Really awesome and consistent throughout the years. Broth is thick and hearty. stay for desserts after laksa!

My colleague recommended this laksa, saying it is one of the better ones around in Yishun area. First off, I am not really a laksa fan, so I am not sure what makes a laksa great. I have yet to find a laksa which I dream about or crave for. The store only sells laksa and maybe local desserts though nobody actually orders that. Laksa is what the people come for. Do not be scared off by the long snaking line nearer lunch time as most people actually order as take-out. The neighboring store also sells the same stuff(laksa, local desserts with the addition of popiah), but the specialty there is local dessert, so don’t go to the wrong place. For this laksa place, you can choose the type of noodle(yellow noodle, thin bee hoon, thick bee hoon, etc). So to order, indicate type of noodle and the size of the portion($ 2.50, $ 3) and if you want cockles with it. What I like is the chili. You add the chili and laksa leaves yourself so you can control how you want the end result to be. I find the chili is a bit salty so it imparts more taste to the gravy which is very mild and lemak(coconut-ty). The cockles and other ingredients(fish cake slices, taupok, beansprouts) are fresh. As for the noodles, I think the thick bee hoon is much better than the thin bee hoon(a bit undercooked when I had it). Yellow noodle also goes well with the gravy though. I would say order this only if you are in the area. It is not something I will travel all the way just to have.

Oh, my, gosh. I used to eat here all the time during my NS days, since the laksa here is so heavenly. By the way, the stall’s name is 928 Yishun Laksa precisely because it is located in a little corner of BLK928, and it’s no doubt Yishun’s most famous(and the best) laksa by far, so no need for a fancy name eh. There is always a long queue at almost any time of the day, thanks to its well deserved fame. Anyway, the laksa comes in $ 2.50 or $ 3.00, and comes with generous amounts of ingredients including fish cake, crabsticks, bean sprouts, half boiled egg and clams. The laksa gravy here is really fragrant and rich, and there is just the right amount of coconut milk and chili. I’m actually salivating as I write this. To sum up, even if you are not a fan of laksa, you just have to try the laksa at this stall; it will blow you away.

This laksa stall has received many accreditation and awards from TV shows. It is easily spotted with the long queue even during off lunch hours. It is located near to Yishun MRT station and the bus interchange. What is awesome would be the curry gravy, it is thick and rich, not too spicy and it is definitely comparable to those in fond of katong laksa. However please note that there is another laksa store that is situated right beside. Both stalls have their own dessert stalls partners as well. Hence it can be confusing which is the right stall. Look for the queue. The food is served with generous amount of ingredient and do try the laksa with their own chilli sauce for extra flavour and texture.
