Wir haben schon öfter im Mauz gefeiert und rein theoretisch ist das eine schöné Location für private Feiern. Aber leider hat der Eigentümer seinen Terminkalender nicht im Griff und hat uns einen langfristig fest gebuchten und von ihm mehrmals persönlich und schriftlich zugesagten Termin jetzt abgesagt, weil er (lange nach unserer Buchung!) eine andere Veranstaltung am gleichen Termin hereinbekommen hat. Das Ganze wurde von ihm dann noch mit mehreren pampigen bis unverschämten Telefonaten garniert. Wer also eine zuverlässige Location sucht, bei der dann auch die Abwicklung klappt, der sollte sich lieber etwas anderes suchen. Und wir dürfen jetzt unseren 70 Gästen absagen. Thanks for nothing, Herr Mauz.

Bar Mauz is ehhh at best. Though it is super close to where I work, that still isn’t enough to keep me coming back.
There is typically only one guy running around, presumably the owner, because it doesn’t seem to ever be busy enough for him to have an actual server working the lunch shift. Thus, your expectations should be quite low with regard to goo service (however, he is usually quite friendly).
As for the food, well that’s also pretty lackluster. I honestly just find the menu boring, a mix of salads and pastas typically, all of which lacking any sort of imagination. My coworkers actually enjoy Bar Mauz, but I personally just don’t understand the fuss. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to say about this place. Certainly not a place I would recommend to others. :(

I’ve worked near Mauz for three years and only just realized it’s open at lunch — it’s set back from the road and from the outside it looks like all of the lights are off! But if you walk up to the door you soon discover it just looks oddly dark inside — once inside it doesn’t seem dark and it’s actually a really cute place!
This place is so nice I could go there every day for lunch! Mainly because they change their menu every day so you’d never get bored! Dishes range from about 7 – 13 Euro and are a mix of Italian and Chinese — occasionally there’s something German but it’s mostly Italian!
The waiter — who I think is also the owner — is a really nice guy — very chatty and always polite!
I go quite frequently now and I’ve never been let down! Definitely one to try!

I went to this place for lunch, and I must say, I was extremely surprised by the quality of food and service.
I passed by this place more times than I can count, and never really thought twice about it. Walking by on Leopoldstr one might think that it is closed, but alas it is not! They change their menu every day and from what I had for my first time there I was over-​the-​moon excited about abundance of deliciousness in my mouth.
A friend of mine explained the «deal» to me. If you go there order pasta and a drink you will get a salad. However, if you order anything other than pasta (and order a drink) salad will not be included. I’m not exactly sure why or how that makes sense… but that’s just how they roll. However, the little starter salad was yum-​city.
I would recommend everyone go there for lunch and/​or dinner.

Café-​Bar direkt an der Ecke Ohmstrasse, am frühen Nachmittag spärlich besucht. Ich bestellte nur einen Espresso, der war gut. Der Außenbereich im Grünen unter grossem Schirm könnte ab Frühjahr attraktiv sein.

Eine tolle Location — nicht zu groß, nicht zu klein — ideal um seine private Feier dort stattfinden zu lassen. Die Küche ist hervorragend, der Service aufmerksam. Wenn man bereit ist, die Investition zu tätigen wird man dafür reich entlohnt. Ich bin froh, dass es so eine Möglichkeit gibt und kann die Bar Mauz nur weiterempfehlen.

Irgendwie kam ich mir hier sehr fehl am Platz vor, als ich mit einer Freundin zum Mittagessen war… nur Anzugträger um mich rum.
Es fühlte sich so an, als ob wir in der Kantine einer Bank oder Versicherung gelandet wären…
Und alle schienen sich untereinander zu kennen.
Ich glaube, dass die günstiges Mittagsangebote viele Büroangestellte anlocken… daher empfehle ich nicht mittags hierher zu kommen.
Die Bar ist an sich auch nett und klein, aber nichts was mir in Erinnerung bleibt.
