I came here on a European trip with a group of 10 people. I wasn’t sure what I wanted on the menu and the waitress was extremely rude to us. She said «if you come to a restaurant, you are expected to order something.» In a snobby tone. My husband and I decided to order the apple strudel (which was delicious) but I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you want to be treated like crap.

Gigantic restaurant with traditional Bavarian food. Quite expensive but you get very big plates. It’s everything you would expect from a real Bavarian restaurant. Don’t come here if you aren’t very hungry or else you will have leftovers. The restaurant during peek hours is very loud but has a nice atmosphere to it.

This authentic German Beer hall will not only satisfy your thirst, but it will have cold body warmed up from one of their many dishes. I had a beef special dish, which was delicious. They have many specials, which I highly recommend because most of them are from local farms or hunts, featuring interesting flavors. The beer here is big, and when you order you pretty much just say «beer» and they bring you a pilsner, in typical German fashion.
This is right across from the Glockenspiel, so easy to get to. Plenty of seating, both formal dining hall & a mess hall with community style tables for simple meals or just drinks. Menu translates to dozens of languages.

Das Augustiner ist innen total urig und so wie man sich München vorstellt. Das Restaurant war gut gefüllt, wir hatten reserviert. Die Bedienung ist schnell und freundlich. Es gibt eine große Auswahl typischer Speisen und man kann sich kaum entscheiden (manchmal auch, weil man nicht weiß, was das nun eigentlich ist, was man da bestellen kann). Bier ist super. Die Atmosphäre einfach toll. Die Preise sind für München absolut ok, alle Hauptgerichte unter 20 Euro. Definitiv empfehlenswert!

Nettes kleines Brauhaus.
Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung freundlich.
Sehr familiäre Atmosphäre.
Jedoch gut gefüllt, wenn man eine kleine Gruppe ist sollte man reservieren.
Gutes Weizenbier.
Der Krustenbraten ist sehr zu empfehlen.

The alternative place to eat if you want to stay away from the noise at Hofbrauhaus. I am specially fond of their Weiss beer. Good choice of meals that are traditional Bavarian/German. I enjoyed their Beef in vegetable broth. My husband had their Curry Wurst and Goulash both very excellent. Before I forget their Glühwein is one of the best I’ve tried.
