Went there with my hubby while living in Singapore. The place was full with tourists, really good music(also from 80’s) that changed into a live music later on. It’s a club where people like to bond, dance and sing together. They have tables and chairs, that is really nice when your legs get tired. They also have pool tables. We had lots of fun. The entrance was free and They have half price shots(Jäger bomb) an hour or so before closing.

Though borderline sleazy, I will admit that China One is a good place to go to if you’re just looking for a place to go dancing. To echo the other reviews, the dress code is very relaxed so if you get turned away at other establishments, I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t have a problem getting in unless they’re already at capacity. They have both a DJ and a live band that do gigs throughout the night. The live band is pretty decent and plays a good range of songs, from The Beatles’ «Twist and Shout» to Daft Punk’s «Get Lucky». Although I don’t go every weekend, it seems like they rarely switch up the sets so I feel like I’ve heard them over and over. After 11PM, they start charging a $ 30 cover but you get a choice of either 2 house drinks or 1 house drink and a Jäger bomb. The mixed drinks aren’t too strong here, but they’ll help you get through awkward conversations with people who try to make friends with you, or help you look cool dancing with a drink in hand! If you’re not into music, they have pool tables and even an outdoor smoking area. There’s a good amount of space in the back to lounge around, too. I appreciate that the bathroom is well taken cared of and there’s always toilet paper in the stalls. In the end, that is what makes this place 3 stars rather than 2!

Usually have pretty cute chicks here. Can be kinda douchey… not my type of music. but then I wonder if any bars in S’pore play my kind of music? anyway, just glad there’s no cover charge, drinks are affordable… oh yeah and the chicks are cute. Did I mention that? The two times I’ve been here there, very festive atmosphere… so that’s good.

Came here with my cousin and her friends one night… and I almost felt like I was transported back to some dive bar back in San Francisco. In Clarke Quay, of all places! I like that at China One there’s no scene, no gimmicks(such as that place with the wheelchairs, or the bar with the model theme, ugh), and a healthy mix of expats and locals. Spacious, not overly crowded, huge bar to sit at, lots of tables, pool, etc. You don’t need to dress up in club-wear to come here, which is also nice, and a rare thing in Singapore.
