Decent steaks and sides. However, the cost is still rather pricey. This place is located on the far end of Orchard Road, opposite Tanglin Mall in the same building as the post office. Unlike the Jack’s Places of Singapore, they serve the real deal, cuts of real USDA aged beef done to your specifications. Ordered the ribeye(S$ 48) medium and the tenderloin(S$ 65) medium rare. There were an array of sauces to choose from, but I’m not a fan of slathering my steak with sauce and hiding the flavour. The cooking of the steak was a little uneven, some parts were medium instead of medium rare. There was also a strong gas smell on the beef. The meat was fair, similar quality to a premium steak order in a US chain restaurant, but still very much on the pricey end of the scale. The sides cost extra. The Mac n cheese is good, and so were the truffle fries. However, I couldn’t taste the truffle oil in the fries. At the end of the day, for some reason I experienced a mild bout of *ahem* indigestion due to the meal. Minus one star for the 80s music, and also for the digestive distress… could’ve been a great place.

Great spot for a late dinner! My family and I strolled in around 9PM, and after ordering 2 small plates and 3 mains, we were done by a little after 10. Luckily, there were only a few tables with people having drinks, so I’m assuming this efficiency was because we were the only ones ordering food. We started out with the beef carpaccio and pork belly with crackling. The beef carpaccio was tasty, well seasoned, and perfectly complemented by the black truffle slices. I also enjoyed the crackling, and although the apple sauce was good, the spicy mustard’s where it’s at! For my main, I kept it simple by ordering the Tenderloin salad. I liked the lemongrass soy dressing and the medium tenderloin was the perfect portion. My husband really enjoyed his tenderloin linguine, but thought it was a bit too spicy for him(the menu does say there are chillies so I guess this should be no surprise.) The only thing that surprised me was the ambiance, or lack thereof. We ate inside and to be honest, I didn’t think there was anything special about the décor. I don’t know, I just felt for the type of food they’re serving and the wines they have, they would spend a little more on ambiance. The outdoor deck seems nice for drinks, though. So minus one for ambiance, but 4 stars overall for good quality food and the willingness to serve us at 9PM.

When I first read«Feedlot» on Unilocal I was not expecting a classy restaurant, but that just goes to show don’t judge a book by it’s cover… errrr…title… The service was very good — prompt, kind, well-trained and well-informed. As a graphic designer, I think their menu could use a little work. It was a bit confusing, but did offer some Paleo options. We started out with the chef’s appetizer plate that had an array of 5 different items perfectly proportioned for two. I ordered the sea bass and my husband got the pork chops. Both entrees were delicious. The place is a bit pricey for what it is, but again, food and service were very good. We’ll keep this restaurant in our roster for evenings when we’re looking for a more structured sit-down meal.

I don’t know what it is about this place — the food is pretty adequate, but it doesn’t seem anything special at all, and certainly options abound if you’re looking for something better. it’s good if you’re in the area, but otherwise not quite worth the effort. their brunch menu was no longer available — and that was a pretty disappointing start. but the lunch menu was pretty good for choice, so that worked out, at least. this place has some dishes that are pretty much more-than-good, so let’s start with those. first, a large slab of bone marrow was impressive both for fatty flavor and size, accompanied by five skinny toast-biscuits to scoop out all the goodness. it was very tasty, but make sure you do like the fattiness — it sure was a goodly amount of it. but I was more impressed by the foie gras truffle risotto, which had al dente rice perfumed very lovingly with that truffle flavor — I couldn’t stop eating this(and it wasn’t even my plate) — it was properly salted, properly cooked, and properly delicious. a couple of the dishes were pretty average-good: a salad topped with char-grilled tenderloin, and a pasta topped with the same. the pasta was pretty well-received, actually — the noodles were al dente, and the only complaint was that it was possibly too spicy(though I thought it was rather fragrantly so). what I was least impressed by, rather tragically, was the dish I had ordered: a steak sandwich. I rather thought it’d have been a good test of their skills — but the steak was pretty cold, with only a thin cooked outside to show for any applied heat — and the bread was just a almost-tasteless flat piece of something. I just ate the cold steak, left the bread, and moved on. and. dessert was a mixed bag. the duo pudding plate came with two lava cakes, one dark chocolate and one white chocolate — the dark was pretty delicious(and stolen very quickly by that cute girl on my knee), but the white one tasted like uncooked cake batter in the most horrible way. if you can convince them to give you two darks, this is well-worth ordering — but skip otherwise. a compressed rum-infused pineapple was just a plain pineapple slice topped with vanilla ice cream — good, but simplistic(especially for the high price); but at least that was better than the rhubarb crumble, which looked delicious but was rather watery and diluted under that golden crumble. so — I’m not impressed, even if I left full — and it’s a tepid recommendation I give this place. the nice part about this place? it’s a little secluded so there aren’t those manic crowds you usually get on the weekend.

A typically American food restaurant that is overpriced. When I have to pay for expensive food, I expect them to give me something special. Something that makes them stand out from the regular American place. I got their spaghetti bolognese which was cooked really well — al Dante spaghetti, delicious sauce with just right amount of tomato flavor, meaty and it all came together really well. So the food is good but would I go back there just for their food? Not unless I happen to be by there. There is nothing that says«you have to get it at Feedlot». We also got their roasted pineapple desert. It was a slice of pineapple soaked in caramel and rum served with vanilla ice-cream and alfalfa sprouts sprinkled on the side. This was a unique dish — the caramel was cooked just nice and blends really well with the pineapple and ice-cream. Unfortunately, it cost $ 18 for this relatively cheap ingredients to be put together. Their service was very great though. They were very patient with our large group and few of us who were undecided. They gladly allow us to split the bills with no look of annoyance. If you are in Tanglin and is looking for a quiet American place(or is just bored of Chilli’s) then I recommend you check out this place.

Strategically located right across from the Tanglin Mall in a rather non-descript building housing a butchers, a baker and a post office instead of a candlestick maker. It’s hard to work out why this place is not busier. Great food and the only place in Singapore that I know sells Estrella Galicia beer, so what’s not to enjoy. On our latest visit we both ordered the Roquefort burger that comes with a big dollop of the rather stinky but flavorful cheese on top of one of the best burgers in Singapore with avocado and with a side of truffle fries(extra $ 3, but worth it) and a fresh mesclun salad. Washed down with the aforementioned Estrella Galicia beer on a special offer(Well I guess they need to sell volume to pay for Marc Marquez sponsorship). A deceptively simple meal that we both really enjoyed. The only minor quibble was the dollop of the Roquefort which had to be maneuvered to cover the bun. On a side note they also allowed us to sit with our dog at the outside table. He is also a fan of the cheese and it was a real distraction for him until the steaks arrived at the next table. Service was good, food and drink also great. A little pricy, but worth it for the quality of the food.
