Zhao Ji Claypot Rice

There are supposed to be a couple of famous claypot rice stalls here, but we ordered from Zhao Ji as I couldn’t find the rest of them (this hawker centre is too huge). The three of us shared a $ 12 portion of claypot rice and a $ 6 plate of (Kai Lan). It wasn’t that great. I didn’t like that there wasn’t much meat on the chicken bones so I couldn’t experience the tender claypot-​cooked meat. I have to say that they executed the claypot cooking technique well though — the rice stuck onto the sides of the claypot were perfectly almost-​charred — my favourite part of claypot rice!
The waiting time was quite decent as there weren’t many patrons at 8pm on a Wednesday night. We waited for about 15 minutes for the rice to be done. I’ll be back to try out the other claypot stalls here!
(PS: If you’re looking to stuff yourself, opt for the $ 15 claypot for three people — the $ 12 option was barely enough to feed us.)
