The acclaimed MEMBERSONLY club. So for you people intending to head to fenix make sure you have the right network to bring you in or you end up stuck outside, but hey it situated clarke quay there are tons of other clubs to go to. I am not sure if there is a certain time for a cover charge. The Fenix Room The whole place is like a square box with a bar smack in the middle, it had a super dark gothic batman feel the only lightings are near the dj tables. They have plenty of sofas surrounding the walls and right in front of the dj tables The Crowd Most of them are mid 20’s and above, not so much on the younger kids which its good lesser problems. You find tons of ballerz on a good night with pretty ladies not to mention gold diggers nest as well. Dancefloor There is no dance floor if you have a table that space is practically your dance floor, and its usually crowded so the only dance is body contact. You cant bust a move in this club you end up hitting titties or champagne bottle whatever. Music Edm mash my favourite hip hop Overall its a fine club nothing attractive or fancy, its a place for so called«ballerz» hangout

I mean, not to make excuses or anything, but try to see it from my POV, girls: I had just landed in town after an overnight bender from 8pm to 9am in Tokyo… no hotel room or nothing between flights, just out carousing Roppongi, Nishi-Azabu and finally the ANA Lounge at Haneda International Airport. Then suffering through an 8 hour flight to SIN with shell-recliner seats(SCOFF!), arriving in crushing Friday night Stingaporean gridlock, and somehow making it to the club only to then be subjected to repeated instances of guys pouring vodka from a 3L bottle directly into my mouth. «TOOBIG, TOOMUCH!» I exclaimed as I became increasingly aware of how phallic a 3L Jereboam bottle really looks like when in such close proximity to one’s face. So, ladies, with the combination of 24+ hours of drinking, less than ideal travel conditions — ANA really needs some lie flat seats in their Tokyo to SEA flights — and the latent homoeroticism of being bottled repeatedly, is it any wonder that I might have indiscriminately grabbed your hand and/or inelegantly invited you to join my crew in the party throughout the course of the night? Yeah, I know I’m a pretentious asshole… but I digress. So, Fenix Room… Here’s what I remember of the place before I blacked out: — Dark, gothic interior. Obviously, not unique in this regard amongst its nightlife counterparts, but I thought everything looked put together and well apportioned… in the dark. Kudos to management for maximizing the limited space efficiently and attractively. — Crowd seemed slightly younger, although conversely it almost felt like they were snootier than most older joints I’ve been around. Then again, maybe their frostiness was in direct relation to your humble author’s oafish demeanor, but that’s neither here nor there. — Enjoyed the sparkler show when they brought out the four or five bottles of champagne. Having partied with many of these BBC’s(Billionaire Boys Club) before, I have become shockingly inured to the levels of nightclub largesse that they seem to relish. — Oh yeah, and this precious conversation that came about after I saw the bill for the first round of bottles: Me: «Goddamn, $ 2,400! You float that yourself, man?» Friend: «Yah, lah… club wanted one card… everyone said they’d give me cash later.» Me: «Shee-it! Good luck with that buddy…» *hugging him with 70% genuine regard and 30% pity, seeing as he’s never going to see a red cent from the others. Friend: «Why, you wanna chip in some cash?» Me: *index finger to his lips* «Shhh… don’t ruin this moment.» *moonwalking away*

Have visited twice before but this place is not for me. Come here if you want to drink, not dance.

As far as clubbing options in Singapore go, well… there aren’t a whole lot of good ones. Fenix Room is the newish club from the guys that brought you Mink and Filter. It occupies the old MOS space in Clarke Quay and definitely feels like one of the roomiest clubs in town(not counting Zouk). It might not have the following yet of Mink & Filter, which is why it feels like there’s more space as it isn’t packing them in, but it’s likely to pick up steam as the months roll on. To be honest, the main step-up for me is the music: more popular dance-type stuff and floor-fillers, less hard house/trance which is definitely to my taste. I mean, in a perfect world, it would be all hip hop all the time but the world is far from perfect and this will have to do. The crowd is reasonably young and attractive, the vibe is pretty good and the drinks are as expensive as you would expect. But welcome back to Clarke Quay, we know you’ve been avoiding the place… now you have a reason to return.
