BEER! All the beer you want is right here at Alchemy. This is probably the bar with the widest selection of craft beers available in Singapore. Whether you like a light fruity beer or a dark ale, Alchemy has got it all. I’m a fan of darker beers and my favs are the King Goblin, Rochefort 10 and definitely the Chimay blue. These beers are priced at $ 14-$ 22 per bottle. If you prefer one of the regular beers found in Singapore clubs, sad, or maybe happy to say that you won’t find many here. There is Asahi and Heineken however, its good to note that the Heineken here, is imported directly from Amsterdam. Trust me on this one, it tastes better! A bucket of 5+1 usually goes at $ 45 all night. You’ll also find Asahi here either on tap or in a bottle. If you need to eat, just let any waiter or bartender know and they will show you where the menus are. There are menus available from quite a few stalls in the area. I recommend food from the thai restaurant. They’re always nice although sometimes its hard to communicate with their staff over the phone because they don’t speak english very well. I feel its worth the hassle because the food is good. The spicy dishes are spicy so if like me, you like spicy, you’ll enjoy it too. Back to Alchemy, most weekdays, you’ll find the advertising crowd from the Agencies nearby hanging out here but they’re nice people and they don’t bite. It also tends to get a bit noisy as more drinks are consumed in a fun way. It doesn’t seem to piss anyone off. Parking is available at the Central Mall multi-storey carpark and it seems to suffice. See you at Alchemy soon!

Used to work above Alchemy Bistro. the first time i saw the place I was like«How the heck do they even survive here?» After I started work at Central Mall, it all made sense to me now. Firstly, the bartenders are NICE. Secondly, woo, the selection of ciders, beers and all that well, I am very partial to their fruity flavored alcohol. sometimes, they even hold BBQ and alcohol tasting sessions. Most of the people there are like regulars so don’t be shy to say hi to them!

I used to work just upstairs, so drinking here was a daily affair. One thing to note is that it’s frequented almost entirely by the advertising crowd due to the various agencies in that area(BBH, Grey, Yolk) and they(we) are a noisy, alcoholic bunch. You might feel a little out of place because of that; everyone knows everyone at that bar. Running the bar is Leslie, who’s a nice guy and always looks our for his customers, most of whom more or less live at the bar since we all work so nearby. The beer is cheap($ 22 for a jug of Asahi on tap) and there’s plenty of cider for you to try. Long after the novelty of having so many options wears off, you can still fall back on your usual Asahi, Heineken or various other lagers. Bar closes at 12, but really. that rarely happens.

Great bar, odd location. If you thought Central Mall was a bit of a graveyard after hours… there’s actually a place to drink, other than at certain rambunctious Thai discos nearby. Alchemy is a great little place with LOTS of craft beers and specialty ciders at reasonable prices. It’s a friendly place with mostly outdoor-seating, populated largely by the ad-men and women from the two ad agencies in the area. THEBEER. There is so much of it. I come here a lot and I don’t think I’m even done with 10% of the beers… on the left side of the fridge.
