My experiences in Germany with beer have generally been disappointing. Coming from San Francisco, I am used to a wide range of styles and exciting big beers, from super hopped IPAs to saisons to imperial stouts and porters. But when I come to Munich it’s all light and sweeter beers. No offense, but to me this is like a bud light. I found what has to be the best beer hall in Munich! Tons of local and international beers of all styles. Even has a ton from Cali and the Pacific Northwest (like old Rasputin from north coast). Super friendly and knowledgable staff too-​thanks Andy for the hospitality.

If you’re an American and want a mix and you’re homesick this would be great, I got a kick out of hearing people order beers from my hometown while in Germany. They had a lengthy selection and I was glad I got to try rauchbier that they don’t sell in the US since I didn’t make it to Bamberg, so definitely worth the trip. Definitely a good stop if you want to mix up the options and try a wide array of beers while in Germany outside of what is made locally

Tap-​House was one of the highlights to our visit to Munchen. I had heard about this place from craft beer lovers in my city, so it was already on our list of places to go before we arrived across the pond. Hubby and I did a great job of enjoying Reinheinsgebot beer in Germany, but it was a nice break to enjoy some more innovative brewing in the city as well. The place was standing room only at about 630pm, so make sure you get there early for a table or a stool at the bar. They serve almost ever beer that Camba makes as well as many from the UK, the rest of Europe and a few from the US. The Camba trippel was on tap and delicious. They have about 4 coolers of bottles that you can choose from as well. Please order the bier chili. You won’t be sorry.

This is the best beer place in Munich.
I live in San Diego and am never spoiled with the amount of beer I can drink. However, there are several breweries I can’t find in San Diego that are available here. Tap House is really like the best of American craft beer all pushed into one local bar (not a bad thing).
Besides the American craft beer, Tap House has a nice selection of beers from all over the world.
The food is basic, but seems to work. Its not a place I would come to eat a big hearty meal, but it seems to work.
Get warm by drinking some good beer at Tap House.

THE #1 destination for craft beer lovers visiting Munich. You will definitely find rare beers that you have never seen and will never again encounter elsewhere. Patient, friendly, professional staff, trustworthy recommendations.
Chose the truly outstanding Rittmayer Oak Reserve Jahrgang 2013. Wow! Just an example of a very special bottle that was available, one of over 200 selections.

Can’t wait to go back, was a nice place for some hard to find beers in Munich.

A fantastic place. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff and a wonderful selection of beers. The house beer is brewed by Camba and these are really top class brews. Comfortable, spacious room. Easily accessible from the Ostbahnhof.
Any future trips to Munich will see me revisiting Tap House — don’t listen to anyone who tells you the best beer in Munich is produced by one of the big beer houses!

A highlight of the trip. Tried four of their own beers. All superbly served and kept. A real change from the typical Munich brews.
Great, knowledgeable service. Nice unusual glassware made tasting each beer a pleasure.

Braved the weather again and headed to Tap House — a craft beer bar! They have over 200 beers to choose from and its in a very nice setting!
This is a craft beer lover’s dream but again there wasn’t much for me to choose from.
Luckily for me they had a nice Framboise in the fridge and this was a really nice way to finish off our last night in Munchen!!!

What a great find in Munich. I love the beer halls but sometimes you want something more like a cherry stout or a bock or an IPA. This place has a wide selection of bottled and tap beers. Great German selection also so you can stay local but get a feel for a wider variety. Embrace the Beer regardless. Great staff and close to bus and U Bahn.

Bei der Auswahl an Bieren könnte man auch blinde Kuh spielen und per Zufallsprinzip eine Sorte davon auswählen. Ich habs natürlich anders gemacht und mich von den Angestellten erstmal beraten lassen, welche Biere sie zu den jeweiligen Nationen empfehlen können. Und die Auswahl fiel am Ende auf folgende Sorten:
Campa Helles Bier vom Fass (geselliges Bier, erfrischend)
Chimnay Triple in einem Gläschen (leicht fruchtiger Geschmack)
Honey Dew aus GB mit einem Touch Honig, was sehr lecker ist
Würzges London Porter
Weizenbock …
das alles an einem Abend! Für Genießer und Kneipenkumpels die perfekte Location!

This is a bierstube within easy walking distance of the Ostbahnhof. The service was excellent with all of the bar tenders speaking English and German (one spoke French and Spanish as well). The house beer is great and there are 199 more after that. The food is typical stube fair: bread, wurst, mustard, fried goodness, etc… Food service is fast. No dirndls or lederhosen, but this place has a local vibe and started filling with pretty, happy people around 6:30.
Prices were fair for both food and beer and the bathroom was spotless. It would be my local if I lived in that section of Munich.

Ahhh, feels like home! Now I know that whenever I feel like having a good IPA on tap, I can rely on the Tap-​House.
The bar has a welcoming atmosphere with the friendly bartenders and relaxed ambience. Great place to go with friends to hang out and talk, but plan ahead as they do not take any reservations. It was packed on the Saturday night when we went, and I can totally see why. So many beers from so many countries. Not only that, but they have over 40 beers on tap! What a feat (especially in Munich, where most of the restaurants sell one of the Big Six breweries)!
Needless to say, I tried and enjoyed one of the IPAs (Sly Fox Rt. 113) on tap. With pretzels and beer cheese dip, it was truly an enjoyable experience. We also tried the locally (meaning Bavarian) brewed Camba Pale and Amber Ales, and they were both easy to drink. Glad to see that there are more to Bavarian beers than Helles and Weissbier (although there is nothing wrong with them).

Über 200 Biere!
Ok, das hatten wir in München schon — aber eine solche Auswahl an unterschiedlichsten Craft-​Bieren, aus unterschiedlichsten Ländern…
Wer Genuss mag ist hier richtig. Auch für weniger große Bierfans.
Am besten ein Bier empfehlen lassen. Die Jungs und Mädels hinter der Bar sind zum Teil ausgebildete Bier Sommeliers — vor allem der Chef.
Mittlerweile ist die Bar auch immer gut gefüllt und dadurch deutlich gemütlicher. Ansonsten kommt manchmal ein bisschen Bierhallen Feeling auf.
Zu Essen gibt es zwar nur ein paar Gerichte, aber das ist hier ja auch nicht die Hauptsache. Aber wenn der Hunger zuschlägt, kann man hier alles getrost probieren.
Gut zu erreichen über den Ostbahnhof. Mit dem Auto ist das ja eh nix — auch wenn es das eine oder andere alkoholfreie Bier gäbe…
Publikum ist sehr gemischt. Und sollte man mal allein vorbeischauen kommt man an der Bar schnell mit dem Nachbarn ins Gespräch.

The Tap-​House has a huge choice of different sorts of beer. I even forgot which beer I ordered and couldn’t find it again on the menu because there were so many.
The waiters have a good knowledge and can help you depending on preferences. I got recommended a specialty that could become my new favorite beer.

Great staff, especially for travelers! Beer heaven from the capital of beer, this place makes you feel at home to talk suds. A dream for a hop head like me.
They played music I requested, they talked beer, they gave me suggestions on the next town I was visiting.
Take the U5 to Ostbanoff and head south east on orleansstrasse, one block.

Also, dieses Bier ist reich an Citrus-​Noten, das IPA hat was von Schokolade und Waldbeeren. Das Craft-​Beer von Campa kostet zwar 3,90, — für 0,1 cl, aber es wurde in einem Bourbon-​Fass ausgebaut.
Wein? Klar haben wir auch Wein. Was für Wein? Na ja, es gibt Weißwein, Rotwein und Schorle.
Für alle Bier-​Liebhaber der Welt — come on in!

Yes, this is beer heaven when in Munich! Its a little outside the main city centre but jump on a tram or bus and go here. Its quite new too so it looks really fresh:)
They have several types on tap and even more bottles. You can get a varied selection from various countries in Europe and they even have some from the US.
We actually found ourselves sitting here from they opened until they closed and enjoyed it all the way, The staff was attentive and fluent in English so it wasnt a problem for our rusty German to order our beers,
Pricese are good, I guess it depends where you are from. Normally this would be a very expensive evening here in Norway, but we came out on top and all was joy!
Had troubles getting back to the hotel due to some strong beers on the end, but still, lovely evening and I really recommend you all to go here whilst in Munich. It will be worth your while!

This is great spot to grab a beer! They have such an extensive menu that it can be a little overwhelming, but everything I tried was great. The place has a great vibe, super relaxed and lively, even on a cold Tuesday night!
The absolute best thing about this place is the service! They are so friendly and attentive and even take EC cards.
The only con is the seating is mostly bar stools with no backs, so it gets uncomfortable after a while. But this is just a minor detailed compared to how cool this place is. Check it out!

Endlich gibt es in München ein Auswahl an Bieren, die sich auch so nennen darf!
Als wir an einem Samstag bei extremem Schmuddelwetter in das Tap House kamen, waren wir erst mal angenehm überrascht. Hochtische und eine lange Bar in gut gestyltem Ambiente.
Wir setzten uns an die Bar und wurden vom Mann hinterm Tresen wirklich gut beraten. Die Auswahl kann einen ohne Beratung schon etwas erschlagen.
Die einzelnen Biere sind natürlich Geschmackssache, aber bei der Auswahl findet sicher jeder irgendwann «sein» Bier.
Das Essen kann ich (noch) nicht bewerten, da wir uns nur mit den Bieren befassten…
Wir kommen sicher wieder, um weiter Sorten einem Test zu unterziehen.

Der Start unserer Tour de Bier.
Hier hat uns ein schöner Raum erwartet und wohl eine der längsten Theken mit den meisten Fassbieren. Die Beratung war sehr gut, was wohl auch daran lag, dass die Aushilfen meist Studenten des Brauwesens sind, wie wir später erfahren haben.
Zur Atmosphäre lässt sich zur Mittagszeit noch nicht allzu viel sagen, könnte aber gut sein abends.
Zu den Bieren:
1. 3Floyds Zombie Dust: starker Geschmack, Geruch eher wie Muskateller Wein
1a. Camba O. A. Heller Bock — Muscatel, im Eichenfass gereift — fruchtig, trotz 7,4% eher leichter Geschmack
2. Camba O. A Amber Ale Rum, intensives Rum Aroma, klare Farbe im Gegensatz zum 2a, leichter Geschmack bei 9,5%
2a. Camba Amber Ale. Runder leichter Geschmack
3. Camba pale Ale. Extremer Geruch nach Mango. Geschmack o. k.
3a. Tröegs Nugget Nugget nectar. Leichter Mangogeruch. Grober Schaum der optisch an Seifenblasen erinnert.

this place is a paradise for beer lovers. I had a chance to visit this as part of a boys night out, which a friend of ours organized. Never been to this place before, so was quite ecstatic to witness it and also quich my thirst after a long tiring day.
This place is closed to rosenhiemer platz or Ostbahnhof, which ever station you pick. The place is quite big and spacious in an old ancient building, since I guess way before my parents were borned. The entire ambiance gives you a feeling of a wooden kellar with barrel all around and high rise tables all across. The ideal description of this place, would be — no fuss, watery hole in the wall. The place is not posh and inviting as a restaurant, but its rusty and has quite like a casual atmosphere.
Now comes the real part the drinks. I was amazed to see the variety of beers they have — from Belgium, to Newzeland to god knows beer from which all countries they got. In short, they had quite a wide variety and that’s the selling point for them. If you really wanna drink and drink only just drop by and have a great time. The staff were extremely friendly and jovial. English, no problem they speak pretty well. As I said, if you are in for some food, then this isn’t the place and they admit it without a regret, as its a Tap house. so come here and drink and drink and have a blast. Though they have some finger foods but not fantastic ones though. On price front, they are not pricy at all.
I will definitely recommend this place. if you are looking for a spot to just get drenched with drink and have a fabulous time, then this place is where you should go.

Ein reiner frischer Gerstensaft, gibt Herzensfreud und Muskelkraft.
Bingo und im Tap-​House kann man nicht nur Herzensfreud und Muskelkraft tanken, sondern bekommt hier auch mit Herzblut eine kleine Bierkunde bzw. eine Erklärung zur Brauart der riesigen Bierauswahl gratis. Und diese hat es gehörig in sich. Über 200 Biersorten, darunter alleine 40 Biere vom Tap (also vom Zapfhahn) warten darauf angezapft zu werden. Das ist selbst für die Hauptstadt des Bieres né ordentliche Hausnummer!
Meine Wahl fiel mit Hilfe der super netten und kompetenten Beratung auf das Joppen Adriaan Witbeer aus Neuseeland. Der erste Schluck schmeckte erstmal ungewohnt fruchtig für ein Bierchen, aber beim dritten Schluck war ich dann Feuer und Flamme. Zwei Bierchen und ich hatte ein kleines Hütchen auf, soll heißen. Das Zünglein wollte nicht mehr so recht wie der Kopf. Also Achtung. Dieser Gerstensaft haut rein, denn der Alkoholgehalt der Biere hier kann schon mal richtig nach oben krachen!
Zum Essen wird die Qual der Wahl etwas einfacher. Mein Bayerisches Bruschetta in Form von zwei belegten Bauernbrot-​Stullen mit Thunfisch und Zwiebeln war für 4,50 absolut okay, das Beery Chilli Con Carne bzw. der Beery Gulasch wurde von meinen Begleitungen ebenfalls als lecker befunden. Die Portionsgröße bot auf jeden Fall genug Stoff für das nächste Bierchen vom Tab on top. ;D
Für mich ist das Tap-​House auf jeden Fall die Neuentdeckung in Haidhausen, denn selbst als Nicht-​Bierfan kann man sich hier von den verschiedenen Geschmäckern der internationalen Biersorten überraschen lassen. Wie wäre es mit nem belgischen Fruchtbier oder doch ein Rauchbier? Geschmacklich findet hier jeder etwas nach seinem Hopfen-​Gusto.

I was told about this place some time ago by a friend and have been wanting to visit ever since. As it so happened, we were at a workshop with Unilocal just down the road from this place and decided to stop in and check it out.
It is a really nice rustic old looking pub with lots of barrels used as decoration and also as tables. They have a huge blackboard on the back wall that has a list of beers that are on their menu or have had before. The place was empty when we got there (we were the first ones there) and we had the place to ourselves. It is located a short walk from the Ostbahnhof station and very easy to get to.
The beer menu here is extensive and has beers from Germany, USA, Belgium, UK, Ireland and other places. There are multiple pale ales and of course a variety of dark beers. The prices are not too bad either. I cannot comment on the food however they do have a number of options.
I would happily come back here anytime, just to try a few different beers and, whilst I love German beer, it is also nice to have a decent variety of beers from other countries.
Similar to the Porterhouse in Ireland and the Delirium in Brussles this is a pub with a great variety of beers from around the world and a nice addition to the city of Munich. We need more places like this one ;-))

Ich muss vorab schreiben, ich liebe Bier.
Das Tap House hat uns ein schönen Abend in gemütliche Atmosphäre geboten. Bei jede neue Runde wurden wir sehr gut beraten bei der Bierauswahl. Die kleine unvollwerige Speisekarte ist fast überflüssig, da man hier nur trinken sollte. Essen lieber vorab woanders. Wer Bier mag und gerne (ungewöhnliches) ausprobieren möchte ist hier genau richtig!

While I am very excited to have a place like this in Munich, I find it hard to give them five stars, as I think there’s too muchb room for improvement. Firstly, while the food I have had there isn’t horrible by any means, it’s not awesome either, and the offerings are few. Secondly, while most waiters seem very knowledgeable about the beer (and speak great English, too), it has happened to me twice on three visits that an order was lost (once a beer order, once an entire food order for the table). Improve on those while keeping the rest great, and I can virtually promise a raise in stars.
As for the beers, the selection is nice, a mix of German beers and beers from the UK, USA, Belgium, Denmark and other countries with a healthy craft beer movement.
Camba Bavaria are of course overrepresented, as they run the place, but many of their beers are interesting, so that’s nothing to complain about.
If you enjoy beers outside of the standard Munich types, you will definitely want to go here, even before they fix the food and the service.

Das Bierauswahl und die –qualität sind natürlich über jeden Zweifel erhaben
allerdings gibt es im Bereich Essen noch deutliches Steigerungspotential.
Warum gibt es nicht sowas einfaches wie Fingerfood? Onionrings oder Nachos
usw? Das würde auch noch den Getränkeabsatz ankurbeln. Nein, neben
Focaccia (das schon um 18 Uhr aus war) gibt es recht dünnes Chili
und sogennantes Bayrisches Bruschetta das aus getostetem Landbrot mit
Dosen-​Thunfisch, wenigen Zwiebeln und einigen Spritzern Balsamico besteht. Das hat uns beides nicht wirklich überzeugt. Das Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis hat für uns bei den Speisen nicht gepasst.
Grundsätzlich fanden wir es zu kalt in den Räumlichkeiten, klar es ist
Winter aber auch in München gibt es schon Heizungen. Ausserdem ist die
Aufteilung des WCs (ich kann nur für den Männerbereich sprechen)
suboptimal. Wenn es mal voll wird dürfte es gerade im Waschbereich zu Staus kommen.
Fazit: Viele leckere Biere die man unbeding probieren sollte sowie grosszügige Gasträume aber das Essen kann man getrost in der Küche lassen.

Beer is great. Waitress really know what they talk about and give excellent recommendations. So if you don’t know what to drink, just ask them
Food is okay. But what do you expect? They focus on beer and not on food. But if you are hungry, you can just get a soup or some nice small dishes.
I always have been waiting for a place like this to open. I can’t go often enough. Prices are really great too! Per 0.3 litres beer you pay 3 – 4 €. I understand why because most of those beers get important from america or UK.

Was für eine Bereicherung für München! Endlich gibt es eine Bar bzw. Kneipe für Craft-​Bier-​Liebhaber mit einer unglaublichen Auswahl.
Die oberbayrische Mikrobrauerei Camba Bavaria aus Truchtlaching am Chiemsee, die schon seit einiger Zeit mit tollen Kreationen von Pale Ale bis Stout und Co. zu meinen Lieblingsbrauereien gehört, hat den Sprung in die bayrische Landeshauptstadt gewagt und das «Tap-​House» eröffnet. Ich war direkt am Eröffnungstag dabei (29.11.2013) und entsprechend voll war es — super!
Die Bierkarte ist sensationell: 40 Biere vom Zapfhahn und über 200 aus der Flasche, von den großen Biernationen dieser Erde. Wer sich für Bier interessiert und auch Mal Sorten jenseits von Hellem oder Weißbier kennenlernen will, ist hier richtig. Es gibt nicht nur die riesige Auswahl des hauseigenen Bieres der Camba selbst, sondern auch eine immense Auswahl an Craft-​Bieren aus den USA, Niederlanden oder Italien. Es macht richtig Spaß, sich hier durchzuprobieren und sein neues Lieblingsbier zu entdecken. Bei meinem ersten Besuch war dies das «Zombie Dust Pale Ale» der US-​Brauerei 3floyds.
Auch zu Essen gibt es einige bodenständige Sachen, perfekt für so eine Bar: Vom Chili con carne bis zum «bayrischen Bruschetta» über eine deftige Gulaschsuppe ist so einiges im Angebot — und alles zu sehr humanen Preisen.
Es gibt übrigens gar nicht so viele Tische — Highlight und sehr begehrt ist die extrem lange Bar, an der man einen Platz ergattern sollte.
Wer sich für Bier und seine Geschmacksvielfalt interessiert, kommt derzeit in München am Tap-​House nicht vorbei. Unbedingt besuchen und die Welt der Biere kennenlernen. Mich sieht das Tap-​House mit Sicherheit noch sehr oft. Ein ganz toller Laden, dem ich einen riesigen Erfolg wünsche!
