I-Tec Supermart

Decent convenience store in a good location on Balestier, next to a bak kut teh joint and right in front of a bus stop. It’s 24 hours, so it’s perfect if you want to grab a late night snack to end a night of drinking, or some fruit juice to mix with your alcohol at home so you can continue a night of drinking (guava juice and rum, anyone?)
It differs from 7-​Eleven as they do offer Asian produce, meat, and seafood, although in limited quantities. They also have a decent selection of spices, oil and condiments.
It’s a small space packed with a lot of goods, so be prepared to squeeze past people to get through the aisles. (Read: Please don’t walk in if you’re super drunk because you will knock shit over.)

Not really the most well stocked supermarket along Balestier Road, they do, nevertheless, have a fairly decent selection of fruits and vegetables, beverages (alcoholic and non-​alcoholic), dried foodstuffs and lots of snacks. The fruits and vegetables are not always very fresh, however, so make sure you inspect your selection carefully.
I would not recommend I-​Tec Supermart as your regular grocery shopping destination, but they are definitely an address to keep in mind as they are open 24 hours.
I have found myself needing provisions for last minute get-​togethers or dinners, and have found most of the basic items I require here. Perfect for those midnight snacks to go with a late night movie at home, as well. A godsend for those living in the neighbourhood and don’t usually have extras in their fridge ‘just in case’.
