The mussels bucket is excellent. The big plate is Super with sardines ceviche onion rings cheese balls and crab meat, prawns and mushrooms on toast. Yumm!!! A variety of beers available but I was in whisky mood hence maybe next time …

Coming back after 3 years away, I found this place quite sad and a far cry from its early days. Firstly when I asked about the Blond beers, the server said they only had about 4 of the 12 – 15 they listed.(I hope this is because it’s the start of the year and they haven’t restocked.) The worse part was when our server took the lid off the pot of mussels we ordered. It was barely two thirds full, and some of the mussels looked like they had shrunk to the size of clams :(When one of the managers or team leaders sent our beers, I asked her if she could provide some feedback to the kitchen– that it’s quite sad to open a pot of mussels and find it only two thirds full. Is the kitchen running out of mussels? Instead of apologizing for the miserable portion, she actually provided an explanation of how the kitchen hasn’t figured out how to ‘fix it’, and that at certain times of the year, when the price of the mussels increase, they cannot serve the same weight of mussels!!! I think my friends and I gave her such incredulous looks that she just laughed nervously and walked away. What BS is this, Brussels Sprouts? If truly your food portions are dependent on the fluctuating costs of the ingredients, then I’d rather spend my money somewhere else– where they don’t think that 6 – 7 mussels would matter and make them a loss.

Chill place, good food, mehhhh drinks, good service, not updated promotions terms and conditions. So dinner started with a reservation being made on the eve of public holidays. We were then told verbally that the promotions were not applicable for eve of PH(and there was no where else that states so, not the website, fb, menu). Not feeling quite right with my questioning mind, we asked the assistant manager politely how exactly can they not update their terms and conditions and to tell their customers otherwise when they have made reservations to enjoy a lovely evening. Eventually the problem was solved with a waiver of the 10% service charge, which I’m good. I liked the food and location, which explains why the reservation made on a good Sunday to be spent and relax by the riverside. Nice mussels with their wide selection of broth in the pot. We chose the SG50 monthly specials and it tasted just like sharks fin soup, and a laksa broth which we both love. A little to the salty side, but it’s still good. Fries are free flow, and I’m a sucker to that! We ordered a draft beer to go along with our food, and we spent a good time streaming videos, chilling out, enjoying the food, and service from the lovely assistant manager. Wifi is free, just gotta obtain from the staff.

Unimpressed. Mussels were exceptional, but the service was dreadful and there wasn’t a wine I could drink and believe me when I say I have had some bad wine! Dark atmosphere, with unattractive furniture. The setting is nice, right on the water and they have a very nice set-up for children. Play area and outdoor seating, but don’t go if you are serious about food. French fries with the seafood was tolerable, but not enough for me to consider coming back. My beer drinking buddies seemed OK with the beer selection, but they couldn’t get a second round because the service staff was NEVER around. Sorry Sprouts I wanted to love you just because of your location.

Nice spot along the river. Good ambiance. The fries were burnt and the service was non-existent.

What a surprise. I have been living next to it for more than two years, and never stopped here! Finally i tried it, and found out that the only thing off in this place was the Brussels time on the watch on the wall – they must have forgotten to change after the recent spring time change! :-) Got moules marinieres. Really well done. I only wish i had more… The service was fast and good. Good beer choices, at low prices(for Robertson Quay, at least). Will be back for more soon!

I was brought here by a belgian friend that enjoys this spot. First its a great location located next to the«river» along robertson quay which is a nice spot in general. They have good beer a plenty. We had beef tartar which is good but the doctor in me always cringes at eating raw beef. The mussels with pomme frites was a bit pricey but good. You can get them with all you can eat fries but obviously no one is ordering it for the fries. That being said the fries are good and crispy. I ate it with the vin blanc sauce which is pretty standard but good. They have TONS of other sauces to choose from. All in all I’d say its a nice spot for a happy hour drink or a nice meal.

for photos and more reviews, visit :) mussels madness goes on every day, but the time changes depending on which day of the week :) and it’s super! choose from either 2 pots of starter sized mussels($ 30) or 2 pots of main size($ 60). erm, dont look at the quantity on the website -.- it’s not accurate. but anyway, we the starter sized pot with 12pcs in each, to share between the two of us and it was just nice :) there are so many sauces to choose from! and i think i’ll be back someday to try out more ^^ we got the Meridionale which was a flavourful blend of onion, parsley, butter, saffron, tomato, garlic, herb de provence and olive oil. it reminded me so much of pasta sauce!!! über delicious. and the tom yam sauce too packed a delicious punch with lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, lobster consommé and prawns(yup there were prawns in it too! extra seafooooooood!). you can totally scoop up the sauce with the ladle to drink. *slurpssss* :D the mussels madness also comes with a free flow of thick-cut, crispy chunky chips. loveeee: D

Service was excruciatingly slow, wings were average, mussels were overpriced for what you got and the frites were NOT frites — dehydrated and over-cooked frozen plank fries should have been a more accurate menu description. Avoid this joint.

Brussels Sprouts is a great place for dinner and a beer, particularly on a weekend when Robertson Quay and establishments along the Singapore River are more lively. Brussels Sprouts occupies a great piece of real estate along the River with seating both indoors(open air) and out. The people-watching is fun, the service is prompt, the food is truly a step above bar food most anywhere in Singapore, and the beer is always served very cold. The music, which plays in the background, is also upbeat and fun. I particularly liked the roulade de poulet. In fact, they were a little delayed in bringing out my order and brought me some french fries(on the house) while I waited, which was a nice touch! Go here – you won’t be disappointed. The only reason why I don’t give it five stars is that your meal won’t come cheap.

In a town filled with fresh seafood and abundant cocktails, there’s one place that constantly pulls us back to its patio… BRUSSELsSPROUTS. Boasting a large menu with snacks and meals alike, the main draw are the pots brimming with heaps of fresh mussels and clams with over two dozen sauces made to order. Wash those down with one of the 100+ different types of beers and you have yourself one hell of a good afternoon! It’s always lively, and the food is always piping hot. I’ve never been that impressed with any of the other food offerings on the menu but that’s okay, the pots of clams & mussels are reason enough to keep coming back. Personal favorites for the shellfish are: THAI(coconut cream, sweet chili, lime, coriander), DEVILLED(chili padi, coriander, curry, lime, tomato), BLACKPEPPER(pepper, dark soy sauce, garlic, ginger, oyster sauce) and MARINIERE(butter, white wine, celery, onion, parsley, cream). As a bonus, each large or small pot of shells comes with bottomless steak fries and homemade mayo, awesome! Couple that with one of the better beer selections that I have seen for a restaurant that doesn’t call itself a beer hall and you’re in business! Take some time to visit BRUSSELsSPROUTS and tuck into some great shellfish, you wont be disappointed!

Great place to hang out for Beer & Muscles! 1) Muscles — you can choose the broth you want them cooked in. It comes in so many different combi. We had the… a) Ostendaise(cream base) — fish stock, lobster bisque, grey shrimp, mushroom. — This was recommended by the waitress as the«most popular» choice. Despite not being a fan of cream based anything, I think this was pretty good. The broth made the muscles sweeter :) b) Vin Blanc(clear base) — white wine, onions, parsley, butter. This is on of the standard ways to cook muscles. It was ok. No surprises, as expected. However, they did put a lot of white wine into it so the broth tasted very strongly of it. 2) Mushroom & escargot — ok. Desserts — Crepes banana & ice-cream: nothing fantastic. the crepes tasted like those you could get at the supermarket and just pre-heat in the oven(so don’t expect much) but we polished them up nonetheless. practically anything with ice-cream is edible to us… haha… Service — Good. The staff were friendly despite it being close to mid-night(& they were obviously tired). Tips: 1. Free flow of fries!(Great fries!!! they were golden brown & crispy despite them being shaped like wedges. goes esp with tartar and chilli dips. pretty sinful.) 2. If you order after 10pm, 2 buckets of big muscles = $ 60($ 20 off compared to orders before 10pm). Definitely a good supper place!

Brussels Sprouts @ Robertson Quay holds special meaning for the missus and me because its where we had our first date. Though why I chose it that particular day I will never know, after all the missus did not really like mussels before then. I’m glad to say though she is now a convert. Whats not to like about Brussels Sprouts? Clams and mussels cooks in a variety of ways to perfection. Free flow of fries that are always crispy but not oily. And of course, the most important, excellent selection of Belgian beers available. We recently went back to celebrate that special day again and am glad standards are still impeccable. I love the house special and traditional vin blanc compared to the new fangled asian flavors which are just too weird for me. The mushroom escargots are also delectable. The only gripe is the music is a tad too loud these days and the seating aren’t really comfortable.

The location and service of this place were both alright but the food however was nothing to rave about. Firstly it took quite awhile to come, then some of the main dishes came before the side dishes which were a total messed up, normally people prefer to have their sides first as appetizers. The food however was alright depending on what you order. Had the button mushroom with escargot as our starter and it was really good, rich flavour — garlic just nice to drown out any ‘weird’ smell coming from eating the snail. The mussels that we ordered were pretty normal also, maybe slightly overcooked. The fries on the other hand were great, not too oily and sliced to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. This side dish came free flow with the mussels we ordered thus we did not have to worry that there would not be enough. Overall this place had some hits and misses, might consider coming back again but probably after some time to forget about the misses that I went through.

This is an elegant place to enjoy a meal. Not too casual, yet satisfyingly cozy. I popped by for dinner last night and sank my teeth into the«Rillettes De Canard»(Duck rillettes accompanied with garlic bread and gherkins) and it just melted in my mouth. If you enjoy Belgian food, you’ll be spoilt for choice. It offers a good variety of finger food and main course meals. The portions are MASSIVE, but then again of course with the Belgians, a fine cuisine is never a complete cuisine if it’s not a BIG! What I like most about this place is the 120 different beers! From fruity, toasty, to your creamy types! Also enjoy 25% off all drought beers(stella, hoegaarden) during happy hour — before 8pm. Just as most river-side restaurants are at Robertson, the ambiance is unforgettable. Once visiting, it’ll remain a definite to-do for weekend branches and dinners.

This outlet draws a different crowd as compared to Big Splash branch, more expats, more professionals, and the vibe is less laid back. Customers are more of the chop chop than lingering sort, though the crowds are still equally frenetic. Without a reservation, it can be hard to get a table. My favorite manager in the whole world is based here, and he makes frequent rounds to ensure that all customers are comfortable. In addition, he takes the effort to chat with them, and put them at ease. Dropping in one late night/early morning after the kitchen closed saw us hungry and him procuring us pizza from the restaurant next door — at no charge even when we insisted on paying. Kudos to his professionalism and kindness — this is what makes an establishment a great one. A strange observation is that the frites here seem yummier than those at Big Splash — perhaps the high turnover ensures that the frier keeps on going, and freshly fried frites are frequently available?

DELICIOUS food, fairly unattentive staff. One guess as to what Brussels Sprouts specialises in. Good! We had some of the most astonishingly good mussels ever eaten. The menu in general is long and generous(I’m still wishing I’d ordered the mushrooms on toast on the side, but would probably have exploded) and there are a trillion ways you can have your mussels if you don’t fancy meat or something else. I had the Thai variant which was a fragrant, creamy coconut broth with plenty of zing and flavour. Delicious! My brother went for the curry, which turned out to be pretty much the same, but with a little whisper of Indian. Other favourites were the standard Mariniere which you can’t go wrong with, and which was apparently delicious. We were also sold on the Tintin silhouettes on the walls, very cute. You get(eventually get, it took a while) chips with your moules, and there are plenty of beers on the menu to be getting on with. Our orders for everything took a long time to arrive, and as an open-sided restaurant you’ve got fans rather than air conditioning which can be a bit of a belter on a hot day, but it’s a nice place to go if, as we did, you have a large group of people you want to catch up with.
