Barfly & Kitchen

Great food, nice eclectic atmosphere, lovely staff. Nice selection of wines with local Italian flavor of which not all come with a big price tag. It’s great for a cosy romantic dinner, a dinner in a bigger group of friends and even for a larger party. My favorite in the neighborhood. I should also add that Rosario has an excellent taste in music.

Firstly, please note that this restaurant is run by my friend Rosario, so I may be biased. Having said that, the two times I have visited I have enjoyed the quality of the food, one should just note that prices are on the high end for lunch, though pretty much par for the course of Lehel. Colleagues who had their pizza for lunch were very pleased, and the slice I tried was indeed nice. The coffee is excellent. The décor is a bit torn between Munich, Italy and America, but I guess that’s by design, so to speak. Definitely a place worth a visit for lunch when you’re in the area, and extrapolating I would presume also a nice dinner option, though I have not yet tried them for that.

Das Barfly hat seit Januar 2010 neue Pächter, die es ganz erfolgreich geschafft haben, der alteingesessenen Münchner Partylocation neuen Pep zu verleihen.
Ich glaube es gibt keinen Münchner, der noch nie vom Barfly gehört hat; nur genoss es in den letzten Jahren einen eher weniger guten Ruf… lange galt es als Prolltreff unter den Münchener Nachtlokalen.
Die neuen Pächter haben viel Liebe und allem Anschein nach auch viel Geld investiert um das Barfly neu zu positionieren. Im dunklen rot und gold mit vielen barocken Elementen und einer ornamentalen Tapete erscheinen die zwei Räume des Barflys im neuen Glanz.
Neben Wein, Cocktails und Bier werden hier auch lecker Kleinigkeiten zum Essen serviert. Ansonsten handelt es sich hier nach wie vor eher um eine Partylocation mit diversen DJs (Do-​Sa).
Übrigens: das Barfly kann man auch für private Feierlichkeiten mieten
