass door. This rush of cool air is super welcoming! I ordered the signature flight and quite quickly I was presented with a cute wooden tray with a ristretto and a flat white.(It was meant to be a cappuccino, however the milk proportion is certainly not right. Good for me though as I prefer a flat white anyway!) The ristretto was strong and syrupy and had a good amount of that beautiful crème d’or crema! The flat white had a good smooth texture and a punchy coffee flavour coming through. Good stuff! Food is not that great sadly so stay away from that and order just the coffee instead. My almond croissant was dry as can be(and a bit chewy!). Ample of free water is available and is self service which is always a good thing, despite the plastic cups — why can we not have glasses for free water? I’m coming back again as it is great for work in the day and catching up with friends for a well-deserved coffee.

Great place. Fantastic atmosphere. Good service. But terrible terrible music playlist and choices. Not sure if I’m coming back if they continue playing music like that. The kitchen blasts another genre of music as well. Unacceptable I’m afraid.

Dutch Colony Coffee is the coffee shop to visit in the Kembangan area, not withstanding the nearby coffee heavy weight and Unilocal superstar, Penny University. The coffee is fantastic, no doubt about it. Easy to drink and beautifully balanced. Just the way I like it! Secondly Dutch Colony sources coffee beans from all around the world. The coffee selection is what you would suspect from any fine coffee locale:(i) Flat white,(ii) cappuccino,(iii) lattes,(iv) iced mocha, etc. Sorry, no specialty coffee offerings from what I remember. The food is also great, but unfortunately there were some misses. If you haven’t noticed from my pictures, I’m a huge fan of the French Toast. Probably, one of the best French Toasts I’ve had in Singapore so far. What’s not to love about a french toast topped with strawberry, caramelized banana with syrup and vanilla ice cream as sides? The Espresso Bacon Baked Eggs with Wasabi Mayo was not too bad as well. Unfortunately, the Sweet Potato Truffle Fries were bit soggy. Overall, Dutch Colony’s coffee is among the best you will find in SG. I knock a star off because the food portions are a bit on the small side considering the price point, and the truffle fries were a bit of a miss.

Only good for coffee. Thought the service was very slow. Out of stock of a few items despite the limited menu. Had the egg mayo croissant — croissant was not flaky and in fact a little hard. Egg mayo was tasteless. Don’t think it can even compare with delifrance.(and that isn’t even that good) also had the steak sandwich which I couldn’t even ask for the steak’s doneness. The lady taking my order said ‘they are all normal’. What’s normal? Medium or medium rare? She said ‘just normal’ Sorry but don’t think I’ll be back.

Remember how i was complaining about the dearth of good coffee in the East? Well well, i’m glad to be wrong now because of Carvers & Co, Craftsmen(they have great cakes), and now Dutch Colony Coffee Co. has also opened its outpost right here in Frankel Estate! Yay. Ok, if you don’t know where that is, that’s perfectly fine with me, DON’T COME. Haha. You guys can just head to the one at Pasarbella. :P It’s honestly too inconvenient to get here if you don’t drive. Just the way i like it. Good stuff are only meant to be shared with the right people. ;) Well Dutch Colony beans are available at a number of places so i’ve probably tried the beans before. Obviously i’m not one who fancies the west and the kiosk at Pasarbella is hardly a relaxing spot to enjoy a cuppa. Thankfully, the Frankel outlet has the luxury of space, both indoors and outdoors. There’s a spacious and airy skylight area at the back that will give you that lovely whitewashed IG photo. Coffee is prepared in a variety of methods here and you could also choose from the single orgins list. Well balanced coffee with a lovely crema. So smooth and easy to drink. It’s just me being the caffeine addict but i downed my drink in no time. A full brunch menu is availble, alongside small baked goods. Considering this is our after lunch coffee sesh, we couldn’t stomach more than a piece of cake. SOBS. I’ve seen the same cakes at Assembly Coffee at The Cathay and know for sure that the Earl Grey Citrus Loaf is dry and overly sweet. From the looks of it, i bet i am right. Needless to say, one could skip the Thai Milk Tea loaf. Well, luckily for them, the Matcha Bundt cake was superb. The cake was moist and we could taste the distinct green tea in it. The icing was a little sweet but that could be easily scraped off so no issue. Can they make this a bigger slice please? This is certainly going to be my regular hangout from now. Gonna sample the brunch next time!

Arrived just after 11am. Easily visible from main road though snugged in between the row of shop-houses with its black front door with glass. Heavy on the modern industrial look — black, dark wood and metal furnishings; but not uncomfortable. Goes very well with the coffee machines that sit along the counter. Perhaps that is what attracts the good mix of patrons. Spacious with three seating areas. We took the front porch section. Service was prompt and unpretentious. Menu is not extensive. But they have a small selection of all-day sandwiches. Ordered one from the breakfast section and one from the sandwiches section. The steak sarnie was tasty enough. I wish I could enjoy it better if the bread was a little less toasted. Enjoyed the french toast with turkey bacon and caramelised banana. Well, if you are one of those who likes savoury and sweet in one bite. The coffee was good, and the tea was served in a small teapot with double wall glass tea cup. That won us over. Finding parking space can be a bit difficult if you are driving.
