Blk 925 Yishun Frog Leg Porridge

Among the several culinary heresies that I nearly committed on the way was forgetting to have the seriously amazing frog leg porridge available at several spots in Singapore. I didn’t have much time left and was honestly quite sick of traveling more than 15 minutes, which meant being seriously limited to a location that is rather pathetic when it comes culinary choices. Despite being frazzled and hauling the last few «donations» of accumulated material wealth to those who had first dibs, I still tried to remember if there was anything in the bucket list that I *needed* to get done before I flew out.
I was 100% sure I forgot something — that the list was incomplete. Yet, as much as I searched within, I came up empty. Thankfully, one of the cousins brought me to the light.
FROG LEGS. Holy freaking toddler. I forgot about FROG LEGS. Scramble the jets, we’ve got a national emergency. Where can I get decent frog leg porridge in the area? A barrage of text messages and phone calls later, I found myself back in Yishun 925 yet again — and not for Hainanese Chicken Rice!
All opinions received pointed out the same thing: Frog Leg Porridge here is as good as the famous spot in Geylang.
While I obviously never tried the one in Geylang (nor any other spot that is), the «Kung Pao Frog Legs» here was beastly awesome. So freaking awesome that it justified the binge.
About $ 30 for 3 legs and a large bowl of porridge left me half dead from a combination of the chili-​heat and the intense humidity of this particular food court (mixed with the infamous Singapore heat) BUT completely satisfied that I just dodged another culinary heresy.
For the record, anyone who claims that frog legs taste like chicken… should never be a food critic. It tastes better than chicken. Definitely, tastes WAY BETTER than chicken. If anything, it tastes more like $$$ grouper $$$ cheeks — absolutely IMMACULATE.
