BLU Bar

I love Blu and have many fond memories of the place. It is unfortunate the restaurant has closed but at least the bar remains.
Perched on the top level of Shangri-​La, it offers an awesome view of the city especially when the sun is setting. At night the twinkling lights in the distance sets a romantic tone for the evening.
A great place for a drink or more. Definitely a date place.

One of my favorite bars in the world. Why? Views, service, views, drinks, views, cigars. Still has panoramic views of downtown (altho not ass good as they used to be) where u can relax and enjoy the heat, a drink and a cigar. good drink selection and great cigar selection. U can have all this on the balcony at the back on the 18^th? floor balcony. Its a super cool space where u can really chill out enjoy good company. For Singapore it also has a v low hooker count. A great destination after a long day.

Leave your chillout pills right where they are as you will not need them here.
Blu has to be one of the coolest bars anywhere in the known universe and in terms of the ‘WowWowWow’ factor it easily matches Manzaru in the Maldives and the Blue Marlin @ Cala Jondal in Ibiza.
Picture this … a 24^th floor outdoor patio jutting out in to the Singapore night sky and overlooking all of the city right down to Marina Bay. From here you can sit and enjoy your custom cocktail and watch the laser lites from the bay bouncing across the sky all around you .
Should you feel a bit peckish try a petit amuse from the bar menu. I can vouch for the carpaccio, it is razor thin and melts in your mouth.
In the main cocktail bar you will be looked after by elegantly clad barista’s who glide around as if on well oiled castors. Most guests choose to head straight for a table alongside the floor to ceiling glass wall as the view is stunning, but I prefer to sit up at the bar and watch as the cocktail artisans bring your chosen drink to life. Props to them, they are seriously skilled at what they do. Get their LIIT and hold on tight as it will blow ur sox off.
If your date is not turned on by an evening here then their batteries must be flat!

Talk about a swanky bar with a view and the alcohol-​feeding grounds for the well-​heeled (and the occasional precocious teenybopper)! Push ‘24’ for the BLU Bar and be greeted with a warm smile and a menu and a serving tray of delicious nuts and things, and don’t forget to look out the window for the utterly dreamy night sky!
The selection of martinis and cocktails are ah-​mazing, and they don’t hesitate to take a little suggestion from you to make your cocktail just-​right for you. An extraordinary bar experience, for not much more than what you spend at Brotzeit — a worthy upgrade if you’re willing to take the Orange Grove Road less traveled.

So, my friend suggested coming here for a little «splurge», so here I am with my review.
The décor here was very pleasant and the service was great.
We started off with the complimentary bread, which was a very good start to our meal. The bread here was served warm, which is indeed a very nice touch. I really enjoyed the bread here.
Next, we dived into the main dish, and I had the pan seared scallops with Asian gazpacho and dry corn. The scallops were perfectly seared, with a slightly charred exterior and a juicy and succulent interior. The other ingredients also really complemented the flavor of the scallops. This dish is highly recommended.
My friend had the slow cooked salmon fillet, and he remarked that this is one of the best salmon fillets he has ever had. Tender and succulent, he said that the salmon was pink in the centre, which really added to the oomph of the fillet.
Overall, we were very impressed with this restaurant and felt that this is definitely a worthwhile splurge.
