Currently, this is categorized under«Hotels». Unsure if the restaurant I’m reviewing is part of a hotel. Anyway, here’s my review! Since Frühlingsfest wasn’t officially open, and both my friend and I were on the verge of passing out from hunger, we discovered this quiet restaurant located not too far from the fairgrounds. RESTAURANT The word«rustic» comes to mind when describing this place. Interesting décor with what looks like pine tree branches surrounding ceiling lights, as well as other decorations which make you feel like you’re in a hunting lodge. FOOD Jägerschnitzel: From my previous experiences with eating Jägerschnitzel, I don’t recall eating one that hasn’t been breaded and fried, and with mushroom sauce poured over. I’m assuming this might be a a style of Jägerschnitzel which is prepared in a certain region of Bavaria, but I’m unsure. Anyway, it was«lecker»(delicious), to say the least. Käsespätzle: Warm and cheesy. I have no criticisms about this! I just loved eating this along with my Jägerschnitzel. What a perfect combo. SERVICE Our waiter was attentive and friendly. He often came by to our table to ask us if we needed refills in our waters and if we were enjoying our meals. OVERALL I’m not sure when I’ll be returning to Munich, but it’s good to know that there is a restaurant that I wouldn’t mind returning to, and that’s Gasthaus zur Festwiese.
