Great food, awesome drinks and breathtaking views. I had the cajun chicken and a lychee martini while, watching the sunset. The food was very flavorful and the view made the entire experience beautiful. The service was great as well. I’ll definitely be back.

Nice 24 hour Vancouver layover. Perfect weather but I sat on the wrong side. I was on a patio overlooking the city. Pretty big place and I should have asked for a harbor view. Harbor Air has a very busy seaplane port and a better view I think. I had the Rocket Salad. Pecan crusted chicken breast was the right size. The lemon dressing was light and done right. Not bitter, not sweet and not too much of it. The early lunch crowd filled up maybe 30% of the tables but I was still impressed with the wait staff. They are there in numbers!!!

we spent 15 minutes trying to decide how to get around the fact that the tuna ceviche has been taken off the menu. Manoeuvring around the Steelhead Ceviche, we eventually settled on tuna alternatives like Tuna Sushi Cone and stack Tuna Stack(with lemony ingredients and avocado and many other flavourful things inside.) They have rid themselves of the ever-popular Tuna Ceviche. I also ordered some tart Thai Chicken Wings. Small but good. What can you expect from such an expensive place? My friend order the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup which was magical. Staff tried to seat us where we didn’t want to sit, but we, as you, must insist. After waiting with our Cactus buzzer device, which notifies you when your table is ready, and which you carry with you outside to view the harbour, we were buzzer and first taken«around the other way» said our sneaky new host; and there we were, aiming straight for the sports bar, with a live game — yuk! after being promised a window seat in the good section.(I’m telling you this because you too will have to fight for your place.) We got back on track and were, with an apology, which we didn’t accept, marched over to the scenic window section. These seats have lots of demand, so I didn’t really blame them for trying to hide us in back corner, but seaside tables were in transition, so we lucked out. We did hear the float planes revving up to take-off. I didn’t realize the monster windows were open in summer. It sounds like a huge fan with some problems, going off. Also some whiffs of plane fuel. Glad we didn’t get an actual window seat. After they decided that we were not big spenders we were mostly left alone. Two guys very pleasantly served our four appetizers. The skirt décor is now blue and black. Each colour means something. I think the blues are more like hostesses. And there are million of them. A few suits on the men also, and the odd tie. We were served water, which was regularly topped up. Immediately after the meal I felt absolutely terrific. They are doing something special with these dishes. Wow! Later in the evening the nourishing tidbits did their work and I felt a pleasant glow over my entire being. $ 45 with tip/for 4 appetizers.

This Cactus Club is beautiful! This is the third one I’ve been to and I loved it. The view is amazing. Even if you aren’t seated on the patio, you get a pretty good glimpse of the water and the sunset in the dining area. Our service last night was also awesome. Our server was super nice and attentive, taking care of anything we needed. I wish I had gotten her name, but definitely excellent service. We ordered drinks and apps– calamari, yam fries, Nothing but Pink, bellini’s, and a Moscow Mule. Everything came out within 10 mins and we enjoyed every bite. I also recommend the passion fruit Bellini if you like the original! Anyways– excellent service and drinks/apps!

Cactus club is normally a good spot but today I was very disappointed. We were unable to sit at the open tables on the patio due to not enough staff to serve the outside. It is a beautiful sunny Sunday, they should know better than be understaffed. I ordered the fish tacos and was disappointed because it was essentially a piece of fried fish inside a tortilla. Not very exciting. My mom had the ceviche and did enjoy it though.

My family and I were on vacation, and had a few days to spend in Vancouver. We had heard from many people that it’s a great city with a reputation for amazing food. I’m happy to say that Vancouver lived up to its reputation. We found out about the Cactus Club Café through a recommendation made by a hotel employee when we checked in at the Marriott in downtown. He said it was among his top 2 picks for restaurants in downtown. Little did we know that there are several locations in Vancouver. The one we ended up going to is right next to the Convention Center & Coal Harbor. The view is great– you are surrounded by the high rises of downtown on one side, & the water on the other. It was beautiful to see the sun go down, & see the lights of the city come on. The service was great once we were seated, which was after waiting for about 1 hour. They said that a convention had just let out, & a bunch of people got there just before we did, which is why the wait was so long. Again, the service was great. We had a wonderful waitress who came by often, but never so much that it interrupted our conversation. She was friendly & made good recommendations. WHATTOORDER: 1. The Butternut Squash Ravioli with Prawns was absolutely delectable! They tasted fresh, & the rich creamy sauce perfectly complemented the delicate sweetness of the shrimp & the squash. 2. The Double-Braised Pineapple Hoisin Short Rib was incredibly tender. It literally fell off the bone with the slightest touch of a fork. It was sweet, tangy, & full of flavor. The tasty mashed potatoes & peas gave it a «comfort food» quality. 3. The Sangria«slushy» was like an adult version of a childhood treat. It’s more of a cocktail than a traditional sangria, as it has some Bellini influence. That’s not to say that it’s not as good, because it is! You may even want to order a second one(we did)! We had such a great time, & really enjoyed tasting unique dishes from a restaurant founded in Vancouver. I will definitely come back the next time I visit. If you live in the U.S., you may see a Cactus Club pop up soon. Our server told us that the owners were talking about opening a location in Southern California some time soon. I hope it happens!

Wow, this place is busy! Came at 5pm on a Friday and it was a 45 minute wait. The views can be nice if you’re seated in the right area. It’ll overlook the water and it makes for a great time if you’re new to the area. We ended up ordering a few different items — chicken sandwich, veggie burger, beef dip sandwich, and the jambalaya. The sandwich and burger were good sizes and came with small sides of fries. The beef dip sandwich looked like an actual sandwich — two toasted pieces of white bread with meat in the middle of them. Not exactly the heartiest item for $ 16. The jambalaya was good. however, very rice heavy and mostly just white rice with sauce over it. It takes on an Asian flair, so they use chinese sausage and green beans in it. This was fine, but certainly different than the idea of Jambalaya I had in my mind. I think I’d come back for their drink happy hour, where they have items like peach bellini for $ 4.

Great food, great view, and great service! We ordered the Feenie burger that we shared. It was a delicious burger. We got a side of yam fries — sweet potato fries are always our favorite. I ordered a drink, Pimm’s Cup, that had pimm’s no. 1, ginger ale, fresh lime, cucumber, strawberry, and mint. It was pretty good as well. The view was great since you could see the Vancouver harbor with Stanley Park across. You could hear the water planes landing and taking off. We had a pretty good table for the view. The service was fantastic! Should keep her identity private but she and her twin were both working the same area and had people confused. Very charming young lady! Since we enjoyed it so much, we went a second time. My wife ordered the Finnie burger again but did not touch it — we shared it later on our flight back to Austin. The reason she did not touch it is that she shared my soup and salad, and ODed on two orders of yam fries. The dip that comes with the tasty fries really enhances its taste. The roasted butternut squash soup was so good! We finished it in no time and were tempted to order a second helping. We spilt the quinoa salad with salmon that I ordered. That was delicious as well. I guess if they replace the feta cheese with goat cheese that would really enhance its taste even more, for a goat cheese fan like me. Ordered the Pimm’s Cup again. Topped it all off with a chocolate lava cake. It was good but nothing unusual. Desserts seemed to favor chocolate. Key lime pie was the only non chocolate dessert. Could use a better mix of desserts — perhaps bread pudding, pies, crisps, cobblers, … The service again was really good. Except, the lava cake took a very long time to come. They apologized and took it off the bill. This time we were sitting outside and it was on the cooler side. They have heaters on the top of the tent and blankets. We were sitting almost next to the iconic Olympic cauldron. Great place to get a view of the mountains, the 8-bit Orca, and evening people watching. Got a real introduction to the fancy ladies fashions of Vancouver. Such a variety! Just wondered how the ladies could bear the cold while exposing so much :-)

Visited for a work conference. This place had good fresh food and a wide variety of options. The restaurant side was fairly busy and difficult to reserve but the bar was easy enough to be seated in. Cocktails were good and came it as described. The short rib pappardelle was excellent and everything. Came In a good sized portion. I would definitely not hesitate tore commend this place for a work lunch while working in the city. The location is a huge convenience factor to the convention center and nearby hotels. Bonus– you can watch the float planes take off and land on the attached deck that overlooks the water and sea wall!

The waterfront location is ideal for any restaurant. It is also within walking distance to the Vancouver Convention Center. I came here for lunch on a Wednesday and it was quite packed. I could only get a seat at the bar after waiting for about 20 minutes(wait time for actual table was 45 minutes). It was definitely worth the wait. The service at the bar was efficient. I had the butternut squash ravioli with prawns. It was fresh and delicious! Presentation was impeccable too! Side note: in all the restaurants I tried in Vancouver, the tap water quality was superb; huge difference compared to the taste of tap water in U.S. restaurants.

Apologies for writing this review after few visits there. I agree i m forgetful But that so mean of me that i forgot such an incredible experience every time i enjoyed it. Actually i was under the impression that i have reviewed it but no i have not so far but here we go food lovers… As this is very centrally located n they have delicious food n drinks menu plus hot servers(oops did i say that) No, the point is good looking n clean servers who know what they are doing. Very articulate n customer focussed, always smiling n giving input for food n drinks. Know all the techniques to serve u ur meal. I hav been here couple of times n inspite of the fact that there is a long waiting(sometimes u even have to book ur table an hour earlier by physically coming there n then they take ur details to let u know when its ready) so basically they try to give best management of their service. But once u r in. They r at ur service. Whatever i had here was litle expensive then other places but delicious of all. Bellini here is my favourite drink. Salads for healthy people n they r delicious. Pretty decent portions. Summers n crowd of canada place can be enjoyed from there patio. Huge seating on all sides. Aways nice music playing n most of the time tables are occupied for special occasions. Overall a wonderful place to spend some time over a glass of drink or enjoy stomach full meal.

Hmm, what’s great about this place… Great views, the restaurant has large windows overlooking the harbor. What’s better than having a meal or/and drinks while enjoying beautiful views? The drinks, are cheap and delicious. Drinks range between $ 7 and $ 10, really reasonable for a place like this. The star of the evening for us was the Bellini, I wasn’t going to order it because I doubted it’s potency, mistake and lesson learned — it was delicious! The double cuervo margarita, cohiba, flirtini, and wu-tangtini were all delicious too. The bar area is lively and fun, large TV’s all over, upbeat music, and plenty of seating. The restaurant part is quite and pretty dim and intimate in the evening. We enjoyed the Velvet Underground desert. It consisted of chocolate mousse, sponge toffee, and caramel foam. Pretty good but not amazing. There is an outside area with a bar as well, but the weather did not permit the outside bar to open –it was chilly! :( All in all, it’s a great restaurant. We were looking for cocktails when visiting but this definitely a place I would not overlook for dinner or lunch.

My husband and I visited this place while in Vancouver at the end of December. We arrived without reservation and were sat right away. The service was great and the food was even better. We ordered the lettuce wraps to start and frankly, we can’t stop talking about them since. Only being in the area for a few days we wanted to try out other local fanfare but seriously considered going back here three nights in a row for the damn things. We have even joked about coming up with a reason to go back to Vancouver just so we can eat here and order the lettuce wraps. Best we have ever had, hands down! For entrees he ordered the butternut squash ravioli with prawns — so yum! I ordered the chicken tenders like the child I am, which sounds lame but they were probably the best chicken tenders I have had as well. Great fries too. Obviously I would recommend and we will definitely be back!

Easily one of the best views in Vancouver, which is definitely the biggest reason I come here. Not much I need to say because Cactus is always so consistent wherever you go. Food is solid, but I only really come here for drinks after work. Pretty sweet happy hour specials too, definitely worth checking this place out.

We had stepped in for a quick snack and some drinks at got a seat at the bar. Pretty standard bar area, the service was a little slow, given it being Saturday night and all! Got the Tuna stack w/wonton chips and it was a great snack! Unfortunately, we grabbed a seat next to the drunkest person at the bar! He was a middle aged man and just kept leaning over to make conversation and slurring his words and just was really drunk! He eventually got up and stumbled up to a table of girls and tried to start some conversation but it didn’t seem they were interested and the gentleman was clearly drunk! The commendable thing was to see that the Assistant manage or someone from the management team come up to him and take his drink away and tell him he had to leave the bar. The manager didn’t charge the gentleman for the last drink and was pretty polite about it. I think the drunk guy asked for his card and threatened him but the manager kept his cool and gave him his card. Very professional! I think the Assistant manager or whoever it was did a great job in handling the situation! Good job!

Gotta give this one a 5*. Service — perfect Ambiance — awesome seat near the window overlooking the harbor, just perfect — not sure if this was our Fairmont concierge hooking us up or the luck of the draw, but ask for a window seat! Good DJ playing, outdoor patio which looks like a great place to enjoy if it wasn’t raining(does that ever happen in Vancouver?) Food — Scored big on Dine out Vancouver — $ 40 got me sable fish, tuna«cone»(take on sushi with fresh cucumber salad, daikon, yumminess) and some sort of mousse with toffee crisps. We also ordered the butternut squash ravioli with a perfectly garlic shrimp on top. The sauce was rich and creamy. Kids enjoyed mini burger and chicken tenders. Wine pairing were perfect. Go, go, go

I love this place! All the employees are dressed to impress, but the restaurant is much more casual than I expected. The beautiful views, wonderful service, and delicious food and drinks make it a top notch restaurant without the bank-breaking prices. We came in as a party of 2 on a Saturday afternoon and were asked if we wanted the Dine Out Vancouver menu or regular menu. We went with the regular menu. Then we were seated right away. Service was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We didn’t sit by the windows but we were seated in an area that still had an awesome view. There are coat hangers at every booth and table too — so cool! We ordered sangrias, chicken tenders, yam fries, and calamari. Everything came in big portions. We are used to associating restaurants that have nice views with being high-end, with high prices and small, but fancy plates. Cactus Club was just the opposite, in a good way. We didn’t feel intimidated coming here. Our favorite was the calamari, with some spice from the fried jalapenos and bell peppers. The yam fries were also good, not too sweet nor too salty and with complementing sauce. The chicken tenders were just that — simple and can’t go wrong. We loved the sangrias! We had the left-over food boxed up, which were good for late-night munchies. We loved this place so much that we returned later that night for late night drinks at the bar. The drinks and shots ended up costing less than what we paid at the previous club/bar we went to, that was not enjoyable at all. We wished we had spent the night out at Cactus Club Café. We recommended this place to our cousins we were traveling with and they went there the next day. They loved everything about it. I wish I had more time for more sangrias from Cactus Club Café. ‘Til next time, Vancouver!

Very nice new restaurant. Very finally finished, great views of the harbor of Vancouver. Staff have been friendly and accommodating. Same menu as other cactus club chain. And amazingly with this location, still the same cost for a menu items. Large craft beer selection, and happy hour specials. Everything from beer to burgers here along with steaks and seafood. You don’t have to completely break the bank to come and enjoy the sights of Vancouver.

Some friends and I were in town for a race and the expo was at the neighboring Vancouver Convention Centre so we ended up here for lunch. There’s a ton of outdoor patio seating so expect it to get crowded on nice days. A few of us went with the SABLEFISH(aka black cod) which is one of my favorite kinds of fish. This dish had a generous amount of buttery sablefish on a bed of shiitake and shimeji mushrooms, bok choy, red quinoa and edamame. Once it’s brought to your table, a peking duck broth is poured over everything. It was excellent! As was the service.

Absolutely beautiful! This was my first time at this location and I loved it. We waited about 20 minutes outback for outside patio seating while the rest of the restaurant was empty, well worth the wait! The food is like any other Cactus Club chain and the customer service is good. If you’re in the area come here, order some appys, a glass or two of wine and relax…
